  • Bioengineering seniors are expanding frontiers in fields as diverse as health care and veterinary medicine.
More than a dozen Bioengineering student groups recently demonstrated their Senior Design projects, including Exoflex, a glove that supports hand rehabilitation; LAPPI, a silicone mouthpiece that helps infants with cleft lips feed; and PawSense, a system that tracks obesity in pets.
Three teams will compete in the department-wide Senior Design competition this Friday:
Epilog: a headband for children that can monitor epilepsy at home
ADONA: a cap for newborns that utilizes machine learning to aid the diagnosis of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), a serious medical issue involving lack of oxygen to the brain
NG-LOOP: a non-invasive device that prevents and detects the dislodgment of nasal feeding tubes in infants.
Congratulations to all BE seniors on their achievements! #PennSeniorDesign
