- A washing machine that folds away clean clothes, a voice-responsive mobile fridge and a smart sake cooler that recommends meal pairings for your chosen bottle are among the concepts showcased by Panasonic at consumer electronics fair IFA in Berlin.
In a section of its stand called Better Living Tomorrow, the Japanese technology company is demonstrating a number of prototype concepts that might one day become common household devices - but more likely won't.
The imagined products are based around new developments in the internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, allowing them to connect to the internet and perform complicated tasks autonomously.
These technologies "support a variety of aspects of our lives, making the time spent with family and friends more delightful", according to Panasonic.
The largest of the inventions on display is the Sustainable Maintainer, a washing machine that launders items individually and ends by delicately folding them onto a shelf.

Now that this exists I need a shower that scrubs my skin and hair for me so I can just nap
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’d settle for a robot that scrubs the shower since I’m injured and this is very hard for me. Lol I mean they have ones that stay on windows. Why it walls of the shower q
😅😅
Its definitely something you can develop, I wish for folding washing machines and dishes return to cardboards after dishwasher. But this one looks early stage products, not every home has large space for it, plus it’s washing one by one cost energy. I look forward for the later version
I want one!! This would be great for people with injuries, disabilities, illness, lack of time, just endless reasons where this can add convenience!
S Jackson just making people more useless. Letting a machine do your work. What happened to beating your clothes with a rock out by the river. Smh
squints palledorous look at comment the guy still think get a wife to push such work to her, which mean the guys are never stop control women and reject do it himself, always want women treat him as king.
Atleast this machine will stop torture and control the item, not the human anymore.
Desert Foxx I worked in dobi shop before, u can pay money to help you do laundry job, if u don't hv this machine.
If you're injured, disabled, or sick, you sure don't want to be running back and forth to add one piece of clothing at a time and, unless you have a large enough laundry room for folding table where you can place the clean clothes, you're going to be going back and forth one piece at a time to put them away.
@@squintspalledorous3376 You go beat your clothes on a rock for a family of 6 or so. And see if you still dont want an improvement.
what about a basket full of clothes like 99.9% of the population
What about for someone with disabilities living alone?
Love the idea! I'll be waiting for an updated everyday life friendly version!!
This only shows that something like this still pretty much exists only in your dream.
You can't just put together robotic arms and sensors in a cabinet and call it a washing machine that folds your clothes. You HAVE to demonstrate its reliability over and over again.
My family would crash this thing in 2 weeks! It couldn't keep up with our needs. No thanks, unless it's free
I think that's the case for most people. Anybody who could afford this machine probably doesn't even get dirty
hahahaha
One cloth at a time = waste of water + electricity + detergent + time
Wood Austin yes 😤
I really like Panasonic product its a good product👌👌
@wood Austin It sprays the optimal amount of detergent on the dirty area, I'd say minimal water would be used....
Luckily water is reusable.
This is an improper mathematical equation
Im all teary eyed. If this becomes the norm by the time Im retired. I will be very happy. I do laundry... every...single...day. House of 4 and a dog😣
Alejandra Jeldrez Finally someone who has business commenting. Only other people are just teenagers that never watched clothes and criticize this mashine.
I'm 18 years old, but I do laundry every single day at home, and in the same time I study. We are 4 people and 4 cats. But to be honest I would continue use my normal washing and drying machine as it can hold much more clothes at the same times. Reading the comments seems the machine takes something like 3 to 5 minutes per cloth, so it would be longer than normally if every 3 minute you would have to load it. By the way this is definitely something I would try
Though I'm in college now and only wash my own clothes, I have always found washing clothes therapeutic. Now it just takes less time to wash clothes since it's only my laundry I'm doing, instead of the whole household, which is nice because I need all the spare time I can get. I also optimize that time by doing other cleaning or studying while the laundry is getting done.
I could understand how washing for a big family on top of other chores/work could get tiring every day though.
Alejandra I wish you a lot of love, happiness and succes with your family life.
Women like you keepnthe world alive and running. Thanks, from a man.
Wife material right there xd
This could be improved by having a few drawers for each item to create a queue. My husband and I get ready for bed at the same time and we would each have socks, underwear, shirts and pants to throw in the dirty laundry. That's about 8 items of clothing each day. So, maybe have a drawer for socks, undies, shirts and pants, or something like that. Or even have some hangers for dirty clothes. When you take them off, put them on the hanger and form a queue. The machine could do one item at a time as it works through all the pieces. Smaller things like socks and undies go in a drawer. I would rather have each item on a hanger and cleaned while on the hanger and have them line up on the other side via hanger. I don't like folded clothing. Just some ideas.
I need a washer/dryer that not only takes my clothes out of the dryer, irons them, and folds them. I also need it to put my clothes in my closet and dresser drawer. Is that too much to ask? LOL!!
We should get our washing machines connected to the wardrobe so it does that, right? Wish some engineer would pick up on such convenience.
I enjoy laundry time, i can relax my brain and even use for thinking time through out the boring process...
Wow, will have one please! Hate washing, drying, ironing and folding. Now to get a machine that puts it away hahaha
Me searching up brilliant ideas I have to only find out someone else has already done it 50x better than I thought it.
Washing one piece at a time would take forever to get laundry done. Plus, this is huge and, I’m sure, very expensive. Next!
But you wouldn't have a big pile of laundry to do! Everytime you take something off just put it in!

Remember learning how big computers started just to count and do simple math? Now we hold them in our hands. It all starts somewhere.
Please have this delivered to my address in the quickest time. THANKS!!
its been forever now, lol
the way that guy interact with this mechine makes me feel it's so fragile.
Seems more useful if you got the shirt you're wearing dirty and want to clean it quick but doesn't seem to replace a washer and dryer that can hold a lot more. Judging by the tech it's probably very expensive too so you're probably better off getting a top of the line washer and dryer and flooding the clothes yourself.
wow no shit!
Flooding?
Wow.. you mean to say if i put in one blouse.. I'll get two after?? Amazing indeed!!
It looks like it's slow, inefficient, inconvenient and ridiculously lazy
Rey SC if you could throw in in each garment as its removed (instead of placing in a dirty clothes hamper/basket) not that inefficient...
Honestly now?
It's for rich people who own clothes that are much more expensive than this invention... our 2$ t-shirts don't deserve such good treatment
People have said the same thing about every new innovation. Said it was lazy. From vacuum cleaners, to electric and gas stoves, to sewing machines. This is progress!
+Frangulea Robert Maybe they can put them in an apartment complex laundry room, then it would be accessible to people of more modest means.
That machine is HUGE, big enough to conceal two Mexican ladies inside that actually do all the work. I wouldn’t be surprised if instead of electricity it actually runs on tamales.
PANASONIC
ideas for life
Introducing a stove that cooks and eats your food! A new luxury for the ultra-rich!
This item would be great for those with disability who can’t do their own laundry and wash, wonderful design
I love it one day we'll have robots to even put away our washing
Plot twist: There is a washed cloth kept in the final drawer already.
I want a machine that also picks my clothes from the floor where I throw it and when its washed and folded it should go in my closet and place it rightly
Wow amazing ...india m shyd abi ye nai h ...
muito bonita essa máquina de 10 toneladas, excelente para enviar pelos correios
I love the folding machine. Can be sold now online .
How is everybody commenting about only washing one piece at a time? Clearly there is a bin to place several items at once. If you can put your day’s clothes in and they’re already washed, “pressed”, and folded, there’s never a need to to an entire load of laundry for clothing. Maybe the bed linens.
Great for the days when you’re feeling more than a bit off colour. An sounds environmentally friendly. But if I do have a criticism about it, it would be that all of these technological advances are making us a little lazy and making us more than a little obsolete
Far from environmentally friendly, it's actually worse than a normal washing machine
If the machine can do ironing is much better
KO JEAN Clothes come out ironed because it’s dried that way
We could fold almost all the clothes in the closet by the time this machine washes and folds one freakin shirt
It's size of a room, I'll wait until it's size of desktop.
Yes this is a fantastic system. We have had one like it in our home for forever...its called MUM/MOM!!!!!
This would be perfect for children. They could wash that day’s outfit, learn about laundry, and I think you can watch the process so yeah. Not practical for adults but functional and smart for children. No detergents or heat or easy access doors. Ages...5+. Yuh
And finally my mom says, go wash it by hands with brush.
I have a family of 5. You want to impress me? Show me a washer that handles sheets, comforters and is able to *transport to each room. My kids already know how to hide clothes in a cupboard. They learned that one all their own. Cost to me? Zero!
If they can't handle laundry let them get used to wrinkles. That's what I call a sustainable life lesson.
1 at a time! Imagine wash day for a family of 6! I am missing something here.
This has size of a wardrobe, awesome invention from Panasonic but it takes to space and is very slowly.
It looks like mortuary cold chamber to me. But I love it!
I NEED THIS
So the machine will know if theres blood stains on the clothes... might not suitable for my line of work 😎
Is this only for 3 phase??
It seems ridiculous, but wait .... skipped forward and notice that they put one shirt in and multiple shirts came out ! Ok then I want one ! I mean, if it duplifies my clothing I could make a business out of it. OMG I'm gonna be so rich ! ;)
Nice video
What if you called your fridge "bastard"? As in "oi, bastard I want a beer now!"
What is it's price? Please tell me about it
when you gotta put 1 month's worth of clothes in, and you only have 10 minutes
fucked
Plot twist: a midget washer folder lives in there
its like a magic I love Panasonic products
Nice, but I would need a bigger house, to fit a washing machine, that size. That would take up most of the space in my kitchen.
Ha! Kids would be putting in the pet tortoise 🤣
If our ancestors saw this when all they had was a washboard and some self they would say that we were beyond lazy. I don't think that they would laud us
Is it available in India ?
No I need it to do the actual ironing plus folding - now that would be something.
Price please?
How much price
This is okay but the machine probably only does a few clothes at a time
KittiOnlinex but you can just put the clothes in and pick them up when they are ready. And in video it takes only few minutes per clothing
this machine can take 42 clothes at the same time and diferrent colors size etc
Even Burt Reynolds knew the most expensive way to get his laundry done......marriage.......
Weird. It does One garment at a time. What is the wash and dry method?
I like it. I will not buy one but it will create a market that one day might yield something I will buy :)
What is its price
Price?
SPOILER ALERT: Go wash and dry your clothes by yourself.
I dont even fold i just dry and straight into my dresser
Where's the fridge? Oh...I guess no one called it.
Lol I bet there were two shirts used in the demo
If you need this, you probably can’t afford it. This is just a prototype I imagine. The actual machine would be prohibitively expensive to make. Cheaper to let the maid do it. Plus anyone else scared of all those moving parts? Got to be prone to breaking down & so many places for it to goof up. I just washed an blouse like that yesterday. Just threw it into the HE washer, pulled out the detergent drawer, pushed it in & then pressed 3 buttons. In 40 minutes it was clean with no mechanical hands necessary.
Best part is you can run on down to your local Sears and pick one up.
Wow really superb 👌👌👌
what is its price???
Did he smell the shirt😆😆😆😆...and I'll pass on the machine..cool...thanks but no thanks...next your favorite shirt could be trapped in the machine forever..due to malfunctioning!!🤣
What is its price and name and where will I get it please tell me
What is the cost
We have dhobi in India who does exactly the same thing.
Gopal Ojha Lucky you! Or lazy you hahah
Exactly, probably in much less time and equal or more efficiency..😆
Haha ah kool but seriously they r so unhygienic.... it’s like they mix other dirty clothes with urs.... and man they rinse or not! Who knows... and then they iron and burn hole in shirts... smoking...heh but is kool for someone who is not crazy like me.... and word of caution ur kool shirt can get mysteriously lost:)
Gopal Ojha 😂😂

You buy this, he gets no work, no pay and he can't afford to send his kids to school. Congratulations, you deprived a child of his education.
Wait, oh, I had to check the date. Not April 1st. This feels like a Saturday Night Live skit.
If you order this thing, do you get that guy with it?😏🤪
Price please
Their french accent makes you kinda want to buy it
It's takes more time to push the panel, then to turn the machine on.
Am i the only one who wants buttons on that? Just touching the wall seems wierd
Wow thats a dream machine!
i will print my clothes by that time.
How much ? Product full name please !
Superb one
I have to build a room for this one
