Mario was done dirty too. Best thing you can do on this track is get 3 red shells or a string of banana peels and just hang onto them for when someone gets close enough to throw them up and over the wall.

The Thwomps in this game are complete trolls. It’s more of hitting them and spinning out rather than getting crushed by them. They aren’t as bad in the Mario Kart Wii on this same course(which appears as a retro track).
This track is kinda spooky. Something about the lighting, the lava, the sky and the music make me uncomfortable. But those are reasons I like this track.
Who thinks that the Thwomps are trolls on this track? Especially the two Thwomps in the second Thwomp area that get in front of you and try to crush you?
Lots of places to totally screw your Opponents with on this level. A red shell or banana peel can easily be the difference between a win or loss here, and getting the timing for the thomps down right. Between this track and banshee boardwalk on 150cc or the bonus reverse levels it’s easily the hardest.
If I need a reminder of how unfair this game is, I always turn to this track. Cheating AI, nearly impossible to dodge obstacles, spinning out at literally nothing, all of it is here in this one infuriating track. That being said the music is a banger

This level is impossible. Ive been trying for an hour and I end up dead last every time. Edit I finally beat it after 7 or 8 tries, probably won't replay this level any time soon.
