    When I was in college (@ University) this was our favorite go-to meal when it was my and my dear, late friend Maxie's night to cook. She was a born Jamaican, and quite a lovely girl who taught me this dish. She called it Bully - beef and Cabbage, I called it delicious!

    You are very lucky to have your mom show you how to make Jamaican food. My mom passed away and I wish she were here so I could videotape the way she made some of my favorites. Thank the both of you! I refer to your videos often! God bless you both.

    Nice! I just made CBC today for St. PADDYS day☘️🇮🇪☘️☘️☘️ we use corned beef brisket w cabbage,carrots taters n onions. It’s a tradition celebrating our Irish heritage. I brought some to a friend that owns a Jamaican,soul food rest in town,because she cooks everyday for everybody! I figured I’d cook for her n hers n show them how we get down on St. PADDYS day❤️💛💚
    She told me that u guys make it as well w canned CB! Looks delish,and u are a sweeet soul....I’ll have to try ur recipe ONE. day :)

    do you put anything like oil , water in the pan before adding your onions ..cabbage etc? what temp is the stove on before adding the corned beef? and also do you wait for the cabbage to become half way done before adding corned beef?

    I've never use canned corn beef before. Does it taste more like corn beef hash or the traditional brined corn beef that I'm accustomed too?

  • @bethanyfja

    This is exactly how we cook it in Suriname too...only...we kill the beef again in the pot, hihihi :o)

  • @Kida001

    Have you ever done this with brisket? I'm not a fan of canned meat.

    • @TricaQueP
      @TricaQueP 6 років тому

      Kida001 it's more like a Jamaican quick fix, back in the day corned beef was on the cheaper side (that has since changed 😂 ). But it's traditionally done with the canned meat cause it was more affordable. You can try it with brisket but I reckon it's gonna be a lil different.
