Can we work hard and disciplined to create a strong healthy body… in a way that we are not attached to the results?
My body changed when I learned the powerful practice of SURRENDER.
Drop your attachment to the outcome.
Be in the moment and have fun.
    Practice - Yoga.
    Today’s message will shift, everything…
    I hope you enjoy!

It’s interesting because last year I didn’t practice yoga to lose weight I practiced yoga to have a healthy mind and to be strong, when I stopped caring about my weight I lost 50 pounds! I love yoga thanks to you Adriene! Also I thank myself for being so disciplined! 🧘‍♀️

Right now I’m doing all of the 30 day series over again. I am finally 4 months sober from herion. I was 9 months but I attempted to take my life and now I’m back at the 4 month mark. I started to do yoga again, every day. I work out as well, but nothing compares to how Adriene’s videos make me feel. I’ve been here since 2016 with you, and I’ll never go anywhere. You’ve changed my life so much and I just want you to know how much you positively impact me. Namaste✨

To me the goal for this 30 day practice has probably been the opposite of most other people's - I come every day promising not to push myself, not to make myself uncomfortable, not to compete. I don't care about summer bodies and booties, I just wanted to remember when I was a kid and I did headstands and cartwheels because they were SUPER FUN, and it would be super fun to be there again.

Adriene, at the beginning of the practice: "Surrender may sound like something chill but I'm gonna kick your butt today."

Whooooooosh! I woke up at 5 am to a cold and dark apartment. I turned up the heat and started my practice with a blanket draped around my shoulders. By the end I had stripped away the layers (literally and figuratively). My inner thermostat is cranked up and I am all toasty! Hello, today!

oh boy, I didn't see that comin'. It really shaked my mind.
I have to confess something :( I am 4 days behind (I had some job interviews and didn't have enough space for yoga. (literally, space probs :) )
Normally, normal me, would have quit already. But after 15 days milestone, this practice has started to change my body, soul and mind, all at the same time. And I told to myself on those days when I couldn't participate:
    "It's ok.
It's gonna be ok. If you feel energetic you may do two practices in one day and you may catch up and reach the finish line with Adriene.
But you know what? It's also ok if you don't finish it on time. Couple of days... It's not the end of the world. Just keep on doing it. Don't quit! Please... Just keep on doing it from the day you left off."
    And I did it.
    I made it.
    I am here.
    I am back with you.
Thank you Adriene for showing me how to change my mindset off the mat.

Teared up a little bit in the beginning when Adriene talked about losing herself. I have struggled a lot in the past with self acceptance, and in a way it feels a little calming to know that even a superhuman like Adriene can lose the connection to herself. If you are struggling know that it will get better and that you have the power to turn your struggles into strength. You deserve to be healthy, happy and loved.

I responded that she wasn't sitting properly, that she should sit up and she said what do you mean and I just blurted out ..you know "head over heart, heart over pelvis." I had to laugh to myself and thought wow this &$!# works! My sister is also watching your practices now! Thank you... Adriene, you're in my head! Namaste

It never ceases to amaze me how something pretty taxing on your body can leave you feeling so positive and full of joy - If you have the right mindset. My body was trembling and sweating but not once did I feel frustrated and anxious to get through it as I would, and sometimes do, when I'm working the same muscles through targeted core work 💕 Yoga is truly a force

  • @bonoffee83

This was a hard practice physically: even though I've been doing yoga for a few years, I found the side plank really tough, mainly because my left forearm was too painful when I tried to hold myself up on that side. Not sure if that's lack of strength or something else, but I had to step back from that move. The concept is good though. I got more out of running when I realised I was doing it for my mental health and not to lost weight or tone anything. That just happened naturally. You do need to find what feels good and the rest will follow!

This is an interesting one for me. I used to be slim because I had horrible anxiety. I never had an appetite and I puked frequently because of it. As I recovered and got better, I began to gain a bit of weight. I was just so glad I could finally eat and enjoy it. Eventually, I decided to be careful of what I ate, but even so I keep expanding. I eat (kind of) clean and I practice yoga everyday and even though I feel strong and healthy it is hard to detach myself from the fact that I am a lot heavier than what I used to consider ideal. It is hard to surrender because I just keep gaining weight. Oh well, I guess not being so anxious anymore has to be the best reason to gain weight.

I was very sick last year and very thin, as I recovered I also gained a lot of weight bc my heart was weak from being sick. The weight really loaded on bc I was barely strong enough to walk a block let alone exercise and I became depressed too. It was a very hard transition going from sick (but seemingly healthy bc I was thin) to being healthier (but people think you're unhealthy bc you've heavy). It was a total mind F*. People treated me better, thought I was prettier when I was thin/sick. "Oh you look great!" (but I'm dying. WTF!). Once I was getting heavier I felt dropped by so called friends and fat&invisible. I think we are both doing these videos to help find emotional and physical balance. If we focus on self love I think we can do it. I can no longer fit into my "cute clothes" but I can run a flight of stairs and even do some of these crazy side plank poses. I think that is better than my cute clothes. Best wishes.

Well that certainly kept me on my toes!! I wasn’t expecting such an intense session, wow those side planks you certainly did ‘kick our butt!’ For me I spent years going for the results in my body, then I hit the menopause and my body changed for me. It took time to accept who I was. I no longer strive for the results of a flat tummy, slim thighs etc. I now surrender to how I feel, my thoughts, flexibility and being alive!

3 days ago when this video was released, I was at the airport, flustered and stressed because I missed my flight and needed to get to London in time for an early afternoon appointment. I sat in the departures area, opened up my laptop, and while frantically searching for the next flights out, an email pinged in the top right hand corner of my screen, "True - Day 18 - Surrender", from Adriene. Instantly, that word, "surrender", permeated my mind and a wave of calm washed over me. I was reminded to surrender to what is not in my control, surrender to what is meant to be, surrender to what is meant to happen... Important lessons that I've learned from you, Adriene, during my yoga practice. I remembered that all is well, it is not the end of the world, and everything will work out great. And it did! Thank you Adriene. On and off the mat, you are helping us all more than you know.

Doing this True 30 days straight after 30 days of yoga. I remember the first 30 days the side arm plank was a tough, my arms were shaking... Finding so much ease now with it.
It really works. Feeling stronger each day. Thank you Adrienne❤️
Also love seeing Benji everyday. My dog just jumps on top of me everytime I am doing a plank and cries for attention 😂😂

    That FIRE!
Got a little emosh at the beginning of today's practice, I often times struggle to surrender... To not fire, to let it be.
But this practice reminded me of the POWER that comes from surrendering. All those side planks; I trusted you, I trusted my body. The human body is amazing and this practice reminded me of that. Thank you for giving me confidence, Adriene! Thank you for helping me surrender to everyday struggles, listening to my body, having faith and going with the flow :-)
    Namasté!

Drop your attachment to the outcome. Surrender and be present in the experience. This is exactly what I needed today. Showing up for myself on the mat today was incredibly difficult but I made it all the way to the end, and now I feel sooo much better. Thank you Adriene.

Today's practice changed some things for me: my mindset and body control. I noticed that I was way more focused on the moment of the practice, not attached to my appearance or external world. It felt great, even my hop from downward facing dog to forward fold improved dramatically as I was concentrated in my breath. Thank you for the practice, Adriene!

Self care, self love, self discovery!!! This was truly amazing. Practiced in the evening. You inspire. When I close my eyes and listen, I feel the presence of Adriene. :) Then I try not to think and I feel an inner connection which goes beyond the physical. Thank you Adriene!!! Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend. :) Day 18!!! Yes!!! Surrender!!! :)

Today's practice really hit home. I am currently facing a hard decision and letting go of attachement to the outcome is a great way to help me clear my head and follow my intuition. Thank you adrienne for not only helping me in toning and strengthening my body but by also helping me shift the way I think and relaxing me in anxious times.

D-18 that's amazing how you get into the practice and forget everything, it really took me aback and kind of sweating with everymove but still have the energy to carry on and breathe accordingly, it's enough to surrender by your mind and your body will follow.
Thank you Adriene and love and peace everyone.

This is my first time doing True and holy holy! This practice was amazing in every way. I'm doing this on a sunday so when i saw we were doing side planks i gasped! But i managed to do all of them and i'm actually very proud of myself. I still have a long way to go in terms of this message, i focus too much on gettng results and that sometimes can be just tiring. So thank you Adriene for helping me slowly but surely adapt to this new way of thinking!

I remember when a year ago I did a side plank for the first time. I was so thrilled, I couldn’t believe it ! And now, I’m not going to say it’s a piece of cake but I could do them all no problem whatsoever. I feel strong !
Thank you Adriene. I surrender. And trust you. And myself. 🙏🏻

This practice couldn't have come at a better time. While I started this journey as an act of self-love (something I've been lacking in lately), it gradually turned into what I considered a "weight loss" journey. When I looked into the mirror this morning, I was full of criticism and harsh words. Thanks for reminding me why I did this, and what matters most. You continue to surprise me with your seemingly psychic abilities. Namaste Adriene :)

Yesterday and today's practices were challenging for me. Some of the poses yesterday and today just didn't feel great in my body (pinching, forcing, etc.) which I used as an invitation to play with the asana and connect to myself and FIND WHAT FEELS GOOD! Thank you for challenging me in mind, body, and spirit. I'm looking forward to what the rest of this journey has in store for me 😊
