    For anyone that hasn't tasted meringue before and is wondering how it tastes, on its own with no flavouring added it tastes kind of like vanilla cotton candy (or in other words, cotton candy with no flavouring), since it's just egg white and sugar (and sometimes a bit of icing/powdered/confectioners sugar), but not exactly the same. The egg white doesn't really alter the flavour an awful lot or at least not that I can tell, it just provides texture.
    The consistency you're looking for is stiff peaks, or in other words, when you pull the meringue mixture upwards and make a peak, it doesn't collapse back down or really fall over. If you're at the right consistency you should be able to hold the bowl upside down without the mixture falling. If you accidentally overbeat your eggs you can add a fresh (unbeaten) egg white and mix it in for a few seconds.
    You can flavour meringues pretty much whatever flavour you want, so for example if you wanted them to taste like vanilla, you'd add a bit of vanilla extract. Same with strawberry, banana, or any other flavour basically.
    The texture when they're finished really depends on how long you leave them in the oven for and what temperature you bake at. It's recommended to bake at a very low temperature because you're not trying to bake the meringue really, but trying to dry it out. Obviously the longer you leave them in the oven for, the harder they become, it depends on preference, some people enjoy a firmer exterior shell with a soft interior, some people enjoy a firm meringue through and through.
    If you are adding anything to your meringue such as flavouring or food colouring do be careful about what you're adding and how much, especially if you're not experienced with making meringues, it can be very difficult to add to the meringue without causing it to go runny.

    A tip for everyone. Make sure to use a water based food coloring (regular liquid food colors) and not a fat based one (such as gel food coloring). The meringue cannot take fat which makes it lose its stiffness and become runny.
    EDIT: as some rightly pointed out in the comments, some gel food coloring may be water based too, and in which case those are fine to use. If you get runny meringue tho might be good to try a different kind of coloring 👍

      so kind that you mentioned, I made two batches, one with the food coloring melted, the other batch was fine with matcha powder as the coloring, maybe that is why!

    와... 비쥬얼 진짜 미쳤네요. 너무 비현실적으로 예뻐서 이 세상이 아닌 천상계의 머랭쿠키 같아요. 머랭은 어떻게 두시간이나 구워도 그 색깔과 형태를 그대로 유지하는건지 넘 신기해요. 오히려 굽고나니 색이 더 맑고 예뻐진 느낌이네요.

    This was so satisfying to watch. Seems like a pretty simple recipe, until you get to the piping bags. Lol! I love merengue lollipops and I had no idea what went into making meringue.

    These taste so good and were so easy to make! I had this saved for literally four years and only made these now but they are great. Used gel food coloring like in the video but made it orange to make pumpkins meringue for Halloween! Turned out perfectly

    Iv started making these kids love them I wanna do them as lolly pops what lolly sticks can be used as they have to go in the oven. I have the normal withe sticks but before I do it will they not melt? Thank you

    My favorite cookie. This is a good way to use your piping tip/bags. Might not be as fancy looking but putting on a straw would make them more special.

      Don’t worry. The oven temperature is low and does not burn.

    100 gramos de claras de huevo
    150 gramos de azúcar blanco
    1 chucharada de extracto de vainilla
    4 mililitros de jugo de limón
    3 colorantes comestibles
    Granillos, grageas y perlas plateadas comestibles al gusto
