Pretty sad and weird to see players retiring whom I have seen breakthrough or slowly rise up the ranks and have their share of ups and downs ...time surely flies.
I always loved Schvedova's Golden set against Errani. That was cool
Is that available on YT?
@@scotth6814 ua-cam.com/video/b1hqxiQ-MUA/v-deo.html
Here
@@ayrtsennparra3932 Thank you. That was amazing. Errani didn't play that badly either. Shvedova was just in a zone.
Everyone should have had a golden set against Errani, at least once.
@@JACKDAWFISH Poor Errani, it's the one thing she will probably be remembered for most. That's hard to live down.
Didn't know baczisnky retired :(
Loved her unique game of style
Its soo weird to see these players go when youve also seen them as they first broke through on the tour... you saw them regularly back then but had forgotten them in the mean time. Shvedova i felt always had much more in her, great potential in her game.
I wonder if anyone retired after having covid / because of it
Great video. I didn't even know that Yaroslava Shvedova retired.
both Bertens and Konta ones were really unexpected....
Bertens not exactly, she was pregnant and so out of shape Konta maybe
@@alancosta4760 Pregnant ?
@@shngain100 Bertens retired becouse of injury She had operation with Achilles And She didnt get back when She wanted a ND She Is pregnant
I didn't find konta that unexpected cause I remember an article that came out that I'm paraphrasing she said " this is going to be my last year on tour, or I am going give it one more year" something to that effect. Age and muscle weakness and pain I think she cited.
Even though I am a Serena Williams Stan. I like both Kiki and Johanna "jojo" so they will be missed
@@israelmoore9354 She wrote IT on her ig She retired
I was waiting for this. I feel like a few of these ladies had the potential ability to give more, so their retirement was a shock, but they've all acheived stuff to be proud of in their career, and I wish them all the best
Konta had a great year in 2019. Crazy to think she only had 2 more seasons left in her
Konta had the potential to win a Slam, but after her rapid rise she never had that same fire in her game. Bertens could have been a Roland Garros champion, but she had to give up in 2019, which was real shame because she was in such good form back then.
Timea is a pity too, because she was just crafty and fun to watch.
Thanks for putting this together!!
Bojana Jovanovski was such a wasted talent. She didn't improve 10% from junior tennis. Such a shame, there was a good material to develop. I'm shocked Shevdova didn't reach top 20, she was amazing time to time. Kiki was amazing, Carla also with her backhand.
Yeah, her forehand and backhand were pretty pretty good, also her serve was good. Idk why she never succseded, maybe it's because of her injuries, but well never know.
@@heavyblue4985 Her movement was terrible, serve was so flat it's easy to return. No drop shots, no slices, no variation in general. I think that's the reason.
I'll be missing Jo & Kiki.........
I loved "azja" from Bojanovski ! 💙😍🥰
Nice video, I feel like Jovanovski (the grunt) and Gibbs could come back one day still very young.
They were both "grunting", but do you mean the one who was almost saying "Badshot" as a grunt?
If that's the one, I am glad she retired. I would love for Sara Sorribes Tormo to also retire due to her likely-intentional-weird "grunts."
Strycova was still dominant in doubles and had recently been no1, and was still inside the top 40 in singles at 35. But she fell pregnant at the start of the season. Still, very happy for her. She looks very happy with her newborn. She mentioned about having one last swan song at Wimbledon to say goodbye. She was massively entertaining on court and really unique and rather sweet off court.
I'm going to miss Kiki, she was a good clay player.
Good luck and god bless them all . Not forgetting a big thank you 🙏 .
It’s so interesting to see all these players that are much younger than Serena go. This shows the longevity and the greatness of Serena Williams!!!
Serena fans always find a way to make something about her
@@larbil26 Just giving insight. Don’t be mad bc Serena’s at top!’
@@spillomina I love Serena... but she's literally not on the top. She's ranked 41 in the world mate.
@@MarkWardReacts - she was 85 in the world in 2007 as well. Soo
@@k.alvarado6237 yes… and wasn’t top in the world then either… she also wasn’t 40 years old…
do we get a tournament champions of 2021?:)
love your content!
I think Konta was the only one who shouldn’t have. She showed great form in June until august and just got injured. I really think she could still be top 10
Gonna miss Timea
You got Kudryavtseva wrong btw she won 9 doubles titles and reached a career of 15 not 15 titles and a career high of 9
Kiki Bertens will be our best female Dutch tennis player for a long time and if she was a bit more ambitious she could have been or best ever. 1 spot on the WTA-rankingswas possible for her in 2019 imo.
Konta is the only player who still has the game to play :(
Konta was so unexpected for me but I didn't see her playing since the beginning of the year I thought she was retired already
Timea Bacsinszky miss me !
When players have to cut short their careers because of injury one always feels sad. Jo Konta at one time was knocking on the door of breaking into the very top but I guess consistency and then finally injury let her down. Sad that in the year that Raducanu won the US as an unseeded player in her first year. Konta who had been the leading player in the UK for so long retired after never winning a major.
World no.6 and 2 titles, i can't imagine!
The only one in actually sad about is Shvedova. She had the most potential of all of them
Wow love videos like this but it’s sad to see some real stars go. Shocking to see Suarez has only won two titles. I can clearly remember her deep in tournaments and would have expected she won more.
Pro women’s tennis players have the potential to earn more money than any women athlete. Keep grinding!!
Shvedova hat also a brilliant goldset record against Sara. 😂
Amazing thay Suarez Navarro only won 2 singles titles, always assumed higher
That’s how I feel about Li Na only having 9 titles two of them slams….sheesh
It's the second time Navarro has left the game.
Barbora Strycova is going to play one more farewell tournament in furure
Most of them are interesting on court.
Timea and Kiki 😪
Lisicki read [leeśeetskee]
So Nicole Gibbs didn't have a single decent macht ? 🙄
I think covid and life off the tour made some players really think do i want to continue on tour day in day out. I think some have thought i've earned enough money and now they are looking to start families. I think konta will be brought out for Queens and Wimbledon as part of the tv presenter team.
So has Sabine retired?
Why doesn’t anyone announce that “hey this is my last season on tour”
Or “hey guys.. this is my last GS”
It would build anticipation and angst around them one last time at least.
Let the people say goodbye gosh
Navarro & Bertens!
Bit early for Kudraysetva
Maybe Konta deserved RG19
Barbora isn't retired.
CSN only 2 titles ??? 😱
Is this forreal??
Omg they are retiring on their 30s and I’m just starting at my 30s!
30 is not the new 20. Only a handful of elite athletes go past 35. Each generation produces stronger faster more agile players.
The career for most athletes is a decade or so at best.
When S. Williams retires please let us know.
Damn you must have had a hard time watching tennis because she's been all over our screens for the longest time lol
@@fatwp6345 Nazionalismo nero.
What a pity
I really feel that women’s players retire way earlier than men’s players…
They do!
Nice to see all the players that have retired in 2021 getting videos of them winning...and then there was Nicole Gibbs 🙈
Haha thought the same ! Not so many wins at slams of high WTA tournaments
Well yeah probably because she sucked
Jovanovski's grunt is so annoying. Sounds like she's sneezing.
They want babies.. a family. Understandable
why gibbs retired??
Becouse She was Always injured And had operation And She Is pregnant know
But Its my opininon but the right Reason I dont know sorry
A LiNa hater? Always too sad to watch those dummi loses from Lina against Shvedova and Strikova.
Les joueuses femmes arrêtent leurs carrières vraiment très tôt.
who cares? they were all flops anyway
Uhm strycova and shvedova are both grand slam winners in doubles?
@@bqnanaaa4838 exactly. doubles
The only flop was Gibbs. She got so much hype for no reason, she literally sucks
@@santoshthapa8398 If you’re successful in doubles then you’re a flop? That makes no sense
You should change your profile picture, apparently you're not that much of a tennis lover.
