The ultra in my shop was a little under poundage and the draw was a little short, yours may be as well. I averaged 323 at true 29.5/70. It's probably still a little slow but not 17fps

Hoyt have priced their bows based on their egos i think. For me there are far better bows for far less. I could tell mfjj doesn't think much of hoyt. Alot of meh involved which i found funny. At least get your bows close to weight and IBO for $1900 hoyt. Personally id take a bowtech or mathews over this for $700 less all day.

Would the fact it’s long on the axel to axel mean that if you twisted the main string up to bring it into speck you might get more juice/speed out of it? And is that what you would recommend doing to bring a bow that’s out like that back in?

@@TORREX-A.D. your correct ibo is NOT 70 pounds and 30 inches of draw length. Which is why he is not getting the speeds he thinks he should be getting.
Ibo is 5 grains per inch up to 80lbs with a 2 pound variance and here’s the kicker “no specified draw length” this is why they can advertise these speeds. Technically speaking it is perfectly acceptable for IBO speed to be tested with a 400 grain arrow at 82 pounds at 32 inches of draw length. Or 31. Or 34. Or whatever length they choose to test from.
ATA speeds are 70 30 and 350 grains. With a 0.2lb variance. And draw length of + 1/4. So 350 grains 70.2 lbs and 30.25 inches of draw is the max they can test under.
Hoyt does list ATA speeds rather than ibo though.

One big factor could be he stated it was out of spec at 34-1/4 and assuming he didn’t correct it or could just be his chrono. As others mentioned he’s always low compared to others and what I’ve seen in person.
I will say unbiasedly that I had the V3X and the Ventum Pro and the Ventum pro feels HEAVY, so with the stock mini stabilizer he might actually be on point with the weight

@@jasonnester9514 the way Hoyt let off is changed means the higher let off setting allows the cam to rotate slightly further, thereby loading more energy into the system. Just like a 30" draw loads more and shoots faster than a 29" draw would. There were a few YT channels that tested this with the 2021 Hoyt bows and everytime the 85% let off was faster than the 80%

Lol. $1900.00. Wait, let’s see if something is wrong with the set up. The speed is too slow. You have got to be kidding me. Have some of the bow companies forgot that working people have carried the archery community? I like Hoyt, but not a $1900.00 MSRP. Be certain, Hoyt is a fine company. It’s not the only one with a very expensive bow. Please pardon my sticker shock.

This year's PSE carbon bow is also $1,900. I realize people believe they are the ones who should set prices and want to determine how much a company makes off of each bow it sells, but it seems to be the industry price for a carbon bow. Carbon bicycle frames and wheels are also expensive. Hoyt has a $1,200-$1,300 bow.. and a $900 bow. As far as the speed goes, it has a 7" brace height.. so the speeds are going to be slower..
I'm looking at this bow and a Bowtech Revolt XL & Reckoning.. Will $600 matter if the bow feels significantly better than a $1,200 bow?

I truly like my RX5 and it shoots amazing. The first high bow I ever bought. However, with all the issues I had getting accessories for the for my Hoyt RX5, issues with nearly all my local bow shops when it comes to dealing with Hoyt specific bows, the limited upgrades on the RX7, and the high cost. I think I am going to get the Mathew's V3X and use my RX5 as a back up. After watching a lot of the reviews so far it's going to be hard to beat the V3X. Sorry Hoyt, when you get your act together I will jump back on board. In the meantime peace out.

Update, bought a brand new Matthew’s V3X 33 and the three pin Spot Hogg. This bow is freaking amazing. However I did have some issues but not from the bow, from the dealer. They installed the incorrect switch weight mod “Twice”. Quality workmanship is extremely hard to come by these days! Waiting on the correct mods now, should get them in about a week. Then back slinging some arrows down range.
