- It's not often that the guys doing the building work, as well as myself, are lost for words, but we were all a bit amazed at this guy's performance. Maybe he should take up acting, he would do some very convincing angry scenes, I would think. The grumpy little bear!

I’m a 65 year old carpet fitter and I would have found your job very pleasant work,you had done more that most to make it an easy install. like your content very much as a practical home mechanic who has owned rode and fixed many machines over the years I find it enjoyable informative and entertaining 👍

When i was fitting in the 80s some houses were full of furniture despite the order saying all rooms must be cleared for fitter..we became Pickfords removals,emptied rooms and got on with it..a nice tip at the end usually calmed the grumpiness!!
We had a ceiling fan put in the living room in our house a number of years back and the room was pretty much square and it had a wooden ceiling. The electrician had come in and put the ceiling fan in. When I came home from work, I told my wife “the fan is not in the center“. We found out later he put it there so he didn’t have to drill through any of the upstairs floor joists. He installed the ceiling fan off center in the room out of convenience for him. We had him come back, move the ceiling fan and put it in the center, and we left the hole in the room as a conversation piece and advertising for him :-)

The bathroom needs plywood sheets laid before Lino is put down which a builder usually does. The surface needs to be flat or like tarmac, if the base is not flat the surface will look bad. As a builder/floor layer I would do both processes to give a good looking job. It's like painters or decorators... A painter slaps paint on and a decorator paints rubs down and then paints. That's why a decorator is more expensive than a painter.
The guy who is going to do the job instead of kevin will be laying ply first ...

I've only ever had two issues with carpet fitters. One who was very opinionated, argumentative and talked too much but did a decent job. Another who carpeted over a gas ventilation panel but came back the next day to correct his error when we informed him of it. I think your chap has already retired but keeps going to work. Well-justified rant!
