How to Open SBI Fixed Deposit Online? | Online FD Open & Close | SBI Yono FD Open | e-STDR & e-TDR

- State Bank of India (SBI) offers an easy way to its customers to open Fixed deposits ( e-STDR or e-TDR) using their online banking facility www.onlinesbi.com & Yono app.
Customers can log in the net banking and open online Fixed Deposit & and also can open in SBI Yono mobile app at home based on their convenience.
In this video, I have explained the procedure through which a customer can open e-STDR or e-TDR online through www.onlinesbi.com and also SBI Yono app.
TDR and STDR terms are different types of fixed deposits. TDR means Term Deposit and STDR means Special Term Deposit. Following is the main difference between them.
TDR
If you are interested in getting periodic payments from your fixed deposit after a short period like a week, month, or quarterly, you have to deposit under the TDR scheme. Bank will pay you a normal interest rate on your fixed deposit as per the payout option chosen by you.
STDR
If you are not interested in getting periodic payments but looking for interest accrual and a bullet payment at the end of the term then you have to opt for STDR. The advantage of this scheme is that it will be quarterly compounding. The interest is calculated on a quarterly basis and at the end of each quarter, the same gets added to the principal. As a result, your yield to maturity will be higher.
