  • In this video I show the steps I took to make the original Blades of Chaos from God of War! These blades are made entirely out of EVA Foam so they are extremely lightweight and convention safe. Not only so I show the building process but I have a template on my site you can download to create some for yourself!

    It doesn't look like you have a problem with this from the video, but I recently discovered a new trick for sanding/sculpting the foam. I used one of my dremel sanding drums that got covered in something that smoothed out the texture completely, almost to like a 1000 grit. It left virtually no trace that the foam had been sanded when used, and when painted over with a base color of paint looked more like sculpted clay than foam. I was carving a somewhat realistic face so I needed small, smooth details and that helped a ton.

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  6 років тому +1

      Logan Smith yeah that’s great. I have 5 different drums in various degrees of wear the final pass is a drum that’s almost completely covered in apoxi sculpt and bondo so it basically smooths out the foam at high speed

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  5 років тому

      Thanks! I got the one inch foam from TNT cosplay but the one inch foam is kind of expensive and because of it's density doesn't sand well on a belt sander, worse case just layer two 1/2" pieces with a rod in the middle for stability
