What kind of butt makes a kid trade her Swampert for a mew just cuz you didn't like all the wurmples, like for real just buy another copy, play through the game, and get a different starter.
Cavs 4 life they didn’t get to keep the games they were trading the Mews from, so it just got thrown away anyway.
I remember going to the same Mew event with my Sapphire & LeafGreen games. I traded a spheal from Sapphire & a Gastly from LeafGreen.

I hate legendary events :( Fans in Europe get nothing- we don't have Toys 'r' Us or GameStop. Also, you'd think Nintendo would do a better job announcing and globalizing these events. Americans shouldn't be the only ones with Mews and Mewtwos and the sort.
+Alexandra Roceanu It depends on where in Europe (there were actually quite a few more Mew distributions in Europe, see bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_European_language_event_Pok%C3%A9mon_distributions_in_Generation_I ) but it is true that distribution events are often unfairly US and Japan centric. I'm glad that most of the events in Gen 4/5 were online and worldwide, but it seems they've gone back to favoring retail distributions, which not everyone has access to.

+TamashiiHiroka Sadly, I live in Romania. Is its capital the 11th largest city in Europe? Sure. Do we get easy access to the video game industry? Nope. It was hard enough getting a 3ds, finding games is torture (we literally started getting pokemon only in its 6th gen). I just wish more events were online...

Tamashii's great at tapping into the emotions she had during her childhood, and expressing what each Pokemon means to her personally rather than trying to be objective, which I would find less interesting.
Mewtwo's backstory reminds me of BlackWarGreymon from season 2 of Digimon...
I've noticed that too. BlackWarGreymon got even more philosophical. But then again, in fiction, many artificial intelligent creations go through similar existencial crisis.

Sorry to burst your bubble but, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion are classified as "Mythical" Pokémon not Legendaries.
+Gabriel Lockwood That's really wrong. Mythicals are a type of legendary. They're not separate things, so it's fine to classify them as a legendary. But you can't say that Pokemon like Groudon are Mythicals, because they aren't.
I know, I'm just trying to tell everybody that these pokemon events that are going on this year are "Mythical" pokemon, so they are Not really "Legendary" pokemon, but a sort of sub-class of them. Pokémon such as the Legendary Bird trio, Legendary Beast Trio, the "Sea" and "Sky" Guardian Duo of Johto, the Regi Trio, Regigigas, etc. are "Legendary" Pokémon, while pokemon such as Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, etc. can be classified as "Mythical" Pokémon while still being Legendary, they are rarer, harder to be found poké's so they aren't technically legendary pokemon. Is this too crazy an explanation, or not enough?... IDK... (help me please...)
No, I completely see what you are saying. But what I'm saying is that you shouldn't correct her when she's actually right. Mythicals are still technically legendaries, but are, like you said, rarer and harder to obtain. I agree, people should stop saying, "They are giving away Legendaries!", but instead say "They are giving away Mythicals!" just cause it's way more precise. But she did say that this was her "Top 10 Favorite Legendaries", so adding a few Mythicals in there wasn't technically wrong.
I agree entirely, with all those "little" kids goin' around yelling (in SUPER annoying voices) "Look I got the Legendary Pokemman!" But, yes I see your point, and i may have gone a "teeny" little overboard on the whole topic, but still, felt like some people needed to know the difference, but thank you for your help clearing up any misunderstandings/troubles that I caused. What a great video! I always love watching your Top 10s. You always have such interesting reasons for valuing the pokemon/regions/etc. that you value. Your reason behind loving Jirachi was especially touching. I had a similar experience that made me value stars and constellations, so I now really treasure a lot of the space-related pokemon for that reasons.

I shed a tear when you talked about Articuno and the other gen 1-2 Pokèmons because I too, as a kid, felt that they were majestic and magical- the true features that fit the "legendary" bill. Chills down my spine when I got to face myself across Mewtwo and Articuno in Pokèmon red, or randomly find an Entei out of the blue in Silver! They were the culmination of power and rareness, one of a kind and very hyped. Not to mention Mew, which was a legend talked to death amongst us kids during lunch time (the St. Anne, the supposed hacks to get it, etc.)
I haven't followed the newer generations as much later, but perhaps they kind went overboard on Legendaries from there on (especially from 4th gen). Introducing LOTS of them each single time kind of took away from that aura of uniqueness that is supposed to be there, if you get the feeling.

Great list you have here and I love the reasons you have behind why you like them.
For me, my favorites are:
1. Celebi (Gen 2 was the first generation I started and I always loved Celebi as a Pokemon)
2. Entei (Again, the movie it played in cemented my opinion, as the third movie is my favorite. I also like how...powerful it seems, the way it holds itself)
3. Mew (A cute pink legendary and the mystery and lore behind it is fascinating)
4. Darkrai (A misunderstood Pokemon with a cool design and awesome movie in my opinion)
6. Deoxys (a Pokemon from Space, nuff said.)
7. Latios (On my first playthrough of Emerald, I actually ran into one as a random encounter, very unexpectedly and caught it before it could get away. It got me through the Battle Frontier and remains one of my favorites of Gen 3.)
8. Mewtwo (His backstory and character appeal to me, especially his origin story)
9. Giratina (My favorite legendary of Gen 4, and its design and role in Platinum made it all the more awesome
10. Lugia (the Movie 2000 was the first movie I remember watching, and Lugia ended up being so awesome to me. I love its song as well)
That story about Jirachi was really sweet! You can't sound of your mind when describing memories; it was touching. I really enjoyed ur list. :)
One time when I was in 4th grade, I had a dream that I was in a building that was collapsing, and water was flooding in, threatening to drown me. Then after a few pieces of rubble fell, there was Raikou. I still remember the pokémon leaping to my rescue, and me riding on it's back to safety. Ever since that dream, I've always felt a fondness for Raikou

Nicely done!!! My personal favorite legendary Pokemon is Darkrai. As you said, its importance in the Pokemon World largely stems from its antithesis with Cresselia, but it should also be said that Darkrai doesn't bring nightmares to others on purpose, but just as a means of self-defense. Long story short, Darkrai isn't really evil, and further proof of that can be found in the tenth Pokemon movie (my personal favorite, nonetheless!).
And Lugia is my fav legendary

Ho-Oh is, without a doubt, my favorite Legendary.
I had both Gold and Silver as a kid, but I started with Gold because I was obsessed with phoenixes back then. This was before I knew that legendary pokemon were so much more powerful than others, and even before I realized that Ho-Oh was the Pokemon from the first episode. It was just the coolest looking thing I'd ever seen, and I wanted it. I caught it as soon as I could, and it never left my party. It was an integral part of the team, and more importantly, the symbol of my entire love for Pokemon.

Call it picky but I hate when people refer to the Johto Trio as "the dogs." I mean...Raikou is a tiger, and I'd say it's safe to say the Entei is designed after a lion...

There was actually one more way to get Mew in Gen 1, and I'd know because I got it that way. As a promotion for the first movie, Mew was distributed to anyone with Red, Blue or Yellow at malls across the US

Ah, I remember that 2006 Mew distribution. The Toys R' Us line was long, but getting it in my FireRed gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. Coming close to 5 generations later once the Switch game comes out, and it's still one of my favorite Pokémon; even outranking old favorites like Charizard and Lucario (although they are still up there).
Found your channel just now and I gotta say your content is awesome stuff. And I'm glad Lugia was on this list as it's my favourite Pokemon ever! You just earned yourself another sub! :D And btw, what was the theme playing throughout the video? It sounded epic.

Neat list! In no particular order, here are my Top 11 favorite legendary Pokemon:
Regigigas, Latios, Mewtwo, Meloetta, Suicune, Ho-Oh, Rayquaza, Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, and Origin Form Giratina.
Honorable mentions go to Tornadus, Landorus, Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, Genesect, Entei, Raikou, Regice, Registeel, and Regirock.
Personally and in no particular order, my least favorite legendary Pokemon are Keldeo, Manaphy, and Phione.
I honestly believe Mewtwo is still my number 1 favorite legendary personally lol, but I do admire your preferences. I think the first video I saw of yours was that April Fools joke one about the max stat glitch in the first gen games... but I've since discovered you have many other videos as well and plan to watch any that pique my interest. Can I just say it's rare for me to find a girl who is into Pokemon like you are and frankly I think it's awesome! The more people who play these games the merrier. Now, onto why I'm sending you this message lol; I was wondering if you're interested in exchanging names and friend codes in time for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon. I find myself branching out more on both UA-cam and with Pokemon players around the world, and given my social quirks and eccentricities any form of interaction with people is not exactly my forte.
It's always a wonderful thing for me to meet another diehard Pokefan, and if you're at all interested I'd love to battle you whenever you find the time. Jirachi: Wish Maker was a movie I adored as a kid and still love to this day and I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves Jirachi (though they're only my third favorite legendary, behind Azelf and Suicune)
Personally my favorite legendary is Meloetta.
She not only makes Jigglypuff eat her heart out, she also saved me in a lot of battles. In Pokemon X when I had her in the game she defeated the Elite 4 on her own. She took a beating but she never went down, never forgetting that moment. I also really liked how she was in the anime, she was really awesome in battles and was used in some pretty funny moments with some Pokemon falling in love with her and getting jealous. :P

My favourite legendary Pokemon is Darkrai. He looks amazing, but very simple. His way of battling and interesting, and I never was able to get him until the ORAS event, which gave him a feeling of mystery, because I didn't know what he'd be like. Then I got him and he's even cooler looking than I thought.

my fave legendary is palkia because pokemon pearl was my first pokemon game and palkiabecause looked so cool with its amazing cry and it's amazing moves when defeating the pokemon pearl league

As a young kid I liked pokemon but had no idea what was going on or how to do it. I think I had one of the gen 2 games because I remember running around trying to capture the beasts, but I was unsuccessful. I also played pokemon mystery dungeon but got stuck because I sucked at pokemon and eventually just lost my copy of the game. This was all on my Nintendo DSI which is still have, at 12 years old, but never use. I had lost my DSI for maybe a year but found it a few months ago. I watched some of the pokemon B&W Anime on TV but not the whole series and once it finished it didnt go onto the next because CITV were like 3 series' behind. But since the release of Pokemon Go I have been reconnected to the pokemon world and I am the biggest fan of it is have ever been in my life! I hope I can start to play the pokemon games soon tho because id love to be on that hype train!

When I first played, I caught entai outside of goldenrod, but I never caught raikou, because I used my master ball on ho-oh. It was so amazing to get it though.
