The letters indicate what string you are playing on, the numbers let you know what finger to use. This article will help explain things.. Good luck! violinspiration.com/violin-notes-for-beginners/
Hi! I’m new here. Pleased to meet you, Julia! When you were using the pegs, it sounded like you had not applied peg compound. Are you familiar with peg compound? It makes peg tuning so much easier!
It does happen, yes because changes in humidity and room temperature have an effect on the wood expanding and contracting, therefore the tension of the pegs can sometimes be affected as well.
Hi Joseph, Congratulations on your new violin. I know tuning can be scary, but take it slowly so you don't snap your strings. It takes practice, but you will get use to it. Good luck!🥰
I'm also a big fan of electronic tuners, because I'm quite bad at telling which octave I'm at. For example, the middle C, upper C, and lower C all sound about the same even though I'm pretty good at tuning for C. Hence, the tendency of dangerously overtighttening any string on my violins or guitars.
Hi Cassandra, I'm glad you like the video. This article on my site, violinspiration.com can help you read sheet music. violinspiration.com/violin-notes-for-beginners/ I wish you the best of luck!🥰 I hope it helps you.
Thanks for the video, I couldn't tell which way I needed to turn my fine tuners before. Also my violin came with geared pegs instead of "traditional" pegs, if I'm using them to tune do I still need to loosen them a little before tightening up until the strings are in tune?
Is it OK for beginner to practice intonation with chromatic tuner? I’ve been doing it for a while to make sure I hit the right spot to produce good intonation. I have a relatively good relative pitch but still I miss the right tone after I check with the chromatic tuner Is it Ok to practice with that?
Gosh, OK😮. If your pegs are stuck, you might want to try loosening them first, then turning them back up towards the correct pitch. But, first, loosen your fine tuners all the way before you turn the pegs. You may have tightened your fine tuners all the way. That is why they are no longer moving. I hope that helps. Good luck!🥰
I guess I'm not understand the question. I mean, you should be hearing and feeling the rhythm of a piece when you play .. Yes.. If that is what you mean?🤔🥰
This was absolute perfect timing, thank you for your help!
So glad! I'm happy it helped!😀

Hi! I’m new here. Pleased to meet you, Julia!
When you were using the pegs, it sounded like you had not applied peg compound. Are you familiar with peg compound? It makes peg tuning so much easier!
Hi, nice to meet you too.😀Yes, I am very familiar with peg compound. Thanks for suggesting it though!
So it is normal for peg to turn back to its position when rotating? 😢
It does happen, yes because changes in humidity and room temperature have an effect on the wood expanding and contracting, therefore the tension of the pegs can sometimes be affected as well.
Hi I’m Joseph I’m new! I got a new violin and is hard to tune from pegs, I’m scare if my string snaps again
Hi Joseph, Congratulations on your new violin. I know tuning can be scary, but take it slowly so you don't snap your strings. It takes practice, but you will get use to it. Good luck!🥰
Very nice
Thanks!

I'm happy you found a tuner that works for you, so you don't over tighten the strings on your instruments.😀
this was very helpful but how do you read sheet music?

Yes, I think that is still better to loosen them a bit first.

Is it Ok to practice with that?
Yes, it is a great way to practice intonation in the beginning. 😃
I tried doing it with pegs and string's pitch was too low even though I rotated it and after that it won't move at all.
the fine tuner also doesn't move
It used to before now it does not
