Chris Coppings talent was on full display in this song. His keyboard work was so beautiful and appropriate in this number. He was such an often overlooked member of this fantastic Procol Harem lineup.
Gary Brooker on piano and vocals; Barrie J.Wilson on drums; Alan Cartwright on bass; Mick Grabham on guitar; Chris Copping on organ.... An extraordinary stuff.....
You're welcome. I love to any new-old Procol Harum video. There are many of them in UA-cam; they're all interesting. watch?v=Y0jPYmihk10 watch?v=yh-EXlDn9tA watch?v=rUxv6zqoYLY and more... enjoy it!
A really unique band, and I believe their biggest fans, including me, probably like and appreciate the classical influences that are obvious in many of their songs to one degree or another. I think Gary Brooker could have written some really nice classical music for at least a small orchestra, as did Tony Banks of Genesis.

The lyrics of this song evoke a "dark ages' feel and yet could have been written to describe today's sad state of affairs. Thank you
This song is hypnotizing - once you have started listening to it you simply must do it till the very last note.
Procol Harum is one the best bands of all rock times & the most underrated.
they suffer greatly from not having their original organ player and Trower
absolute masterpiece...!!!🌸💚💜💛

Le son de la video est assez mat ;( mais quelle merveilleuse architecture sonore !
wish that it was Louder
PS is Chris using a Roland SH1000 mono synth? I played one of those in Grandma Moses!
No sir. It is the first model of the ARP Soloist. 1973. Fairly rare these days. It appears the Roland was a fairly close copy of the ARP.
Im stoned on them really
GARRY ok !!album Grand Hotel§§
not one of their best performances especially lead sounding ridiculous ..wtf was that anyway? ridiculous. Everyone else was stellar
that synth music was pure shite
