DIY Dr Strange Costume Easy Magic Circle Prop
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2017
- This is the first part of a DIY Dr. Strange costume, a cheap and easy magic circle disk (the rest of the costume will follow in the coming weeks). This was requested by user "Dr. Strange" (image that), rengader47351, and tacotaco224. The plastic I used for this Dr. Strange magic disk came from an old brownie box. It was a bit smaller than I would have liked, but it was what I had available, however, if you want to be more authentic, you can use a larger box to make a larger magic circle.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Clear plastic sheet (the type of boxes baked goods come in work perfectly)
Scissors
Neon green or orange puffy paint
A print out of your chosen magic symbol
Strong, clear tape

Thank you for this tutorial! My son is going to be Doctor Strange for Halloween.
Nice
lucky guy
That looks amazingly good to be so simple. I did notice that on video, it looked a bit "cleaner" when seen from the plastic side as opposed to the painted side.
Wow! That's really good!
Thanks 😊
Thank you for making this video. It helped me realize how I could do a dragon age inquisition inquisitors hand been wanting to cosplay as the inquisitive for quite some time but I wanted to figure out how to make a glowing hand and that helped me figure it out. Thank you so much.
Nice, glad you found this helpful 😊 Sounds like you've got a good cosplayer mind, being able to see a tutorial for one thing, and knowing how you can use the same technique for something else 👍
cool! keep up the great work!
I absolutely love your Doctor Strange costume tutorials, I will definitely be using them when I make my costume.
Thanks, and good luck on your costume 😊

The Woodland Elf Awesome channel!! Cheap and easy ways to make the things look expensive and awesome. For this Dr. Strange magic symbol, what can we use instead of puffy paint
Awsome

Thanks 😊 Glad you enjoyed it. I'm doing the Eye of Agamotto next Thursday too.
The Woodland Elf yeahhh nice I like that you reply you're the only youtuber that made something I suggested
NICE BRO
Super
This actually really cool
Thanks 😊
Could you please do Eye Of Agamotto or Mjölnir?
Yup, I'm working on the Eye of Agamotto now actually. I'll be posting it next Thursday, so stay tuned.
The Woodland Elf can u make a iron man suit costume and helmet
Joseph Hwang - I did do an explanation video of how we made our Iron Man costume a few months back. It was a really intensive costume, not one I'd want to make again honestly, but I did explain it mostly here: ua-cam.com/video/FKET2OG9cBI/v-deo.html Basically it was a lot of pepakura.
With a bit bigger plastic this would be spot on! Clear acrylic would be great too if cutting it out was easier...lol
If anyone knows a good way to cut out an acrylic circle easily, I'm all ears 👂🏻
The Woodland Elf MAKE A 3-D MODEL OF JURASSIC WORLD AMUSEMENT PARK!
Tanks
Can you please share that magic circle layout? I can't find the original one anywhere. Thanks.
Yup, here's the one I used: img0.etsystatic.com/171/0/5994012/il_570xN.1154389660_7hv2.jpg (I simplified it a bit because there were so many lines)
I want to get this tattooed on me. Where did you find the template or a picture of it to draw as i cant find any clear ones
This is the one that I traced: img0.etsystatic.com/171/0/5994012/il_570xN.1154389660_7hv2.jpg
It's a little thing, @UnderratedReview, but please definitely be careful about tattooing symbols on yourself that you don't know the meaning of. If you ascribe ANY significance to magical symbolism or arcane theory, not knowing what you're making permanent is a bad idea. Of course, if you don't care and just want to get it because it looks cool, more power to ya!
well i am defiantly going to see all this channels videos.
Hope you enjoy them 😊
Good
Thanks 😊
Wow that is actually really good. Where did you get your paint from? I might use this technique for making a Tony Stark Transparent phone :)
You can get the puffy paint from JoAnn Fabrics, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, any type of craft store like that. For Tony's phone, you could also use two sheets of plastic and print a picture of whoever he's calling and stick it in between the two sheets of plastic to show who he's calling, and then use the paint on the outside of the sheets for the rest of the details.
That could work. My initial idea was to do similar to what you've done and get a design and trace around it onto transparent acrylic. But that idea to have it "sandwiched between two layers is quite clever. I might use that idea. I'm gonna make the Iron Man 2 with one design and Iron Man 3/age of ultron with the picture idea and take inspiration from your omintrix hologram design to have the orange JARVIS AoU pop up from the phone. Thank you for your advice. Keep up the great videos, you've also inspired me to do Bucky Barnes now too ☺
Good luck 😊
Thanks 😊 you too in all your upcoming videos. It would be cool if you could have a go at making the Dr Strange outfit to complement this :) also could you also try the Vulcan IDIC please? :) thanks again stay awesome 😊
Yup, I'm planning on doing the cape and robe to finish off the Dr. Strange costume, but it'll be a little later in the year since they're a bit more in depth than the magic disk and eye of Agamotto were. And yes, I'll add the Vulcan IDIC to my list too.
This is great! Could I use hot glue instead of puffy paint?
Yup that'd work too, though you'll have to paint it afterward or use colored glue sticks. And I'd test it on a small spot first to make sure the plastic can withstand the heat.
Thanks!
Like Mr Popo said: All these squares make a circle 😶
Ok, that's a Dragon Ball Z reference right? (I don't do a lot of anime, but I recognize the name Mr. Popo)
The Woodland Elf It’s from Dragon Ball Z abridged. A comedy spoof of Dragon Ball
Ok, gotcha. Thanks for the explanation.
Nice, I like it. :) I was wondering if you would be interested in trying to make some of the uniforms from Star Trek the Motion Picture ('Cause I decided to go forward with my Star Trek fan film after all). It doesn't have to be exact, to be honest I just need a cheap way of simulating the look and I'm kinda stumped. Keep up the good work! ;)
Sure, I'll add 'em to my to-do list. Just double checking, we're talking about the famous "pajama" style uniforms right?
The Woodland Elf Yeah, The generic crew uniforms. And the green and white admiral's uniform Kirk was wearing in the beginning.
Ok, I'll add to my list. It'll probably be a few months yet, but I'll let you know when it's posted.
The Woodland Elf No rush. I've got almost a year to work on it anyway. ;) Live Long and Prosper.
Ok, sounds good. LLAP
Where did you get the image for the print out? I keep trying to find it but all I see are other symbols.
The one I used I found here: img0.etsystatic.com/171/0/5994012/il_570xN.1154389660_7hv2.jpg
thank you!
Thnaks for the help i can make mona magic circle form genshinnimpact
Good luck 😊
How much Puffy Paint did you have to use?
One of those standard little bottles is enough (though my circle was small, so if you're making a bigger one, you might need more)
Whats the other name for puffy paint and where can i buy it?
They also call it 3D paint, or Scribbles. You can get in pretty much any craft store like JoAnn's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc. Or they also sell it on Amazon.
Im doing this in orange and green with wired lights for my Doctor Strange costume
Ooh, wired lights, that'll look awesome! 👍
Cool, good luck with it. 😊
@@Thewoodlandelf thanks
