와... 비쥬얼 진짜 미쳤네요. 너무 비현실적으로 예뻐서 이 세상이 아닌 천상계의 머랭쿠키 같아요. 머랭은 어떻게 두시간이나 구워도 그 색깔과 형태를 그대로 유지하는건지 넘 신기해요. 오히려 굽고나니 색이 더 맑고 예뻐진 느낌이네요.

For anyone that hasn't tasted meringue before and is wondering how it tastes, on its own with no flavouring added it tastes kind of like vanilla cotton candy (or in other words, cotton candy with no flavouring), since it's just egg white and sugar (and sometimes a bit of icing/powdered/confectioners sugar), but not exactly the same. The egg white doesn't really alter the flavour an awful lot or at least not that I can tell, it just provides texture.
The consistency you're looking for is stiff peaks, or in other words, when you pull the meringue mixture upwards and make a peak, it doesn't collapse back down or really fall over. If you're at the right consistency you should be able to hold the bowl upside down without the mixture falling. If you accidentally overbeat your eggs you can add a fresh (unbeaten) egg white and mix it in for a few seconds.
You can flavour meringues pretty much whatever flavour you want, so for example if you wanted them to taste like vanilla, you'd add a bit of vanilla extract. Same with strawberry, banana, or any other flavour basically.
The texture when they're finished really depends on how long you leave them in the oven for and what temperature you bake at. It's recommended to bake at a very low temperature because you're not trying to bake the meringue really, but trying to dry it out. Obviously the longer you leave them in the oven for, the harder they become, it depends on preference, some people enjoy a firmer exterior shell with a soft interior, some people enjoy a firm meringue through and through.
If you are adding anything to your meringue such as flavouring or food colouring do be careful about what you're adding and how much, especially if you're not experienced with making meringues, it can be very difficult to add to the meringue without causing it to go runny.
