I’m 36 and I can appreciate your channel. All the younger channels seem to only focus on what the hypebeast thinks is cool - or what Travis Scott wore and I can’t get with that. I never got into shoes to make money on them or resell them so I always appreciate likeminded and like-aged people who see the shoes the way I do. I have always bought what I liked and what I liked just so happened to be pretty cool. I owe it to my parents though because they started my journey by buying me my first pair of Jordans when I was 5 but even before that I had British Knights and whatever the hell else I thought was cool in the late 80’s.
I’ve tried to leave the “shoe game”multiple times but I can never stay away. Wish we could go back to the 90’s where you could find Jordan’s at A&N and the 1’s were considered kinda wack.
Correct, 37 here and his love for the 90s kicks we grew up, it’s very nice to see in UA-cam.

It’s so refreshing and rejuvenates the love and respect for all of the other people who have been in this “game” from the start and who do it for the pure love and nostalgia - which is why I do it as well. Mostly I hate the fact these little ass kids call every shoe that can’t be resold for double it’s price “🧱” just further separates me from that generation. I miss the days you could walk in any random shoe store and find a hidden gem because the resale market wasn’t there. I refuse to more than retail! Nike & Adidas are making enough money off me, no way I’m supplementing someone else’s income as well. Hard pass for me

I have a pair and was so excited to get them. I get what you’re saying about the quality. I’m just happy to see Nike investing back into the era that made me fall in love with sneakers. So many great basketball kicks were made in the 90s and it’s refreshing to walk into a store and pay retail for a classic.

I actual had the black/red one a few years back and it was my go-to shoes for the game. Whenever I put this on, I played much better than any other shoes I was wearing. To me it is just damn comfortable. Right amount of cushion, excellent stability in the forefoot, and good traction to me. Good fit and great support. I know it sounds wired but this shoe and the air more uptempo are my two favourite basketball shoes for my game. 90s basketball shoes are the best!

I did the same thing! I was looking for them and waiting and just jumped and got them online. This brings nostalgia to me and I wish the air bubble was bigger and metallic was brighter like my originals in 97. But now that I got these, I can’t wait for the Since Apparel gameboy shirt it will go great with this shoe!!!!

When you stated that they messed them up the Flight 89's immediately came to mind. I love the 89's as a silhouette but I refuse to wear them other than in the crib because they are so uncomfortable.

Reggie Miller wore these on 97. His first signature shoe. Had em for 159.99 in 1997. Oh the memories. Great review!! I have the 4 foot cardboard poster from my local NJ mall where I worked.

I’m glad I waited because I just got these through Nike app on discount! Trip down memory lane, it was my freshman year and my best friend was rocking this pair! Head turning all over the place on our walk to and from school. My friend beat his pair to the ground! Unfortunately my family couldn’t afford this pair upon original release. I always liked the pair, but never was able to afford a pair. I’m glad Nike keeps bringing back these Retro’s! I remember watching Reggie Miller rock em on court. What a time to be alive! 💪👟🔥🔥🔥

I saw these yesterday at the Ontario (California) Foot Locker. They look cool, but the Black/Neon Green pair are the ones that I like. This colorway reminds me of the Air Monarchs, not that there's something wrong with that.

I was going to order these shoes but thanks to your honest opinion I'll just wait til Nike decides to put quality materials back into their retro shoes. I've always wanted a pair of these Uptempo growing up in the 90s and I still do but Nike needs to quit fooling around with the quality though.
2 weeks ago I tried to record an edit a review of this actual shoes and after 8 hours in total I gave up.

Also there are 3 unique differences in the white pair that the other 3 don't have which was the focus of my review. I'll probably just rerecord it and upload it if nobody mentions the differences.
The nostalgia! These were cool and all, but the Uptempos peaked with Max Uptempo 3/97. That shoe was EPIC.
Best basketball shoes I ever had back late 90s. Fit like a glove. Unfortunately, suffered a severe sprain while wearing it in a game, and despite healing, my ankle hurts when I wear the shoe. The contours and folds of the shoe matched the exact point of the sprained ankle because it fitted like a glove.
I wish they didn’t play around with the release date. I bought them a month ago on StockX for 230. They now under retail in my size at 150.00 after more pairs got released. Multiple retails stores even had my size a couple weeks ago when I was In the store. Was so upset to see that. 😞 never again will I jump the gun like that on a pair of Nikes.

I had the white and blue ones when I was in high-school. I'm thinking it was either 99 or 2000. Anyway I saved up and paid like 230 some old dollars but back then that was like 400 of today's money. Anyway I felt like a boss stompin' around in those 😆
The only air max shoes I ever liked is the classic bw and the 180.
These look ok though, but I won't be copping even though high tops are my favourite type of shoes, although these are more mid compared to shoes like the 89 Reebok pump, twilight zone, nike command force, and the pressure. Now those are hightops.
I've always liked these. I just got rid of my white and blue pair that I had for many years. I had heard that the materials on this new one weren't quite as good as before, too bad. I'll probably try to pick up the white and green colorway, when the drop. I wish that Nike would release the Reggie Miller House of Hoops colorway! Thanks for another great video!

Agreed! I tried them on in footlocker and couldn’t stop staring at my toebox. It’s hideos. And he’s right, the leather in this color is awful. It felt so stiff and hard. I hated them on foot.

I took my pair back to the store today couldn’t get over the large to cap that mad the shoe look Mitch match and the check on the toe was had a super creases I’ll grab another pair eventually but man for the price the Hoya uptempo is great and got them in the mail straight to the closet

Just as Sick as the other color ways! Can’t find The Black/Volts in my size without a $500 Tag. But I was able to cop these and the Black/Red… The 2020 release of the Black/Silver are the Sickest ones, At least in my opinion. Very hard to find.

I had those in 9th grade but different version, same color just with the air window , not full air uptempo, when you couldn't afford the full air uptempo you settle for the half!!! Ended up giving them away to my beggin ass uncle because we wore the same shoe size!!!

Dude.. you haven't seen the Euro release black and silver version I got 3 months ago (Spurs colors Retro)... it is awful.. like it's dullish grey where it's supposed to be metallic silver.. I was legitimately disappointed.. I drooled over these in 9th grade

I really don't remember the toe being so bulbous... is it only me? I don't like the toebox looking so clown-ish... the black ones with the nubuck do not have that same rounded side profile imo. So they look so much better.

I need some help from some sneaker heads out there, Ive been trying to find a pair of shoes I got in 2006 from finish line, I'm very familiar with retro nikes as I had a lot of em in the 90s as a kid, but the shoes I'm trying to find looked like these uptempos, they were almost all black but white Nike sign and looked like they had airmax 97 bottoms and the smaller Nike sign that the 97 has, they wasn't the craziest shoes ever but me n my homie been tryin to find em again for a long time
They should’ve took that navy blue bottom all the way around to the front
