    These look great!
A couple of pointers to make something like this last longer...
Lining these with plastic will increase the lifespan significantly, even with cedar. If you don't mind the extra cost of adding styrofoam insulation between the wood and plastic it seems to help even more. The thicker the plastic seems to hold up longer against eventual cracking/splitting. Also please consider adding a hole for drainage if the planter has a bottom like the ones in the video.
Deck stain (can be tinted any color that paint can be tinted at HD here in the US) tends to hold up better than paint on wood outside, especially if top coated with spar (worth noting spar adds a yellow/amber hue). Stain can also be bought semi transparent if visible wood grain is preferred.
Placing a small patio paver under the legs to get them off the ground will help reduce regular exposure to moisture and prolong rotting.
Thank you for contributing projects that anyone with a drill and access to a lumberyard can do!

I built a VERY similar planter about 5 years ago. I used rotted off fence posts for the legs, and old found 1" stock for the sides. Polyurethane glue along with the screws. Bottom slats reclaimed redwood fence boards loose fit. Stained it. Staple plastic around the sides to protect the untreated wood and fabric over the slats. Takes 2 people to move it after it is planted and watered.
It also has more strength if you used 3 boards instead of 2 in your design.
Great Video. People should love this.

Sounds like a nice planter 😉

I like the size vs. the weight. NOT too heavy 👍Should be able to hold the soil no issues. And if you need to empty it out and move it, go right ahead. Can't do that with a brick planter 😸

Nice design, Linn. Did you use treated 4x4's? It's great to see Darbin supervising your project again. Thanks for sharing.

    Hey, nice work!
Did you apply any protective layer before painting to avoid rotting? Or just the paint layer is enough?

    Hello Linn!!!
I have to start by saying that I have been following you since 2015. I love your projects and the way you film and produce them. Great Work.
It is nice that you make the hubby do some of the work some of the time on some of the projects.
Thoughts, how would it looks if you were to add solar light caps to each of the 4x4's. It would help reduce the amount of water that would get into the end grain, and I think it would add a nice ambiance to the garden and patio.🌼🌺🌷🌸

Hey Todd, I always enjoy your comments! Solar caps sound like a great idea, I should get on that 😁
