Creating a pump characteristic curve using python, jupyter, fluke and rigol oscilloscope, multimeter

  • The next, and unnecessary, step in the Deming Marvelette pump repair and project -- I wanted to characterize the pump's performance and glean any information that would help tune the planned water system.
    Using Linux/Ubuntu (though Mac and Windows could be used), running Jupyter Notebook with python3 - I show here how I captured pressure and current/amperage data from the Rigol ds1054z oscilloscope (via LXI Ethernet) and Fluke 289 logging multimeter (via USB / Serial /Infrared cable).
