Is the rapture true or false? Does the Bible talk about a rapture?

  • The rapture theory has become very popular among Christians, but popularity is not what determines sound doctrine. Our doctrine must always come from the Word of God alone and not the imaginations of men. The Bible is our source for truth and doctrine, so we need to find out if the rapture theory is Biblical or not.
There are a number of variations about the rapture, such as pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, or post-tribulation, but the general idea is that all Christians will be taken up to heaven at some point during the last days.
It is sometimes referred to as the “secret rapture” because they believe it will come suddenly and without warning. They teach that the rapture could happen at any moment, so we must always be ready because no one knows the day or the hour.
So, where did the rapture doctrine come from?
There is no documented evidence of anyone teaching the rapture prior to the late 18th century. That means for the first seventeen hundred years of Christianity no one was teaching the rapture. No one!
Darby is also called the “father of dispensationalism” because he was so instrumental in spreading the belief that God changes the rules and the way He interacts with people during different periods of time.
Darby taught that the prophetic timetable had been paused at the founding of the church and that the unfulfilled Biblical prophecies will not take place until after the Rapture of the church. He also taught that the Rapture would be a “secret” catching away that could happen at any moment without any signs or warnings.
Does the Bible really teach that believers will be raptured up to heaven?
    Scripture references:
    1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
    Revelation 20:4-6
    1 Corinthians 15:51-55
    Matthew 24:29-31
    Matthew 24:37-42
    John 17:14-17
    Matthew 13:30

I simply enjoy the teachings, and at the end of the day I could care less about rapture or no rapture, my only goal is to be counted worthy at the end, and be allowed into the kingdom....no argument required.

If the Bible says it is there then it should be of your concern because of preparations needed. If its a post trib then sir without any prep and getting caught by surprise when Jesus himself was warning you left right and centre in His bible then I am sorry to say that mindset is ignorance and you probably will be a machine nephilim human hybrid with a 666 on the forehead unsavable by the blood when the tribulation ends as a result of claiming ignorance. you're not worthy, christ alone is worthy, thats the only way you're worthy, its being in christ and having his righteousness, its not earned or worked for, its not something you have by lawkeeping or "not sinning"...the ones who are worthy are the ones with a faith that only looks to christ accomplisment, his atonement, his perfect life and death and blood and ressurection, being worthy is simply being in christ, having a saving faith, its not living a certain way, its believing a certain way.

    • @petratical
      @petratical 5 років тому +14

@@westoftherockies You say; “…having a saving faith, its not living a certain way, its believing a certain way.” But, really it is both, as John said; “let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he (Jesus) is righteous.” 1 John 3:7. If you are not living the faith, how can it be true faith?
As, , being worthy is “more than” simply being in Christ, as you say. Otherwise,
Why would Paul plead, “That you would walk worthy of God, who has called you unto his kingdom and glory.” 1 Thessalonians 2:12,
Why did Jesus admonish; “Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:36.
Again Paul speaking of ":worthiness"; “that you would walk worthy of God,” 1 Thessalonians 2:12.
Again; “that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God,…” in 2 Thessalonians 1:5
      and
“Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling,…” 2 Thessalonians 1:11
Again; “That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing,…” Colossians 1:10. Pleasing? For what?
As no doubt only Jesus “the Lamb that was slain (is) to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing”. Revelation 5:12. But, those who believe in him must be doing righteousness, or they only deceive themselves, 1 John 3:7.
Interesting that Paul would say; “ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” 1 Thessalonians 5:6. Here he speaks of “be sober” just as he used it in Titus 2: 12,13 “live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
No, without being watchful, prayerful, and sober we could miss it.
I think being "worthy" is connected to "endurance" as- You don’t earn your salvation by endurance, you prove you have the real thing by your endurance!

In reference to the days of Noah, Matt. 24:37-44, you said the wicked were all taken away in judgement, which infers that those left behind are the righteous. If your interpretation is correct then please explain who this passage was meant for... the wicked or the righteous? If you say the righteous, why would it be necessary that they should be warned since they are going to be left behind anyway, which is a good thing according to your theory? Excellent and accurate teaching!
I was saved in December 1971 and believed in a pre-tribulation rapture because that is what I was taught at that time.
In about 1973 I heard Pat Robertson teach that Jesus comes back for His church "After the tribulation of those days" and it upset me so much that I studied the subject to prove Pat was wrong.
By 1974 after studying Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 17 and 21, Daniel, Revelation and both books of Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians I discovered that Pat was correct and now believe that the pre-tribulation theory is not accurately portrayed in the Bible, but is a teaching of man, that was inspired by the evil-one to deceive the body of Christ about the last days.
Sadly those who believe in the pre-tribulation rapture usually don't study eschatology as they believe it doesn't pertain to them and the study of end times is not necessary as they will be raptured before the 7th trumpet.

Just as in the days when Jesus walked the earth, the Jewish people were looking for their Messiah. Many of them missed Him, even though He was right there among them. Many of these who missed Him were the learned ones, the religious leaders who had studied Torah all their lives. So, just as they were stubbornly clinging to their predictions concerning the Messiah, we have people today stubbornly clinging to their predictions of end time events. To those who present their predictions (concerning what will happen and what will NOT happen) with such confidence, I say, "You don't KNOW. You THINK that you know, but you don't KNOW." So, check your confidence already, as you may fall into the same category as the learned men of old who missed the Messiah.

I guess you missed the first few verses of John 14 where Yeshua alluded to it in His Jewish wedding references.
But the catching away, is a NT "mystery" (something hidden in the OT, revealed in the NT) because it wasn't until a decade+ later that the early Jewish believers understood salvation and God's Kingdom was for the gentiles too! How could they understand the catching away of the church-age believers yet?
Where is the church in Rev 4 through 19?
There are going to be more than 200,000,000 saved (b/c God counted that size army, but believers are countless) during the Tribulation because they will be desperate to be on the right side after having been exposed to the gospel but never having accepted it and watching their friends disappear, because there will be 144,000 evangelists, because of the 2 witnesses, because their will be angels proclaiming the gospel around the earth.
But the "church" has to be out of the way for God to deal exclusively with Israel, otherwise they would be relying on us, good people in the USA for example, to rescue them from the arab invasion, rather than solely God. Who could have saved the Israelites standing on the shore of the Red Sea at the mouth of the canyon will Pharoah's army breathing down their necks from behind and the deep blue sea in front of them? ONLY GOD. All other options must be exhausted for National Israel in order to come back to YHVH and Torah.

      1) The Jewish wedding included the betrothal agreement. This made the marriage legally binding, though not yet consummated. Israel was betrothed to YHVH at Mt. Sinai.
The groom would provide a place for the bride. Often simply a room in the parental home, but a place.
His return was never certain as it usually depended on the completion of gathering the harvest. *After the harvest*, the groom would return to the bridal city. When the watchmen on the wall saw him approach, *they sounded the call*. Then, all invited guests would leave the city to greet the groom on the road. They gathered around him and escorted him BACK to the city they just left. It was the typical greeting for any VIP. The Palm Sunday parade was a picture of His coming for his bride, (Both redeemed Jew and the grafted - in church.)
      2) In order for a mystery to be revealed, it must actually be revealed! In order for a mystery to be revealed, it must be previously unknown. Unheard of.
Daniel was promised a rescue for *all those* who were in *The Book of Life*.
Jesus said that the elect would be gathered from the air and from the earth (the dead are resurrected from the earth first, then the redeemed survivors from the air.)
So: The escape could not be the mystery!
("But", you say, "Those elect and redeemed are just Jews and the 'untouchables' called 'The Tribulation Saints'." POPPYCOCK! There is no caste system in the Bible. No place for such classism and antisemitism in God's kingdom. No promise of a different treatment for Jews, gentiles, and "Johnny - Come - Latelys." -just the promises that all are equal, and that God is no respecter of persons, and the parable showing the good shepherd leaving the safe ones alone to seek and save the straggler. The one who obeyed "last.")
No, *the rapture itself was no mystery*.
Maybe the mystery was that it would happen before the pampered western church has to experience any discomfort?
No. If that was the mystery Paul "revealed" HE FORGOT TO REVEAL IT!!!
Instead, He just gave them an Olivet Discourse summary. He retold what Jesus had said.
The MYSTERY was the thing that was previously *unknown*, that Paul actually did reveal. Not only did he reveal a real mystery, but it was also (unlike the idea that the mystery was a pre-trib escape from the planet) actually grammatically consistent with the entire letter he was writing to the church.
The subject he was expounding on was DEATH! Many in the church were mourning their martyrs. They knew there would be a resurrection, but they also knew well that the resurrection came at the end of the age. They were afraid that the ones who had died had missed any chance of reigning with Christ. (There were also false teachers going about teaching that it was all spiritual, and that there would be no physical resurrection.)
Paul wrote to reassure them *and* he revealed the true *mystery*. While death is virtually 100% inevitable, still *not every single believer would have to die*. The (few) who remain alive will be instantly translated into immortal bodies, complete with a sanctified, perfected nature!
I don't know about you, but to me that beats being flown to heaven to party while the people the LORD loves are dying.

The first church felt persecuted and under tribulation in those days, and were expecting Christ to return soon, to meet Him in the clouds. Maybe it's true if we see the events unfold quickly like days.
BUT, what if the sequence of events last years or months in between?
What if when Christ returns with a shout, He will not come down to earth yet, but judge the earth first, fulfilling the prophecies about Israel over a period of time, until it is surrounded, and He descends with the saints, breaking the mountains apart, destroy His enemies, and establish His rule?

Read the scriptures and prophecies in context and you may get a better understanding. My pastor is very adamant about that and about hermeneutic Bible study. Word studies can be beneficial, as well. Superficial reading of the scriptures can give one a wrong picture of what is going on. Become a “Bible journalist” - who is speaking? Why is the speaker saying what is being said? Who is being spoken to? Why do they need to hear what the speaker is saying to them? What happened before that caused a wrong understanding among those who are being spoken to? What were the customs of the day and the area? So much to consider!

Lex, I've appreciated the several videos of yours that I have seen so far. (On Hell, and Sexual Immorality...), but I think you unnecessarily oppose any kind of 'rapturing' with the resurrection, as somehow inherently incompatible. Any rapture believer who believes they go to some disembodied eternity in some heaven away from the earth primarliy has problems with the teaching of the resurrection (and eschatology, the new earth, etc), and the problem is not so much a problem with believing that we will meet Him in the air.
To believe that Christians are raptured/rescued/snatched away (harpazo) in some kind of way for a time does not entail that those passages are not about the resurrection. Jesus returns at at thereby fulfills the Feast of Trumpets (the resurrection day, the hidden day, the long day, the day of coronation of the king, etc) , and at the last trump, we shall all be changed.

Jaco Veldsman That is correct! And that is my point! The passage has nothing to do with the wicked as this guy proclaims. It is a warning to the righteous believers because some of them will be left behind at the Rapture. Does this mean that those who are left behind will enter into the 7yr Trib? Absolutely not. What most saints fail to realize is that the 7yr Trib does not commence immediately following the Rapture. Surely, those saints that miss the Rapture will have to experience martyrdom but this transpires before the 7yr Trib ever gets underway. These unfortunate brethren will have to die for their faith. That is the cup reserved for them to drink of! So there will be a Pre-Trib Rapture but understand that it will be a Partial Pre-Trib Rapture at that!

The rapture is not the same as the resurrection,as they were revealed since the world began. Your use of "secret"is incorrect. Very simple, those who have died already will experience the glorification of their bodies FIRST, will be resurrected and be taken up, and then those who are still alive will experience the same in their living state (that is, the glorification of their bodies, NOT resurrection) and will go up and meet them and both will be taken up together to meet The Lord.
The word of God is not always meant to be complicated but simple. What part of that verse do you find unbelievable? Here's the whole passage in context:
"13Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words."

Dear brother, thanks for the commentary, however, you seem to miss the point on one issue and on the other i'm not clear where you stand. On rapture, you are right in saying Christs' coming is post tribulation, however, as you quoted in the scripture, Paul said the living will not preceed the death, then went on to say the dead shall rise first then those who are alive will be changed and be caught up together (to join those already caught up). So according to the scripture, those that meet Christs' condition for rapture and are not dead will be changed and caught up. Now on the issue of relating Noah 's generation been taken away and rapture's taken away. Remember, that who is taken away depends on who or what is taking them away. The flood came to take those that qualify for destruction (outside the ark) with it, in like manner Christ will come and take away those who qualify to be with him. The flood is to destroy the wicked but Jesus came to save the righteous. Logically speaking (according to the scripture), they are operating from different sides of the fence, so the target people are also different. Shalom

About your video of the rapture.
I watched your video about the rapture twice, and felt the urgency to get things clear for myself about this doctrine, since I consider it of great importance, and I used to consider you a good master of the Scriptures. I respect you, but as a believer, I took this matter seriously. I have to admit you made me doubt it, but I took the time to carefully read the passages in the Bible that you mention, and I personally come to the conclusion that there is a rapture. My honest conclusion, after reading and analizing the verses in their whole chapter contexts.
I encourage you to carefully read them. To me, in all given portions of the Word, it's pretty clear: first the dead will rise, THEN US, will gather with the Lord in the clouds. Also, we'll be TRANSFORMED from a animal body to an incorrupted, espiritual one.
The reference you make about the angels gathering and taking the good plants INTO the Lord's barn. Also mentioning, from Yeshua Himself, that the angels Will gather us from the 4 corners. It's not even implicit, all this is plain and explicit.
Please reconsider your opinion, because I think you are misleading people and bringing confusion.

Luke 17:22-37 and Matthew 24:26-28, 36-51 is pre-trib without a resurrection. Life is normal (eating, drinking, etc), then a flash of light and believers leave their flesh on earth. Nobody will be planting, building, etc when Jesus comes in great power and glory at the end of the age (Matthew 24:29-31). Everybody is hiding in cave (Revelation 6:15-17). 1 Thes 4:13-18 and 1 Cor 15:50-52 is post-trib. It looks like there is only one resurrection (John 6:39,40,44,54; John 11:24; Revelation 20:5).

Well, you don't distinguish between teachings to Israel and those to the Church. For instance, the Matthew passage was uttered in the days when the Church did not exist, and in fact, was not even imagined yet. So that part could not be addressed to it. In fact, it's addressed to the "elect" of Israel, not to the Church. Your supposition that God only has one trumpet, and all trumpet-blowing means the same thing is not justifiable. It's just presumed. There's more thinking to be done here.

Pray to the original Hebraic name of God, Elohim (stands for the Father and the Messiah), and that is how you get baptized in the Holy Spirit. Baptism of the Holy Spirit means God (Elohim) literally breathing the Holy Spirit into you. Chances are you're none of you are baptized at the moment. The name that you pray to matters.

and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
    Genesis 5:24

    • @pattygreen5229
      @pattygreen5229 5 років тому +6

the scripture records that Enoch was not found because God took him, or "translated" him. The Bible does not say that Enoch went to heaven when he was translated. Instead it says he was not found.
Certainly Enoch was "translated," but what does the word "translate" mean?
The original Greek word for "translate" is metatithemi. According to Arndt-Gingrich's Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament, 1969 edition, the primary meaning is to "convey to another place . . . transfer" (p. 514).
The same Greek word is rendered "carried over" in Acts 7:16. Here we read that after Jacob died his body was "carried over"-transported, translated-to Sychem where he was buried! That's what your Bible says! Jacob was transported or translated to the place of burial!
That is why Moses said that God took Enoch. God removed-translated-him so that he was not found. God took Enoch and buried him!
In Deuteronomy 34:6 we read also how God took Moses from the people after which he died and was buried by God. "But no man knoweth his sepulcher unto this day." God removed Moses-God translated him-and he was not found either!
So Enoch was not made immortal after all! He was taken away and was not found. All his days were three hundred and sixty-five! That's as long as Enoch lived.
Notice another proof that "translate" does not mean to make immortal. It is found in Colossians 1:13: the Father "hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son." Here the Bible says that Christians are already translated-but Christians still die! We are not immortal bodies, but mortal flesh and blood. Although we were once part of the darkness of this world, now we are translated, removed from darkness in to the light of the Kingdom of God.
      Didn't Receive the Promise
Enoch is included by Paul (in Hebrews 11) among the fathers who obtained a good report through faith; but "these all, having have obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise" (Hebrews 11:39). What promise? The "hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began" (Titus 1:2).
So Enoch therefore is one of "these all" who have not yet obtained the promise of eternal life and inheritance. Enoch and all the worthies of old will receive the promise of eternal life at the return of Christ, the same time Christians obtain it (Hebrews 11:40). That is yet future!
Since Enoch has not yet inherited eternal life he must be dead! This is exactly what Paul writes in Heb. 11:13! Paul says Enoch died! Notice it! "These all died in faith, not having received what was promised." Who were these "all"?
Paul tells us: Abel, Enoch, Noah, and the patriarchs and their wives. Hebrews 11:1-12 lists those who had faith and Enoch is included among them. Then in verse 13 Paul proved that they had not inherited the promises by saying: "These all [including Enoch] died in faith."
But what about Paul's saying that Enoch "should not see death"?
      Which Death Did Enoch Escape?
Enoch lived only three hundred sixty-five years. Then what could Paul possibly have meant by saying: "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found because God had translated him"? This verse nowhere says that Enoch did not die. Rather, it says that Enoch "should not see death." But what does it mean?
Remember, there is more than one death mentioned in the Bible. There is a first death, and there is a second death (Revelation 20:6). Which death did Paul mean?
The first death is appointed unto men (Hebrews 9:27). That death cannot be humanly evaded. It is inevitable. That death Enoch died, as we have already proved.
But Paul was not writing about that death. The phrase "should not see" is in the conditional tense of the verb, having reference to a future event. It is not in the past tense, that he "did not see" death-but that he "should not see death." So this death that Enoch escaped by being translated is one that he can escape in the future on certain conditions!
Did Jesus ever speak of a death that might be escaped? He certainly did! In John 8:51 Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death"-shall never see-that is, suffer-the second death! And again in John 11:26, "Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die"-or "shall not die forever."
This death is one that can be escaped on condition that men keep the saying of Jesus and believe Him. This death is not the first death, because Christians who keep Jesus' sayings die this first death. Then the death which Enoch should escape must be the second death which will never touch those who are in the first resurrection (Revelation 20:6). And Enoch will be in the first resurrection because he met the conditions!
Enoch had faith. He believed God and walked with God, obeying him. In keeping the sayings of God, Enoch kept the sayings of Jesus too; because Jesus did not speak of Himself, but spoke what the Father commanded Him (John 14:10).
Thus Enoch met the conditions so that he should not see death. The second death shall never touch Enoch, because of his faith and obedience.

@@lindafischer1004 The book of Enoch is NOT in the Holy Scriptures. I stick to the Bible ONLY. Anything else is ADDING to God's word. Also, concerning Elijah:
There are three heavens mentioned in the Bible, not just one! And if, as Jesus said, no man, which included Elijah, had ever ascended to the heaven in John 3:13, where He came from, then the heaven into which Elijah was taken was a different heaven! Which one was it?
The third heaven is the heaven of God’s throne, where Jesus is today. Jesus, being the High Priest of God, is the only one who has the right to be in that heaven with the Father.
Notice why! Hebrews 8:1-5 explains that the original earthly tabernacle under the Old Covenant, with its most holy place, or compartment, was the type of the throne of God in heaven. Only the high priest-type of Christ as High Priest now-was allowed to enter!
The second heaven represents the expanse of this great universe-the space where we find the sun, moon, stars, comets and planets. How often do we find the Psalmist admiring the "heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon, and the stars, which Thou has ordained" (Psalm 8:3; Genesis 1:15-17).
Beside the heaven of the stars, we find that the atmosphere, the air that surrounds this world, is also called heaven. Birds fly "in the midst of heaven"- certainly not God’s throne in heaven-for we read in Genesis 1:20 of "fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." In blessing Jacob, Isaac said; "God give thee of the dew of heaven:’ and Moses joyed that the "heavens shall drop down dew" (see Gen. 27:28 and Deut. 33:28).
This first heaven, from which dew comes, means the atmosphere, where the clouds and the wind roam. Everyone of us is right now breathing the air of heaven!
Since Elijah could not have gone to the heaven of God’s throne, then to which heaven did he go?-for the Scripture reads: "and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven" (II Kings 2:1, 11).
The answer ought already be quite obvious! Elijah "went up by a whirlwind into heaven"-not to the heaven of God’s throne, but into this earth’s atmosphere, the first heaven.
There could be no whirlwind in any other place but in the atmosphere surrounding this earth-in the first heaven, in which the birds fly. You certainly have seen the great lifting power of a whirlwind, haven’t you?
The new king of Israel was another son of Ahab, Jehoram, or Joram as he is sometimes called. The beginning of his reign marked the year of the removal of Elijah (II Kings 1:18 and 3:1). During this king’s reign Elisha was the recognized prophet of God (II Kings 3:11). In the fifth year of Joram king of Israel, the son of the king of Judah began to reign along with his father in Judah (II Kings 8:16). His name also was Jehoram. The first thing he did to establish his kingdom rule was to put his relatives to the sword lest they should claim the throne from him (11 Chronicles 2 1:4). For nearly six years he followed the ways of the nations about him and did evil in God’s sight.
Almost ten years had now expired since Elijah was taken from the people. But what do you think was about to happen? A Letter Comes from Elijah!
Yes, after this wicked rule by the Jewish king, God chose Elijah to write a letter and have it sent to the king!
The contents of the letter are found in II Chronicles 21:12-15. In part it reads: "Because thou hast not walked in the ways of. . . thy father . - . but hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel.. . and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father’s house, which were better than thyself. . . thou shalt have great sickness by disease."
From the wording of the letter, it is clear that Elijah wrote it after these events had occurred, for he speaks of them as past events, and of the disease as future. Two years after the king became diseased the king died-having reigned only eight short years (II Chronicles 21:18-20).
This proves that the letter was written about ten years after Elijah had been taken to another location by the whirlwind.
God used Elijah to convey the message because he was the prophet of God in days of the present king’s father-and the son was not going in the ways of his obedient father, Jehosophat.
The letter he had others deliver was recognized as his-proving that he was known to be alive someplace. Just how much longer he lived, the Bible does not reveal. But in that "it is appointed unto men once to die"-Elijah must have died somewhat later. See Hebrews 9:27. All human beings born of Adam, and that includes Elijah, must die-for we read: "In Adam ALL DIE" (I Corinthians 15:22). Elijah was a man "subject to like passions as we are" (James 5:17)...subject to human nature and death! The prophet, being mortal flesh as we are, could not have lived much beyond his seventy years.
To suppose that God gave him the power of an endless life of nearly three thousand years already is to read into the Bible what is not there! He was mortal, subject to death, and after being lifted into the atmospheric heavens, spent the remaining years of his separate life at some little-known location on the earth, living as every human being, before he naturally died.

Just truth, first if all I am not against you but I, as a brother felt that I want to share what I have learned. These excerpts only prove that the early Catholic church had a couple of "father's" who denied or ignored other scripture, following traditions of men, the very leaven that Jesus warned about. These "father's" didn't in any major capacity convince the church pre or post protestant movement that the rapture was Biblical by any stretch of the imagination by their "self proclaimed authority". If one honestly does a word study and reads within the context of scripture, the rapture is simply not Biblical/scriptural. I don't believe that God intended for ANY contradiction in his letter to us. IF God sends two witnesses in scripture, IF by spirit and truth, then when we read a translation that seems that there is a contradiction, then we NEED to do a deeper study and rightly divide what men say and what God or a scribe has written of God's inspired word. We are not enemies. Satan is our adversary (Ephessians 6). He has tried to take away from God and wear the crown since his rise to protect the mercy seat. He tried twisting truth when he tempted Christ. He has worked to remind those who are called of their fleshly desires and to make them proud and to develop traditions apart from God's purpose.
Within the Context as clearly stated in this video, 1 Thessalonians 4 talks about the RESURRECTION. What other scriptures talk about the resurrection/harvest/Christ's return? A whole bunch. According to Ezekiel chapters 44-48, Zechariah ch 14, Isaiah 60, Revelations ch 20, Jesus will stand in Jerusalem to establish his millennial kingdom. The harvest spoken of in the parable of the wheat and the tares (Mathew 13) is the same event as the 7th trump. The tares ( wicked) are gathered first, and removed from His kingdom. The righteous, who bear fruit, who have oil stored (Mathew 25) and who have the seal of God in their minds and overcome the temptation to worship Satan will be those who Christ will choose as priests to teach those on the outside. Remember Satan's fall was pride. He persuaded angels and 1/3 of heaven to bow down to him before. He will do it again. 2 Thessalonians 2 is Paul's address to Thessalonica in regards of Christ's return. Some taught that Christ could return at that time. Everything seemed to line up with the signs of the time. Paul makes a simple and straightforward statement reminding them that Satan shows up before Jesus. No where in the Bible does it say we are secretly removed. Jesus did say that we are to make a stand, giving our testimony and that if we are willing to lose our lives that we would overcome Satan and reign with him. If Christians aren't prepared mentally or spiritually for Satan or make habits of producing spiritual fruit, then many will take his mark (half of the ten virgins in Mathew 25). He will show miracles in the sight of men. We will likely see this. Bottom line. The rapture is a doctrine that Satan wants Christians to believe, so that when he comes on scene millions will believe he is the saviour that they have been waiting for. 1 Thessalonians 4, Jesus returns (to the mount of transfiguration) on the 7th trump. Not the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th. The seventh is the furthest trump spoken of in 1 Corinthians 15. This Mystery that not all will be resurrected but all will be changed into their celestial body at the LAST TRUMP should not be a mystery. God is true, he doesn't contradict truth. Men and false teachers who give in to Satan's lies have corrupted Gods word for their own gain. Don't believe me or any man without testing what'ssaid to God'sword. Test all spirits by rightly dividing whether it is God's true words in God's word. Yes, we will be plucked/caught up(harpozo) to meet Jesus. With the cloud of witnesses (see Hebrews 12:1). When we change to spiritual bodies, and are gathered to God's kingdom, we will be caught up from everywhere in the world to New Jerusalem. The word of God is a sword that cuts both ways. Jesus will judge and divide the sheep from the goats, and those who will be apart of his kingdom and those who will be on the outside where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

the sound of the trumpets CORRELATE to the Autumn FEAST OF TRUMPETS in the Hebrew calendar as this is the ONLY feast where nobody knows exactly when it will be in the time of Autumn. hence, nobody will know the time of day or hour BUT we do know that Yeshua's coming will be in Autumn on the Feast if Trumpets.
If His death and resurrection was all around the Spring Festivals/Feasts then His Coming for His Bride will be in the Autumn Festivals/Feasts as stated, above. it is true that every year NOBODY knows exactly which day or hour the Feast of Trumpets will begin. this is the only Hebrew day like this, fact.

      Matthew 24:50
      “The lord of
      that servant
shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,”
One of the unique features of the Biblical Jewish wedding was the time of the groom's arrival - it was to be a surprise:
      • The bride took the betrothal seriously - expecting the at the end of the year long period of the betrothal.
      • She knew the approximate timing - but the exact hour or day was uncertain.
      • It was the father of the groom who would give the final approval for the marriage to begin.
      Revelation 3:3
“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch,
I will come on thee as a thief,

ROSH HASHANAH - THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS
      (THE WEDDING OF THE MESSIAH)
One final word concerning Rosh HaShanah: Many people believe that we "will not know the day or the hour of His appearing". They fail to realize, however, that this phrase taken from Matthew 24:36 is an actual common Hebrew idiom for Rosh HaShanah. Jesus' audience fully understood that what Jesus was saying was "I will come again on Rosh HaShanah at some point in the future". It would be like saying in America, "I'll see you again when we gather together to exchange presents." We automatically know that we are referring to Christmas. In like manner, we can expect to see our Messiah on some future Rosh HaShanah.
The Feast of Trumpets was known by those in ancient Jerusalem as “The Day That No Man Knows. "
Observed on the First and Second of Tishri, the celebration actually begins 29 days earlier: a series of over 90 trumpet blasts accrue for a final blowing of blasts on the climax of the celebration, the Teki'ah Gedolah, the Great Blowing.
This is the only time that the start of a month could be on the first day or the second day so it is known as …..
“The Day That No Man Knows. "
Don't know what year but this is the wedding day …
      Bless you ………

Each year the Feast Of Trumpets starts on a different day. No man knows the day our hour because back in the Bible days it took 2 witnesses to see the first sliver of the new moon in the sky and had to report it to the Sanhedrin at which time they verified it and then the start of the Festival began with the sounding of Shofars(trumpets)...the Feast continued for 2 days.

Mark Dement So you expect this to happen at the last trumpet correct? Well then don't ignore what Revelation says in regards to the 5th trumpet. The beast ascends before the last trumpet. Furthermore his army stings for 5 months. Well beyond the time line of an Autumn feast. How can you expect the last trumpet without the fulfillment of the other 6 trumpets?
"And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon." (Revelation 9:1-11)

It is not sound doctrine, but I know it startles people who grew up in a church that taught this false teaching to find out that it is not sound or traditional to Christian doctrine for the first 1,800 years of the church. The good news is that belief in a rapture is not essential to your salvation, nor is non-belief in said rapture. Neither side adds to or takes away from ones faith in Jesus as Lord. Stay rooted in scripture daily, and supplement your self learning with some trusted men of God. Do not be alarmed or afraid if you struggle with this. Pray over it. We can disagree with some points and discuss them forever and that's okay.. The waters have been muddied. Your salvation has little to do with RELIGIOUS beliefs and everything to do with accepting Jesus for who he says he is and true repentance. Getting our hearts and minds right comes first.
All that aside, we must be spiritually prepared for anything this world throws at us. Clearly many Christians will be greatly persecuted and even executed and beheaded in the very last days. That just might be some or many of us. You ready for that? That is the faith, love, perseverance and dedication we are called to have!

They say they're right and the others were wrong! I believe it's going to happen the way God says it's going to happen so leave it in His hands and pursue the relationship with Christ so that however it happens, you're close to Christ! It would make sense that Jesus would take any children in the rapture that are below the age of accountability. "James 4:17 - Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." They will not go through the tribulation....just like all those that believe in Jesus...we are not appointed to the wrath of God. It seems as both camps are fighting each other with the word of the Lord saying their rendition and context is correct. However where will the ungodly be taken up to? This is a new one to me. My understanding is that many wicked will die from the judgements or plagues brought on by the angels. Yet some people will still be saved during the tribulation by the preaching of the 144,000 witness set apart of yhe tribes of Israel. All of Us in Christ surely wait for the 2nd coming and the resurrection of the dead.

(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. The return of Christ in Revelation 19 reads very different than the event of 1 Thess 4. It is a simple conclusion that these are separate events. It is consistent pattern of God to remove His own before He brings His wrath as He did with Lot. 1 Thess 4 is said to be an encouragement. If I was to be part of the event in Rev 19 I would not find that encouraging.

In verse 31 it says He shall send his angels to gather His elect (Christians)
In 1 Thess 4:17 it says we shall be caught up to meet him in the clouds
Then you read Matthew 24:40 about one taken and one left behind and say that the wicked are taken and we are left behind.
You misinterpreted the Noah's ark metaphor for God's wrath. We christians are taken away by the Lord's angels to be safe from God's wrath and the wicked are left behind to face the trumpet and vial judgments. In Noah's ark the wicked were taken away by God's wrath in the flood and Noah and family were kept safe in the ark like how Christians will be safe with Jesus. Being left behind means facing God's wrath in both cases.
You can also read Revelation 7:9-14 about the great multitude in heaven who came out of great tribulation. Then comes the trumpet judgments
