Excellent - fixed my CLP310. Symptoms were that there was no motor sound at power up and the toner lights flashed for a while but then stopped and the main light stayed red. One of the sensors was open circuit and a tap on kitchen work-top reset it. Printer back in action. Worst bit was getting the side panel off - had to use perseverence. Huge thanks for sharing this fix with the community  Would have sent you a message to say thanks... Thanks!! BTW - For testing after resetting the sensor, the top cover needs to be in place :-)
Samsung CLP 310N. Status: Remaining toner container changed (new), all toner full, but error (red LED) on the status indicator (system error). After 2 days error search I have after these video everything expanded and measured, behold, HERE is the error. Thanks for the tip and the video. Great!
Thank you so much. You really saved me. My CLX-3185 service manual was referring about replacing the NTC thermistor and nothing about the thermostats that you did. Maybe Samsung lost something in translation from Korean to English... I hope that the thermostats will work again in case of another overheat after the "smack"...
Thank you so much. I have the exact same printer, and I followed your illustration and I have fixed it, which I was really puzzled and didn't know what to do. I appreciate your help....keep it up...!
Wow, thank you. I had just replaced one of the drums on my Samsung CLX-3175FN printer, used it a few times, then had the "system error" message. I followed your instructions and got it working, after I finished laughing at the idea of rapping the part on the bench. Not laughing now though, it worked! Sounds like my fuser has stopped remembering how to go into standby mode though, so I'll look into getting a new fuser at some point. For now, I'll just cycle the printer on and off as needed, which isn't all that often, and I now know how to reset that thermostat. Thanks again.
Thank you very, very much!!! I too can confirm this works on the CLP-310. One note though, I followed the instructions, powered on the printer and still the same result. powered down and on again and then it worked.
Friend, I shake it and it rattles. Is that okay? or should it stop rattling after the impact? Something inside him rattles when I shake it. Or should it stop rattling after the impact?
I think it should stop rattling. You have to check for continuity to see If electricity can flow from one terminal to the other. Use a tester or make some kind of tester to use.
I had the same error on my CLX-3175 so started to follow the instructions here. When I got the fuser out I found several sheets of paper wrapped tightly around the roller. Unfortunately the fuser had fused the toner to both paper surfaces. Eventually I managed to get the paper out so I refitted the fuser and the error message went away.
thank you for the video....but i was wondering ...how do i open the cover...your video starts with the outer covers removed...how to i remove those...if its okay to create another video on how to open the printer till i get to that point on this video
put the printer on the left side (from standing in front of it), take a screwdriver (or your fingernails) and annul (release) the two pins on the bottom of your printer to release the right side of the chassis. Thats it.
Thank you so much for the video, it worked!! I had no continuity tester so I just slammed the thing and hoped for the best. Hardest thing was to open the side panel but finally cracked it thanks to other users' comments :) I can't believe the thing is working again yay!!
thank you very much for that tutorial, it saved me a lot of money for a new fuser. Worked perfectly on my October 2008 manufactured Samsung clx3175fw printer. This model has only one thermistor and if the reset worked (by smacking it on the table with the silver side down) it produces a rustling ring noise. I dont have any devices to check continuity, just followed the tutorial and it works nice now.
do you know a shop who sells these thermistors? I asked "Conrads" (a german supplier for professional electricians) but they can't procure the single thermistor for the clx3175fw, probably because they want to sell the complete new fuser instead. The clx3175fw has only one single thermistor and i am wondering if its more secure to exchange the "treated" old one with a new one... BTW the Samsung printers are working great under Linux.
Thanks for the excellent video, however it didn't work for me. I tested the continuity, and it was ok, but taped on them anyway. Reassemble it but I still got the red light, it must have other issues somewhere.
with the Samsung CLX-3170FN it was also working (a little different) your Tipp was saving my Printer. Fehler in Deutsch: Systemfehler - Drucker aus / ein
Great job - thanks for the info, did not work for me, suspect fuser heating element is gone. Should have tested while I had it apart. Should just be able to just test for continuity in fuser element. Thanks anyways.
Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I removed the fuser and there was no issue with continuity. In addition to the cycle power error, the motor is not turning when the printer starts. I removed the main board and found a few electrolitic capacitors with very low resistance accross (
Question...Do these instructions work for the Samsung CPL-310? I have the same "system error: cycle power". I notice that when the power is turned on, the printer cycles thru the LEDs and there is a definite 'click' just before the red error light comes on. I'm guessing that is the thermistor trying to switch on. [?]
+Blades1889 Well I don't have a CLP-310 but in my description you can see I say it should work on CLP-310N. The N is probably just to designate it as a network printer. The click is probably a relay shutting it down because the thermistor is already clicked off. You can test it with a continiuity tester when you take it apart. It should have continuity from one end to the other.
+Fix It Yourself! You, Sir, are a top man. All working now. So, yes, the instructions do work for the CLP-310. Checked for continuity (one of the 2 thermistors was not working). The good one made a slight rattling noise when shaken. The bad/stuck one made no noise. Tapped (with increasing force) the bad one until it also started to rattle. Then checked for continuity, both OK and re-assembled. Cheers!
+Blades1889 Thats good to hear because these really are great printers, I love mine and hope I can keep it working for a long time. Glad you got yours sorted. Cheers!
Hi, i repair the printer as your inctruction and the printer work but, after print one page, return same error, red ligth on. Is possible to replace the thermostat and where is possible to buy?
Hi, My samsung printer CLX 6210FX has same message. it was for few month, I could not fix it. Do you think I can do the same thing? Do you know where is the fuser located on my model?
Did this. Absolute breeze to take the fuser out and put it back in. Problem is it made no difference because tapping the thermostat didn't restore continuity. If the thermostat is dead then I can't seem to find any replacement in the UK on the internet. These Samsung printers produce great results when they work, but they are totally unreliable.
+Andy Waterhouse did I say tap it? You have to really smack it on the table to make the sping inside flip back to its original position. Its like one of those clicker springs. It pops out one way and when you smack it on the table it pops back into position.
that is what i ended up doing and it worked, i had emptied the bin and couldn't see any reason to clean it any further, didn't know there was another failsafe on the bin.

Thanks!!. I follow your instructions fixed my CLP-315w. You are not only save my printer, but save the earth!!
You're welcome. :)
thanks a lot!! fixed my wife's old 315 she s not using often. Now Samsung apparently felt life cycle is over - which I could successfully dispute!
Worked for me. Great. Where do you get replacement thremistors?
Thanks! Worked like a charm with a clx3170fn that quit working 8 years ago.
You're welcome!
Samsung CLP 310N.
Status: Remaining toner container changed (new), all toner full, but error (red LED) on the status indicator (system error).
After 2 days error search I have after these video everything expanded and measured, behold, HERE is the error.

glad I could help. :)
And good to hear that it worked on your model printer.
They definitely work after the smack.
I had to redo mine a second time.
Thanks for sharing. Resetting the thermistors worked briefly on my CLX 3175 but then I got an "overheat error" and saw smoke lol. Oh well
Thank you so much. I have the exact same printer, and I followed your illustration and I have fixed it, which I was really puzzled and didn't know what to do. I appreciate your help....keep it up...!
Great to hear!
I just fixed CLP-2160. It was showing error: low heat error cycle power just after powering it. Very helpful video! THANK YOU
You're welcome.
Thanks for adding your comment.
It will help others using Samsung CLP-2160
Wow, thank you. I had just replaced one of the drums on my Samsung CLX-3175FN printer, used it a few times, then had the "system error" message. And thanks for commenting.
Oh and 3 years later and I'm still just turning on my printer when needed and it's still working.
Genious! Thank you so much, I almost broke the whole printer, but now it works again!
Thank you very, very much!!!
I too can confirm this works on the CLP-310.
One note though, I followed the instructions, powered on the printer and still the same result.
powered down and on again and then it worked.
Glad to hear that. Thanks for confirming the CLP-310
tell me, did you change any parts in the printer during the repair? or is it enough to take it apart and put it back together?
I didn't change any parts. Just reset the thermistor. If you have continuity it's good.
I failed. after I shook it and tapped it, nothing worked(((((
you have to give it a good smack on the table or work bench. If it's still rattling, do it again. Test for continuity each time.
Great. It also worked with my CLX-3175FN. Thank you very much for your Video. It was also the error (in german): Systemfehler - Drucker aus/an.
+Claus Hertl I'm happy it worked for you also. And thanks for the confirmation that it also works on th CLX-3175N , thAt is good news.
Great Job and thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for the info,it helped a lot. I also found the fuser was clogged with paper which was causing it to overheat.
Glad to hear you got it fixed.
Isn't it nice when you can fix something without having to spend a lot of money?
thank you for the video....but i was wondering ...how do i open the cover...your video starts with the outer covers removed...how to i remove those...if its okay to create another video on how to open the printer till i get to that point on this video

Hi and Greetings from USA.
Glad it worked out for you.

If it's working I wouldn't worry about getting a new one.
If you search on amazon or aliexpress you could probably find a suitable replacement.
ok, then i'll leave it like it is and forget about a new thermistor, its not overheating anyways for 3 days now :-)
Thanks for the excellent video, however it didn't work for me. I tested the continuity, and it was ok, but taped on them anyway. Reassemble it but I still got the red light, it must have other issues somewhere.
well at least you know now.
Your video saved my printer. Thanks !
Awesome!
I just fixed my printer. Thanks so much. And I am pretty proud of myself now too. ;-)
That's awesome and you should be proud.
:)
Thank you so much! This saved us from having to get a new printer!
yea its good to have something you can fix
Glad it helped. ;)
Thanks! I fixed my printer!! I love you guys
Awesome
with the Samsung CLX-3170FN it was also working (a little different) your Tipp was saving my Printer.
Fehler in Deutsch: Systemfehler - Drucker aus / ein
+Ulrich Jaeger Awesome! So it is confirmed to work on CLX-3170FN now. It's a bit different but uses the same part.
Thank you very much from Italy ! i solved the problem with your perfect instruction step by step!
You very welcome Mondo. Thanks for posting your results.
Meant to say you are very welcome Mondo.
Thank you very much, your video is yet good and helped me to fix the problem
Great to hear! Thanks for commenting.
what kind of device are you using to test for continuity because I need to buy that device so I can save my printer
I'm just using a multimeter to check for continuity.
Magik! Thanks maaaan
I've also fixed my printer thanks to you! Dankjewel :)
Great job - thanks for the info, did not work for me, suspect fuser heating element is gone. Should have tested while I had it apart. Should just be able to just test for continuity in fuser element. Thanks anyways.

How did the board replacement go?
Thanks! I fixed my printer.
cantabriaaa good to hear it :)
Come smonto il pannello lateraale?
Perfekt on my CLX 3175. Many thanks!!!

Hello, excuse my ignorance, how to set the meter to control the melting?
Thank you
Im not sure what you are referring too.
What meter and whats melting?
Just fixed mine!
Thanks for the video it was very helpful.
+telx2010 one is glad to be of service :)
Hi, i repair the printer as your inctruction and the printer work but, after print one page, return same error, red ligth on.
Is possible to replace the thermostat and where is possible to buy?
+Giulio Moirano I believe it is possible to replace. Here is a link to the thermistor on Amazon: amzn.to/1F6HRsf
Fuser is here: amzn.to/1F6I6n8
Great tutorial - worked for me !
Hi, My samsung printer CLX 6210FX has same message. it was for few month, I could not fix it. Do you think I can do the same thing? Do you know where is the fuser located on my model?
Zz Lu I don't think its the same. You will have to disassemble it to find out.
What is the trick to put the side panel back. We are unable to reinstall the side panel. Thanks!
I remember it was tricky to get it back on. Maybe someone will chime in and help.
Thanks a lot, that really saved my bacon !
Glad to have helped.

hi... how do you open the side panel?
It's been over 4 yrs, I forget.
@@FixItYourself Thanks anyway!
GODLIKE. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome.
i have a clp 315 printer and i emptied the toner recycle bin and now it keeps giving me an error code to replace the bin. is there a reset for that?
Did you clean the inside of the bin?
There is a sensor that sees the blackness and causes the printer to shut down.
So if it is clear it should be ok.
clean it with clear water till its totally empty, then dry it for one day and put it in...
that is what i ended up doing and it worked, i had emptied the bin and couldn't see any reason to clean it any further, didn't know there was another failsafe on the bin.
Really thank yoo im from brazil tis really work, ty
You're welcome, glad it helped you. They really are good printers
My thermistors were 2 little buttons x 2 not like the picture. I guess they didn't want an easy fix to be available
Which model printer do you have? Maybe you can just replace them without replacing the whole thing.
Thank you!.. it worked
Great! glad it helped.
what does he check the little batteries for at 5:30? im not too good at english and i couldnt understand it
checking for continuity. If no continuity the electricity can't flow so its shuts down.
thanks a lot. i ll give it a try today
omg you are the man! it worked!!
Thanks.
you're welcome
How do I remove the side?
2 screws in the front I believe
I have the same model, but i lost its tray. could any one help me to use it without any trya
maybe you can try buying a broken clp-315w on ebay just for the tray. Or maybe someone has a tray for sale, you never know.
i am glad and happy to see your reply, but i live in india. It is not available. i ll search on ebay.
Ok I'll try agaim
