Loved to see Ueo beating 700+ hp machines with his no e-break-full-throttle drift on his 180 hp AE86! That was the golden era of the D1, nowadays the corner choices don't allow you to win with a 200 hp car.
to update my post, supposedly Ueo switched to a Turbo S15 a while ago pushing 400+ WHP and struggled that season in D1 (2007 i believe). he then joined another team and i believe he still pilots an s15. So, sad to say but......America ruined D1.
its funny, most of these cars now (beside Ueo i believe) have over 350ps. D1 GP has changed for the worst. Back then u rarely saw a car over 600ps, now, seems like the avg car is pushing well over 700ps lol. Just a bunch of power drifters. I miss the days of clutch kicking, perfectly timed downshifts, feint corner entries, and lound ass twin cam machines roaring. all good things must come to an end i guess.
@turbomoonie wow... are you a mind reader? cause i swear i was typing out the same exact comment you wrote when i look down and saw what you wrote... well said friend, well said. i wouldnt even consider it drifting anymore, more along the lines of "POWER SLIDEING" Simply stepping on the throttle to increase your angle while counter-steering ISNT DRIFTING!
maybe in the mountains but my pick up truck will blow a hachirokus doors off on the freeway lol and shes a lil 4 banger toyota too so dont pull the v8 card my friends have ae86 in hatch and coupe and they are slow

every car is 2jz but eh its like nascar some day all the drift cars might end up being s chassis with 2jz's in them
