My wife, as a kid, used to hunt for sharks teeth around the Ft Myers area, including the tidal estuary where the Caloosahatchee River empties into the gulf. Some are rather large.

I moved to Florida eight years ago (so it's still new). I'm always looking for something to experience, and many things you like are things that I like too. We're about to hit that gorgeous time of year here, and I'm gonna be trying some of the things you're showing us - soon! I'm waiting for the cool down that's gonna to hit in about a month.

Kelly, you can always get teeth in the scattered shell patches at tides edge also, there’s a place I believe on the Peace river that you can get Meglodon teeth that are huge in central Florida, there’s also Bone Valley fossil farm that’s privately owned and they have many Meglodon teeth to be found.

My ole stomping grounds.. Yes, Venice is GREAT for Meg teeth.. Or was. IF you have dive gear, they can take you out of the "surf zone" (lol - know what I mean?). Everyone around me were scooping up all sorts of great meg teeth.. I got 1 little one.. Then, at the end of my tank (haha.. I'll zero them out always) I got a legit 4" full plus! I gave one to my father, and another to an aquarium in Houston.. Wish I were there.. I'd tow you all out right off the pier about 200' out and 500 yards North.. They offered to buy my big Meg tooth for $400 right off the boat.. Nope!

Free parking is available at Blind Pass and Manasota Beach. It’s metered parking at Englewood. I found most of them in the dry shell patches on the beach. I would just sit in the middle of them and sift through them. Happy hunting!! 🦈

Nice new hobby. You may want to add a line and a float to the handle of the scoop in case it falls into the water. When I was stationed in VA, there was a place along the Potomac that eroded a tall bank each winter. In the spring, the edge of the river was loaded with fossil sharks teeth. It was a bout a 2 hour drive from DC and I think that it was a state park. Have Fun. Good Luck, Rick
