I noticed it too, Either they got changed to be more greyish or the new lighting/texture system is doing them a favour. (Imo, I think they got changed, because ghastly and haunter's shinies seem to be the same)
Dark blue/purple and black/dark grey look very similar in sprite art but they’re much easier to see on the 3D models. Whereas slowpoke and maushold basically do not change in the slightest.
It's because the models are no longer washed out quite so much. Since gen 6 the models they've been using are more dull than the splash art and the sprites
in battle, ogerpon always has her mask. so if you start an battle, look away for a second and hear a shiny sparkle, look back and there’s a shiny on the field along with an ogerpon, you don’t know if the ogerpon is or isn’t shiny. schrodinger’s ogerpon.

@@curiouscreator8806 renaming works with mons you caught yourself. And once with a traded mon as long as it's from a link trade of the same country. Even mons you imported from pokemon Go can be renamed, but also only once. However with any event pokemon it wasn't possible. Not even Mew.
As long as their base form is available, regional variants are as well. So, yeah, A.Ninetails and I'm guessing you mean A.Sandslash are available. The regional variants aren't catchable (besides the Hisuian Growlithe Perrin gives you) but you can transfer them in. Just a heads up, if you want a pokemon that gets a regional form evolution, like Raichu, they won't become their alternate form, but that might change in the Indigo Disk since they showed A.Raichu and A.Exeggutor. Also, you can breed to get regional variants, but the form you want to breed needs to hold an everstone. So, if you want to breed an A.Golem with a Ditto to get a baby A.Geodude, the Golem needs to hold an everstone, otherwise it'll come out as an OG Geodude.

I'll say this much: I've had a sense of relief of finding other shinies ever since I intentionally waded through a Sinistea outbreak, squinting for almost twenty minutes and finally found that pink cup. The Shinies that are hard to tell apart I skipped after that.😂
i've noticed they gave a lot of gen 8 pokemon regionals, as a matter of fact, they gave regionals to ONLY gen 8 pokemon i think we can expect eiscue, stonjourner and alcremie to get regionals in the next update
They've only shown the Sinistcha line 2 evolutions for the entire DLC, Archaludon isn't in Teal Mask and Dipplin can use eviolite so it has an evo in Indigo Disc too. (Do I give datamine spoilers?)

does anyone know why the shinies for some of the new mons suck ass all of a sudden? there are a lot of amazing shinies from the 3D games, which is presumably because the designers themselves chose their colors, but in gen 9 most of them are... average, boring, or barely noticeable.
Honestly, shinies in this generation are the absolute worst. It's barely worth shiny hunting in S/V at all. They started doing this horrible thing since SM/USUM where some shinies have no changes except one color, and it seems like ever since then that's just the new norm. Not to mention the abundance of ones that barely change, or shit like komala and tinkaton. They are hardcore ruining shinies.
I wish they still had the sparkle and sound effect upon spawn like in Legends Arceus because I am NOT gonna be able to spot some of these. Especially if there aren’t others around. And I am not sending my Let’s Go Pokémon after every single Pokémon I see just in case.

Fun Fact: Because I had a shiny base Ursaluna before the DLC released, my Pokédex registered the Blood Moon Ursaluna as an obtained shiny.
