      @@libertyyounger4720 Totally agree! I’m just getting started on quilting and it seems the majority of the videos just concentrate on the top. Which is great but my biggest problem is going from that to the actual finished quilt..

      Creators, in general, don't provide us with details. They all have their own reasons from wanting to freely create their art (and us, too) to wanting us to watch their other videos. They also tend to worry that we will become bored if they repeat the same processes on each video. I used to say I was self-taught. Now, I can't say that because at least a third of my knowledge comes from watching UA-cam videos now. There is a search option on UA-cam and on Google. You can also click on the channel name or picture to get to their playlists to see if what you are looking for is here.

    Such a cute and easy quilt. Just wanted to say with those leftover pieces from the strip sets, you can cut those in to 2 and 1/2 in sections to put together to make a border. They would match the prints in the quilts and make such a cute border around the edges

    After watching you make that Beautiful Quick Jelly Roll Quilt, I have made up my mind. I'm staying home today and tomorrow for safety; and, to make baby quilts using your pattern and methods. I have everything I need in my sewing room. I'm not a beginner; and, I have your video to go back to if I need help. Thank you so much.
    I have been worrying over this problem all this Memorial Day weekend. I wish Brenda (of Conquering Mount Scrap-m) had told me about you earlier.
    Traffic is heavy and bad because of the Holiday. My car is 24 years old; and, I am almost 75 years old. I was invited to join in on helping make charity baby quilts for a Children's Hospital (Kentucky Project Linus) on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Driving in heavy traffic wears me out. The building that I will have to drive to is a good twenty-five minutes away from my house (in light traffic). Because of the Holiday (plus Public Schools are out and many people are somewhere else on vacations) I could be the only person to show up for this event (besides the Extension Agents). I should be able to make two, or more, finished quilts at home. Then I should be able to drive them over to the Extension Office on Wednesday or Thursday (finished and washed).

      That is a really good question! I usually aim for the inbetween the peaks and the valleys... 😂 I don't know that there is a right or wrong on this question that makes as much of a difference as being consistent while you're sewing. It's a great topic to do a video on! Thank you for watching my videos. I'm glad that they are helpful for you!

      @@ISeeStarsQuilting hi Christen, do you have a video with tips on machine quilting when the backing material has embossing built-in? I have a velvety type fabric i’m using on the back of this jelly roll quilt and it’s got suns ☀️ embossed all over it and I am not sure how to quilt this? Also, my jelly roll has dark green, light blue, light gold and white background fabrics so I don’t know what color top thread to use. I really don’t want to have to keep switching out thread for every different color strip.

      This quilt was very simple straight line quilting. Nothing fancy. I stitched lengthwise on each jelly roll and rotated my stitching when the block turned 🥰 You can see some more photos of this easy quilt in this blog post: iseestarsquilting.com/easyjellyrollquilt/

      @@ISeeStarsQuilting Thank you, my eyes were excited seeing the finished quilt, as it seems to have straight lines but they were swirling at the same time.

    How many total strips/finished squares do I need to make a large lap quilt or twin size quilt. I have ordered two jelly rolls for the project.

    Did you do your own quilting on a regular sewing machine? If so, did you draw the lines? 😊

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  4 місяці тому +1

      It depends on how perfect I want them to be -- Usually, I can just kind of eyeball it or use the material sides as guidelines, but if I have large areas and I want straight quilting lines, I'll mark my quilting using a Hera tool and a ruler to give me the proper guides! 🙌🏼

    I am looking to buy a quilting machine for medium to large projects. What machine do you recommend?

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  3 роки тому

      I think that this depends a lot on your budget. There are amazing machines that costs thousands and thousands of dollars... and there are great machines that are really affordable too. I would go to a sewing machine dealer. You can contact the one that I use if you need someone in the US that you can trust. I always speak with Cathy or Mark at www.sewvaccity.com/ Tell them what you're wanting to do with the machine, give them a rough budget, ask if there are any trade-ins available (used is always a great option!) and see what they say! Yay for a new machine!

    Thank you so much for the great instructions! What size squares did you cut the strips into? I couldn’t see. I’m trying to finish this as my first JRQ project. You are so helpful and kind in your videos! ❤

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  Рік тому +1

      I just made sure they were square. So measure the width of your square once you have the strips sewn together and then cut the height to be the same 🧵

    Thanks so much for the fun project ideas! What are the final measurements of the quilt? I know it is baby-sized, but it you wouldn't mind giving it a quick measure, it would help my planning. :-)
