Omg! I just saw this. I was in the Brisbane kids chorus for this run - SO MANY MEMORIES, I’m so glad an au version of the Megamix exists, it was a proper workout even for the kids!
@@lesleyannlynch121 even as i was bloke I force notice the band when they have the song rebel Without a Cause just followed them from then on in and their careers I remember him playing Nathan Robertson Home and Away 😅😅😅😅😅😅
I was in this with lane cove public school as part of the child choir. My mum forced me to try out, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We were paired with hornsby girls high for our 52 shows. They were the most amazing family for me as a 10yo. Reach out if you were part of this too xxx
Hello! I was in the first Melbourne production at the State Theatre with my school choir at Ringwood North Primary School. This production is one of my happiest and most magical childhood experiences. I never knew the megamix charted and had a video in Rage! I remember really hoping they'd do a cast recording for the Aus production and also being really bummed that they didn't let us go on the national tour but it would have been a logistical nightmare and I'm glad other kids got to share in the fun! My colour on my costume was blue. I vividly remember sitting on the ground right next to Tina Arena during the opening number. I also remember in one performance I got my foot caught in one of the moving stage parts and luckily was quickly rescued by one of the adult ensemble performers. Could have been ugly! Just saw the current Regent Theatre production in Melbourne yesterday and it filled me with joy. 💕🌈
@@bennzo82 I have a full Video recording of one of the State Theatre Dress Rehearsals from December 1992 about a Week or so before it opened. I would be happy to send it to you if you're interested. :)
I did not know that there was a music video for the Australian cast (David Dixon) of Joseph. I have only ever seen the Jason Donovan video version. I saw this at "Her Majesty's Theater" in Sydney (July of 1993). Who is the female singer at 2:00 though? When I saw this in 1993, the "narrator" (who sang this song - "Pharaoh's Story") was Tina Arena.
The Australian Chart Books use the Kent Report (known as the Australian Music Report from mid-1987) chart, which is different to the ARIA chart (although they licensed the top 50 portion of the Kent Report chart from mid-1983 to 12 June 1988), and ceased publication in early 1998. This single peaked at #53 on the ARIA chart.

That's Emma Callagham who played Gad's Wife in the Australian Cast and was also understudy Narrator.
Thanks mate. 👍
Two Australia guys who donned the Dreamcoat.
I heard this track when Jason Donovan was Joseph it's the same track used in the video.
Fellow Aussie David Dixon as Joseph-followed by another Aussie Jason Donovan as the star of the west end production of Joseph.
Hit #38 in Australia (Australian Chart Book) in 1993

David was Joseph before Jason Donovan starred as Joseph in the west end.
David was Joseph a year after Jason.
2:27 Looks and sounds a bit like Harry Belafonte.
David Dixon starred as Joseph before Phillip Schofield took the role from Jason Donovan.
And much better as well
Jason Donovan and David Dixon two stars of Joseph.
