I’ve got my pothos rooting in my 125 gal fish tank and a leaf won’t even finish unfurling before it sends out a new one! All I’m having to do at this point is just keep the water topped off, but it’s happy as can be

Great update! Such an innovative idea to bribe Jeff's dog to help your cause. 😂
I was wondering if you could get some kind of waterproofing sealer just for the bottom of your plank? There are spays and brush ons and things. I have no experience with it, but just wanted to share the thought. 💚
Can't wait for the next update!

Both of you are quite creative in your approach. I have never tried putting a plant on a pole or plank but this is giving me an itch to try.

I grow mine on moss poles but only because of their growth rate. My newest leaf on a golden pothos is 14in. It reached this size in only 4 months and ill be chopping to extend in about a month max. With the wood plank once you outgrow it the plant needs to be ripped off to upsize. Niw you could attach another plant but how awkward of a process. The poles just come together for this situation much easier and it encourages root growth that is also advantageous to nutrient intake. Really speeding up the process as well.

Wow so much snow! We had a dusting of snow last week here in Cornwall uk, but was gone by the afternoon. Hope you feel better soon. I really enjoy your videos, I like to see the good and the bad experiments, well done you. Best wishes to you and your family😊

When I do mine,I will try coating the stake with some melted soy wax ??? Just the part that's in the dirt. Can you prespray plant bug defense, on the stake b4 you start the plant on the stake???😮

Very fun! I feel like there really can be so much chance involved. I have a pothos all grown from single node leafless mid cuttings and just one vine is at least 3x longer that then next one down. It just took off like a shot in comparison and they were all grown and potted together!

Honestly way too invested in this... just set up my first ever moss pole a few days ago, so I almost feel like I'm going on this ride with you guys, lol. It'll be fun to see how mine progresses alongside yours, and who wins the race in the end!
(I'm not winning anything, but I am having fun)

Between the biological warfare and pet sabotage, this is getting intense! But I’m rooting for you!
My own pothos on a plank (started with a handicap - it was already potted up several leaves when you started two months ago) has put out two new leaves, and the second is a bit larger than the first. However as I look carefully now, I see a tiny little spider mite web under the first leaf. Gonna have to spray very carefully, as you said…

Oof, the great pothos race is throwing up 2024 plant experiment ideas like no-one's business - water rooting at different pHs, with/without bubbles and would burning pine planks give them longevity?
Hard not to root for Jeff when that man('s advice) turned my scraggly jade plant into a small tree tho

I think you're not being fair to yourself. You have to remember that not every cutting is going to respond the same way. I think if you and Jeff would have taken 3 cuttings each, you would have had much different outcomes to your experiences, which you did a great job at. It's like taking 3 different cuttings in a jar of water, and each one will have different rooting lengths and actions. I think if you guys did this experiment again with doing several cuttings, your experiments would be much differently. Then do another video on those reactions.
