This cinematic is exactly the reason why Tyrael is the best character in the Diablo series. "You cannot judge me! I am Justice itself!".... the most badass quote ever spoken
I was thinking about how Imperius failed to hurt Tyrael, and then I realized that Imperius is the archangel of valor, which would suggest that he should be the greatest and strongest warrior of all the angels, and should have been able to kill Tyrael without much trouble. However, he failed miserably. And I think I know why.. When Imperius chose to attack Tyrael, he said "you will now answer for your transgressions", which was his way of enacting justice upon Tyrael. However, as Tyrael said, "You cannot judge me! I am justice itself!" I think that because of the nature of who Tyrael is, it would be impossible to enact judgment upon him in any way that would hurt him. It would be against the laws of physics, so to speak. If Imperius were annoyed with Tyrael and just decided to kill him, he may have been able to. But because he was trying to punish Tyrael, that made it impossible to achieve, because you can't enact justice upon justice itself. That's like.. punishing the concept of punishment? You can't punish a concept. Or in Tyrael's case, an "aspect". So the universe would somehow always play out in a way where no matter how hard anyone tries, they can't punish Tyrael. Something will always cause them to fail. And that something will most likely be Tyrael himself lol.
So what you're saying is that as an aspect of the very concept of justice Tyriel effectively became the voice of what is just to do. So in any point where there is a judgement to be made he is all powerful. This is also a point where we see the fall of Imperius because valor is NOT about trampling those weaker than you that's tyranny. Which is one other reason why the power scale was on Tyriel's side
Also that Imperius is probably not the aspect of valor anymore. As Diablo says "Your rage makes you powerful. Yet you hind it from your brethren. Perhaps you fear them seeing you for what you truly are" From the Diablo3 Wrath animated video. So Aspect of wrath, which makes sense consider how he acts in D3@@Wraithfire27
Tyrael is without a doubt my favorite character in the Diablo universe next to the Skeleton King. I always wanted to see Tyrael fight the Lich King too.
This scene is potential evidence that Imperious the Archangel of Valor, has in his way fallen from grace. Each of the five archangels represents a virtue of creation and when one of them is lost their virtue disappears with them. When Auriel was subdued in Act IV, the Angel's lost hope and gave up. Imperious has strayed from his nature of Valor and became cowardly, for he lacks the courage to disregard their rules and do the right thing. I believe this is why Inarius saw potential in Tyraels future character, because he alone had the strength to rise above his basic purpose.
I wouldn't say that Tyrael "rose above his basic purpose". He is still justice itself, he gave up his immortality and his power, because those "higher" laws would prevent him from seeking true justice. He did not stray from what he was made to do(quite literally). He chose his mission, to be agent of justice, instead of pawn of heaven. Actually, at least from my point of view, he was they only one who actually sticked to his purpose, pursue justice at any cost. If the cost was to become "mortal", he paid it without second thought.
I posted this in the main thread, but due to your comment, I wanted to make sure you see this: I was thinking about how Imperius failed to hurt Tyrael, and then I realized that Imperius is the archangel of valor, which would suggest that he should be the greatest and strongest warrior of all the angels, and should have been able to kill Tyrael without much trouble. "He alone had the strenght to rise above his basic purpose" ? What ? Tyrael sacrificed everything for justice. Because he's the aspect of justice. In that moment, justice was to help humanity. Hence he did what his basic purpose told him to. To enact justice.
As stated in the Book of Lorath: "Tyrael, former Archangel of Justice, who abandoned his rigid dedication to Justice, and took up the Aspect of Wisdom instead."
"Imperius the Archangel of Valor, has in his way fallen from grace." you say? *suddenly makes a discovery upon remembering what Diablo said to Imperius in the cartoon animated video of Diablo III and how right I was* Oh my god, Diablo told Imperius while battling him in the Battlefields of Eternity during the Eternal Conflict, "Your rage makes you powerful. Yet you hide it from your brethren. Perhaps you fear them seeing you for what you truly are." I believe that Diablo himself is predicting Imperius's future upon speaking to him about his rage while questioning about his valor is in fact being nothing more than a manifestation of "rage".
Something I love about Tyraels speech here, is he sounds so ashamed. Ashamed of himself and all the other angels, they were meant to be better, something more but instead they cower and turn a blind eye to the evils of the world, hiding behind there laws as justification. Imperious cannot judge Tyrael, but he can judge himself, and so far he has not done enough, even now. And so he falls
Imperius really is a hypocrite. He kills Diablo back in the war when the plan was to hold him captive and then turns around and has the audacity to scould Tyrael for something less harmful. Imperius is the reason why Diablo was able to be reborn.
There is a Tyrael in all of us. Brings a tear to my eye when I watch this. At 1:21 the most epic speech of any cutscene ever begins! The symbolism here to today’s corrupt society is just amazing.
This goes to further reiterate a certain point. In the pandemonium fortress you can find lore tomes of Inarius, the angel who alongside lilith created Sanctuary and the mortal race. In the earlier volumes he speaks of his time among the Angel's and he explicitly said that out of all the archangels, Tyrael was the only one he saw promise in to bring about peace. Tyrael was just young and vain at that time, but Inarius saw Tyrael as the only archangel with the potential to go beyond his innate purpose. Hell, even Zoltun Kulle, in some of his dialogue, said that tyrael is the main reason humanity still exists.
A year late but Tyrael is exactly why Humanity still lives. It was his vote that saved them from destruction at the hands of Heaven. Before he met Uldyssian he was just as hellbent-ironoically- on destroying Sanctuary as Imperius, but changed his mind after encountering the human Uldyssian, who displayed a sense of justice Tyrael found admirable. He realized that Humanity had immense, limitless potential and thus cast his vote in favor of them along with Ithirael and Auriel. Only Imperius immediatly voted for Mankind's destruction. Even MALTHAEL chose to only abstain. At least until Reaper of Souls where he goes rogue.
Good point. So far, only the heavens have acted in favor of mankind, and even then, it was pretty much only Tyrael (Inarius instead suppressing the Nephalem power). I want to see a Demon break out of the cycle and fight amongst men too.
@@Lasershadow He chose to become mortal. Even though he is considered both Aspect of Justice and Wisdom he does not possess the powers of angels anymore. He still has his magical toothpick tho.
@@Lasershadow That being said... Tyrael is not a human, demon or angel at this point. He is literally an indescribable mortal being. But his essence is still of angelic origin. If he dies, his essence will be used to create a new angel that would probably become a new Archangel of Justice/Wisdom.

And new Aspect of Justice and Wisdom will be born from said essence. That being said that Aspect will be locked in High Heavens as its gates are closed in Diablo IV.
After playing through the story again, I forgot just how much of an ignoramus Leah was up until this point in the story. She was in constant denial and always putting Cain down for his studies, despite the evidence for them constantly appearing around her. Even when Deckard died and said Tyrael was an angel, Leah immediately wrote in her diary that "The stranger is just a man. It was all just stories. Deckard died for stories". It was honestly infuriating how she never even attempted to understand Deckard's efforts, even after he passed on his work to her. She was a disgrace to his legacy. And here, in this scene, we see her planning to burn the book with all of his work along with him, which I think would honestly have made her completely irredeemable. Thank God that Tyrael was there to show her the truth, before her ignorance could bring further insult to Deckard's memory.
Tyrael so much similar as Michael archangel of justice to give this world and humanity to survive the light through darkness for bring peace and freedom. 😎
cool cutscene but still remembered how stupid the character leah and some parts of the story is. "Demons aren't Real Grandpa, u stupid old fool." -Leah
For Christians that have read The Bible, this makes us wish Tyrael kept his stature as an Angel, and never create The Nephilim, but sadly he didn't keep his stature, and he did create The Nephilim.
I think it's more like the other archangels just don't give a shit and would rather destroy sanctuary. It's an abomination and an unnecessary warzone. Their divine purpose isn't to defend the innocent or humans, it is to maintain order and sanctuary breeds chaos.
itheriael:so uh... should we...help him? auriel:he...seems like he knows what hes-wait wait why is he riping of his own wings!? itheriael:sooooo....do you wanna talk about your ex? auriel:....its a very confusing story but uh... should we go see how imperious is doing itheriel:not it auriel:not it-ah crap. *sigh* after that shitshow inperious:oh greetings auriel auriel:....you wanna talk about what in the arch just happened with tyrael? imperious: that's....i....id actually like to get that off my chest yeah....wait actually that reminds me...where the hells is malthael? auriel:.....thats probably not good.. elsewhere nephalem:lets see..kick hells ass for the 3 time...check,lets see uh...eh well guess ill see what else i can do. ... wait dont they have a wisdom guy up...oh shit.

I hope they make a diablo film 🎥 this is absolutely amazing 👏 the art is so beautiful! The music is extremely moving! It is so powerful it brings tears to my eyes. I love witnessing bravery in stories and also the human side of people. By that I mean her doubt and anger when tyrael speaks of sacrifice. It's relatable cuz we all experience similar feelings throughout our short lives. Tyrael does what's right, even though the angelic laws forbid him to do so. Similar to how I don't follow certain religious rules. By that I mean I don't threaten people with eternal damnation if they don't belive in Jesus. Christians tell me I'm wrong and then explain why. But I cut myself off from the religion I was raised in. I concern myself with making the world a better place in any way I can. Also, tyrael's journey did not end, he went on to help save the world. That of men and that of angels. It inspires me to be better. Tho it's a game, it's real to me. I've watched this many many times and have it on repeat throughout my days. It inspires my own stories and helps to keep me going.

Imperious is sort of the fuck up child among the archangels - continually screwing up and blaming others. The three archangels who left the counsel did so in part as a result of his actions.
Am I the inly one who thinks Tyrael could have helped more if he just left heaven without giving up his power? Like Inarius who who was in Sanctuary but had all of his powers ( i know he wasn't there bcause he wanted too)

That's what I'm saying. How the hell was it all just stories when you live in a world that is clearly supernatural?
Still gives me goosebumps after all these years.
and so he falls as lucifer fell
the flames, the sword!
This game is 10 years old and still has the best prerendered cinematics from any videogame ever.
I'm surprised no one is talking about that Leah touches Tyrael's crotch to get the rest of the story.
1:50
Then she become diablo incarnate... nailed it
While you hide cowering behind your throne.
Even now, I'm in disbelief that Tyrael, the archangel of justice, and Vaatu, the spirit of darkness, share the exact same voice...
this scene its pumps me up every time i see it
Words to remember indeed... especially in these times.
Alternative title: Tyrael gains the n-word pass
I love Imperius's "Sacrilege!"
He's my favorite character ❤ I love Tyrael💖🌹🙏
This was one of my favorite games as a kid.
Bruh it's barely 10 years old. Are you 12 now?
@@Gggmanlives I’m legally an adult now.
@@Gggmanlives Anyone under like 22, maybe further depending on their ape brain configuration, is a kid.
Tyrael so much similar as Michael
archangel of justice to give this world and humanity to survive the light through darkness for bring peace and freedom. 😎
All these years later and this cinematic still looks amazing 💪
This reminds me of Hazbin about sinners being redeemed but this, this is amazing
Please gods make Tyrael back to his angel form please please
Blizzard never fails to make both great music and cinematics
Whats the use of all the power if you cannot help others when in need.
Exactly archangels are to be symbols of light , hope and greater understanding of things lol
Still gives me goosebumps! Even tho imperious is my boi
Imperious is a bitch. He gon die in d4
We gon kill him. He kills tyrael.
Tyraels armor is so badass
If our precious law binds us to inaction
Then we shall take justice in our hands
1:51 where did she touch?.....
This game was fucking awesome
Still is, bro. They just released a new season with new armour sets
cool cutscene but still remembered how stupid the character leah and some parts of the story is. "Demons aren't Real Grandpa, u stupid old fool." -Leah
"What do you know about sacrifice?!"
Tyrael: 🤷
1:55 voice sounds cool tho.
Tyrael is justice itself
1.26. gooooosbumps, this really is a awsome clip !
Blizzard makes the most amazing cutscenes.
WE WE'RE MEANT TO BE MORE THAN THIS , TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT 😎
Tyrael is to me, the greatest of all the archangels, more so than imperius
Hear hear lol 😎
Tyrael is a true angel of light
For Christians that have read The Bible, this makes us wish Tyrael kept his stature as an Angel, and never create The Nephilim, but sadly he didn't keep his stature, and he did create The Nephilim.
Inarius and Lilith created the nephalem not Tyrael
This is where the item called “Dominus” in roblox was inspired from.
Dude is a real one, gave up his shoulder pad to be human 😊
Tyrael is the only men in the council, like Buddha, gave up his privilege. Other archangels are just corruptions (fear, anger, hatred, lust...)
I think it's more like the other archangels just don't give a shit and would rather destroy sanctuary. It's an abomination and an unnecessary warzone. Their divine purpose isn't to defend the innocent or humans, it is to maintain order and sanctuary breeds chaos.
If this were to be taken as a movie, Gerard Butler would be awesome as Imperius right..🤔🤔🤔
YES!!!
Who would play tyrael
The only thing I really loved about D3 was this cinematic, this was the epitome of Diablo Lore!
itheriael:so uh... should we...help him?
auriel:he...seems like he knows what hes-wait wait why is he riping of his own wings!?
itheriael:sooooo....do you wanna talk about your ex?
auriel:....its a very confusing story but uh... should we go see how imperious is doing
itheriel:not it
auriel:not it-ah crap. *sigh*
after that shitshow
inperious:oh greetings auriel
auriel:....you wanna talk about what in the arch just happened with tyrael?
imperious: that's....i....id actually like to get that off my chest yeah....wait actually that reminds me...where the hells is malthael?
auriel:.....thats probably not good..
elsewhere
nephalem:lets see..kick hells ass for the 3 time...check,lets see uh...eh well guess ill see what else i can do. ... wait dont they have a wisdom guy up...oh shit.
If an angel can fall, does that mean a demon can ascend?
Probably in this game
imagine diablo 3 cutscenes look better than the new cutscenes from diablo 4 just because they wanted to have this weird thing where ur character is inside the cutscenes
Theyd slather it with emasculation and "ThE M3sSaGE". This is perfect as is.
ahhhh blizzard. how you have fallen.
My fiance and I are pregnant and we have been playing diablo together. We are having a boy and most likely naming him Tyrael. ❤❤❤
We should really implement a license to procreate. And enforce it by sterilizing parents who give their kids moronic names
Congratulations and having tyrael as a name is cool
@@tylersoto7465 thank you! He is going to be 9 months old soon and is crawling already! ❤️ we are so lucky to have a wonderful son ❤️
@@voidolinstar a name has a meaning and a purpose in life, your son will come out strong and healthy into a great man one day , and hope y'all the best 💫
You are crying,not me! 🥲
Whats the name of that theme in the beginning?
UA-cam's compression algorithm does not do this scene justice
You a active UA-cam"r? I see something here...... And there and everywhere........
Evrybody gangsta until you discovered that this Battle inspired dominus Series on roblox
This scene marks about 90% of any quality writing this game had.
Tyrael is the only true angel!
How many others incarnated within the human vessles to be able to assist humanity to step up to a greater potential and a more positive timeline? Do you remember your origins?
The imperials are much more powerful. I think there must have been two atleast
The mark of Cain treatment.
He turned to Rakim In a second
Could someone make the dialogue between Tyrael and Imperius make in Latin through AI?
Bro! ❤️ it was not all stories
Hard to believe I recreated a frame of this for an art project almost three years ago now
A single frame lol, yeah sounds about right
Joey Berg yea it was a long project took like 2 months in school with my time limits
@@cheshirecat2888 I believe it, recreating even a single frame of a blizzard cutscene is a tall order for one person lol
@I Am Who I Am okay?
I mouthed the words the entire time
Imperious is sort of the fuck up child among the archangels - continually screwing up and blaming others. The three archangels who left the counsel did so in part as a result of his actions.
Is that guy from the roblox skin
Am I the inly one who thinks Tyrael could have helped more if he just left heaven without giving up his power?
Like Inarius who who was in Sanctuary but had all of his powers ( i know he wasn't there bcause he wanted too)
I've been thinking the same. Can't figure out why everyone is admiring him when he basically went to a warzone and left his guns at home. His sacrifice was immense but completely unnecessary.
В русской версии чувствуется некая особая жилка в их диалоге благодаря обработке голоса, в английской такого не ощущается
So this is where it came from
he gave up being an angel and inarius screwed a demon?
I just wanna know why his armor doesnt look anything like this in D4
The angel in D4 is Inarius, a former lieutenant of Tyrael.
