One thing I notice about them is how gentle they are around other birds. They don't try to dominate the feeder area all to themselves, they just ignore the other birds and do their thing.
Keep up the great work, Cornell. Sitting in India, I am able to savor the wonderful bird life thousands of miles away. I saw the Starlings in December in India (likely to have migrated from Northern Europe).
It would be great þo see the temperature included in your excellent broadcast.I watch all the bird sites and it gives me so much pleasure, here in Scotland.
Hmmm... good sized buffet, but I think I'll skip it and peck on the wood for grubs... Edit: I thought the wood on the post was just something the woodpeckers could grab onto, but I think it is a feeder.

Still can’t get over how big pileated woodpeckers are
I love their sounds, they sure make themselves noticeable when they arrive. They are loud and happy.

I do love these birds. Been lucky to have them in most places I've lived.

Great bird! 🐥
How exciting. I would love to see him in my back yard. I have a red headed, a pair of red bellied and a downey woodpecker that come to my feeders.
Maravilloso🥰🥰el pico a este amiguito carpintero lo favoreció. Fue el que mas disfruto del alimento🤗🤗
I have two of these birds in my yard, still no visits to the feeders but they will come hopefully.
Woody Woodpecker!!!!!!!!! ;)
I had a female in my yard who totally eradicated what was left of a tree stump in a matter of hours! I love those birds!
Trying to find something to eat at this grocery store!
