I had an original Sovol SV 06 printer that took a lot of upgrades and time to get working properly. Indeed after all the modifications, the prints were very qualitative, but not for all the materials. For the PLA, the PETG was good but for the ABS, and even worse the TPU, very complicated. I ended up buying a Prusa MK4 S as a kit, and just from the assembly, you can see that the quality is not comparable. All the filaments print without any problems, the settings are simple, and we finally come to the main thing, printing, and no longer tinkering on the machine. So yes, it's not the same price, but frankly unless you have time to waste, the price difference is more than justified
I have the original, and it was a lemon. Could not get a good first layer over the entire bed. That could only be solved with manual leveling with a dial gauge. It was an awful experience for a new user. l I also found topics where some Prusa users have those problems. I can't justify paying premium for a bed slinger when you can get a core xy for around half the cost.
Interesting when you say the original are you talking about the SV 06 not the ace version? Yeah I've been very impressed with The results so far The first layer in particular has not been an issue for me or for any of the prints I've done so far. I'll obviously be keeping an eye on it but if it keeps going the way it is I'm very interested in what the ace plus might bring. Crazy enough I actually think this might be faster than my bambu p1p. I have to do some more testing on it but I could have swore one of the helmets I just printed finished 2 hours faster than on the P1P so stay tuned.
@@CaptainCreativity Yes the non-ace version. Most users on the fb group don't have these issues. But there are a few users out their that getting frustrated by not being able to solve the problem. So I think the quality control is lacking. But that's also reflected in the price. That;s why I would not recommend this printer to beginners because they lack the skill the test them out of the box thoroughly.
@@StarsAtNight1I totally hear what you're saying I kind of regret not having a sovol prior to this. I could only hope that perhaps the company might be turning a new leaf and focusing on quality control. One of the things I like to do in the near future especially by the end of the year is to start benchmarking the speeds of these printers and giving a nice comparison to everyone. I'm just trying to find now a good model to use. I don't like using the benchy I would love to try to use something else as a better standard and also maybe something that's not so small. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them
Hi , out of curiosity why would you describe the SV06 as a knock off? I know they have been around years before Bambu Lab and I didn't find their machine to be a knockoff unless your referring to the Prusa? They are using Klipper and Obico for mobile capability and Orca for slicing. I think it's actually much faster than the A1 but I'll do some tests and report back. I was thinking of doing a showdown amongst several printers with the same build sizes. As per the T1 Pro it's not on my radar , I did do an on-site review of it at Rapid TCT but I never published it. I held off after seeing reports of the noise issues but that might have been related to the S1 , I know that they made a muffle for it but it's still pretty loud that most reviewers said they needed to move it to another space. Anyway I'd be happy to dig in a little deeper and thanks for the feedback and for watching. 😊
You got me scared there because I thought that there was an editing mistake but if you go through it again you'll see that the first one was a quick benchy which was a 13-minute benchy. When that was finished I said I'm going to do a high quality benchy . Tell me if you're not seeing the same thing and I'll tell the editor to check it again but I'm pretty sure after I just checked it I do state that these are different Benchy tests 20:18 is when I say I'm going to do their high quality benchy. Next time I'll be sure to say all the Benchy tests I'll do ahead of time so you will know what to expect in case anyone is skipping along. thank you for your feedback and thanks for watching
@@CaptainCreativityno worries, didn't want to scare you. I actually watched the whole video, even this part twice, maybe I got confused somehow. My bad! Regardless I wanted to order yesterday but the payment failed 3 times for some reason. Maybe this was a sign... I already have to many printers and too little space 😂
Yes it definitely has an auto Z offset calibration. It looks like it uses some sort of a pressure sensor if that makes sense. But definitely no paper leveling. Thanks for watching
White and Green , I use the white originally because that's what came with the packaging so I usually like to use the filament that the company sends for the most optimized results. But then later in the video I ran another test on green. Anyway thanks for watching, check out 21:40 to see the Green Benchy

I have a real dislike for knock-offs . I love my Bambu A1. Lately, I've been looking into the T1 Pro. Are you planning to test the T1 Pro?

The Open questions for me are: is this with auto z offset and if yes how is it made.
It is auto-z, don't know how tho.

@@CaptainCreativity Pleaze don't use white, can't see notthing with that.
That's why the ship white filament: so you don't see defects.
@@eaman11yup your right . Going forward I will not use white but keep watching I do make another test in Green
@@CaptainCreativity Yeah I saw that, much bettar, good job.
