I have a pair of the older fs 100s and love them. This one sounds like winning upgrade.

Cool racket and review. I feel like if I had to choose a diadem would be the elevate 98 tour. Just because I'm currently with the PS VS and is an amazing racket.

The Elevate, for me, is much better. Keep in mind that the V3 is a bit softer than the V2. I prefer the V2.

    (Edited)
Hey, Jonas...I originally asked what the beam width is for the Nova V3 100.
I talked to Diadem and they gave me the beam width spec, however...
Curious if you can explain/educate on how a single number beam spec of 23.5mm
can also have the classification as a "tapered beam width?"
How can you have a single beam thickness along with it being tapered?
    They seem contradictory.
    Thanks!

    • @experientialtennispickleball
      @experientialtennispickleball 9 місяців тому +1

Had the same issue. Someone said the same 23.5 straight beam and I think someone in Japan has said something about 23.5-24.5-23.5 but I'm not sure

      @@experientialtennispickleball
I just emailed Diadem directly and asked for the beam width
and "why" they choose to not publish the spec...
Maybe Jonas knows why to both...I guess we''l see...
But, if he doesn't, I'll update everyone here within this thread.

    • @RonnieJamesOsbourne
      @RonnieJamesOsbourne 9 місяців тому +1

      Ok...
So, Diadem got back to me and said it's a 23.5, BUT, it's a "tappered beam?"
I put a ? because I don't really know what that means or implies.
If your beam is 23.5mm would that not be a "constant beam," and not a tappered one?
A tappered beam gives me the impression that the beam at some point
"diminishes or a reduces in thickness" by definition,
so 23.5 as a single number doesn't make sense.
Feel free to correct or educate me!

      Ok...
      For anyone that cares,
Diadem was nice enough to give the final beam specs with an explanation.
      (Diadem)
Yes, that means there is difference of the beam width throughout.
Rackets either have a straight beam (same thickness throughout)
or tapered beam (different thicknesses throughout).
It is hard to give all the measurements of the beam, so like many brands,
we list it is Tapered Beam and customers understand that it will be 23.5mm at the thinnest.
      For your purposes it would be a 23.5 / 24.5 / 23.5 (23.28 in throat,
but I think easier to call it 23.5)
      I hope that helps.

Are you able to hit flat through the ball with the Nova, or do you feel forced to add topspin to most shots?
I'm looking forward to the video about Andre's Gravity MP. I've been seriously considering switching from my Radical MP to a Gravity of some kind and am enjoying a stock mp currently.

Although it must be said that I do quite well with the Ezone Tour, which is considered a power frame by some.

@@Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 yeah Nick did raise this topic, but it’s when you “cook them wrong” - try to play with stiff wrist, get late a lot.
Nick has been doing provocative and controversial videos, but recently he’s very congruent, like his content in recent months a lot.
Most stiff racquets are ok on the arm, if you use soft strings and don’t face too crazy pace off serves and at the net. But some may be well balanced even with poly and in high level game. Jonas usually says something about arm friendliness, but not this time, hence my question 🙂

@@Anton.Arkhipov I play with the Wilson Profile 95 and have been using the same racquets since the late 80s and 90s, and that is the stiffest racquet ever made by Wilson. I totally agree with you on the strings, I have always played with lose string tension. I string my mains at 40lbs, and my crosses at 36. And I use 16 gauge on my mains and 17 gauge on my crosses, and I have never had a problem with tennis elbow or anything like that, and I am 52 years old my friend. So I totally agree with you on the string tension.

I found that Lynx Tour mains and Lynx Touch crosses at 46lb worked well in my Gravities, with controlled power and excellent spin. But...Lynx Touch is surprisingly stiff and caused wrist pain (went back to Velocity crosses). May be different for you, of course.

Does Diadem make custom racquets? I play with the Wilson Profile 95 and it’s over 370 grams and over 13 once’s, the Profile is very handle heavy and I am not a fan of that, I want to customize a racquet that is a little thinner on the frame and the weight to be balanced more towards the head of the racquet. I was clocking my serve in the mid hundreds and the Profile is very stiff, but a lot of power. I just broke a cone hitting the serve, and I am a disabled 52 year old. I couldn’t imagine of some of the you tubers that play higher level tennis, hitting serves with the Wilson Profile 95. I bet my Barry Bonds rookie card that some of these You tubers would be hitting the serves in the mid to higher 100 mph serves effortlessly. I am going to the courts later today and I will be hitting the serves with the Profile and see if I can take down some more Mini Cones. Great job on the video my friend. Thank you
