My first ONEWE song was Rain to Be, and Kanghyun really caught my eye. Then I listened to Regulus and Star and Yonghoon just climbed up my bias list with his voice alone, and singlehandedly made me stan ONEWE😭

Onewe's biggest strength is definitely their live performances. (They did start with busking on the street for years) Yonghoon's stage presence is truly something else when he's performing live. You gotta watch some of his concert fancams, especially for the ballads like Star or Envision.

The first time I heard Onewe was before they were actually, it was Feeling Good Day by MAS0094 in 2015. (They were really babies then and I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since then) I found them purely on accident after watching an underrated kpop songs video and they have since become my ults (along with A.C.E) with Yonghoon and Kanghyun (aka leader line) as my ult biases. One of my absolute favorite things about them is their lyricism and the emotions they put in their songs. So yeah they mean everything to me haha

I was using my mums Amazon music not my Spotify and just playing my usual mx, shinee and shinee solos so after Key played, Regulus came on and I was confused? But then Yonghoon’s vocals grabbed me by the throat 💀 I love star/space lyrics and pretty melodies, too. So thank you to the app linking Onewe and Onew together 😅. Annoyingly, this was on yonghoon’s enlistment day 💀. Timing. Instant favourite vocals with shinee. Then I watched their content and then it was personality and talent and it was over
But also i saw my favourite reactors reacting to them and just thought oh, onew! Wait no it’s not- and didn’t check them out sooner 😭fool

What a great question! The song that grabbed my attention and astounded me was Parting, but I didn't truly start stanning and become a weve until their Planet Nine: Alter Ego album came out, and I found myself falling in love with every track on the album. The only reason I didn't become an immediate weve after hearing Parting was (I think) because I was pretty new to kpop and hadn't ever fully stanned a group before (Mamamoo kinda/almost, but not to the level I went with ONEWE).
And yesss, I would love to see you do a discography dive! ONEWE have so many phenomenal bsides, it's well worth going through their full discography.
I'm not sure when the new I'm Live ONEWE episode will be up, they livestreamed it last week so some people are guessing it will be another couple weeks before the episode goes up on ytube, but we don't know for sure.
Take care of yourself, and feel better soon!

Oh goodness, my journey to becoming a Weve is basically a story of me kicking myself for being an idiot because hindsight is 20/20. Technically, my first Onewe song was Ring on My Ears right when it first came out. Banger song, but stupid me didn't pay a lot of attention to the artist or what company they were signed to, and didn't even add the song to my playlist. 🤦🏼‍♀ Even worse is that due to real life getting in the way, I essentially...completely forgot about them for over a year until I was finally seriously getting into Oneus, who I'd been listening to since debut but hadn't gotten around to viewing any of their content. It wasn't until I was watching I Shall Debut that it dawned on me that this band with them was 1. the same band I'd seen on The Unit with Dongmyeong who I'd also seen on Produce 101, and 2. had that one banger song I'd listened to a year earlier. 😓 So while I'd been watching I Shall Debut for Oneus I was naturally also charmed by Onewe and that's when I listened to Regulus. So for me, Regulus is my true first Onewe song.
There are...a lot of Weve who take issue with the fact Onewe/Oneus are marketed as brother bands, but for some people that connection is the leaping point that they need. There's plenty of overlap between the two groups because they're all friends, so I'm sure even if they weren't promoted as brother groups and Onewe were still named MAS I would have dabbled in their music, but I can't say with certainty that I'd be as into them as I am now if they weren't. It was because of that camping trip on I Shall Debut that I fell for them and that wouldn't have happened if they weren't being sold as brother groups. For me it was a gift: I went looking to stan one group and I got a second one for free! Five bonus boys to love!
Some context about Crazy Good: Giuk wrote Crazy & Crazy (the original name of the song) for his SoundCloud but when he brought it to the CEO/director he was asked if he would instead give it to Oneus for their debut album. Because the original version is a rap song, only Oneus' rappers and Giuk are featured on the track. During a vlive where Giuk was walking fans through the process of producing Crazy & Crazy a fan commented and asked him if he'd make a Onewe version of the song to which he replied that making a band version of that song "seems impossible". So naturally in one of the biggest music flexes ever he went and recreated a band version, and that's why we have a fan song in Crazy Good. And it truly is astounding how he completely transformed the song. Our maknae's a musical genius! 🥰

Wait some people really has issues with them being brother groups? I've never heard of that before, could you explain a bit? Like what's the reason??

@@tomoovehk Weve in general have a lot of disdain towards RBW and how the company handles Onewe and some (read: a lot) of that stems from them being brother groups with Oneus.
There's a good deal of bitterness in the difference of how the groups are treated and them being labeled brother bands puts them in the context of a family in which the parent is clearly playing favorites. Oneus have gone on multiple tours, have two lightsticks, got their fandom name less than 100 days after debut, and regularly have comebacks and media appearances. Meanwhile Onewe still haven't had a tour or a lightstick, had to wait a full year for a fandom name, and while they get to release music pretty often they barely get any music show appearances or outside promotions. Not to mention news articles about RBW pretty consistently leave Onewe out when listing their groups while at the same time RBW uses the members to help their other groups (Giuk producing Crazy & Crazy and appearing in PK's Zombie MV, Kanghyun doing the guitar for the rock version of Valkyrie, the two of them and Harin doing the music for Moonbyul's cover of Congratulations, etc. etc.).
Being tied to Oneus means they're always going to be roped together but constantly losing out to the group that is more popular because kpop fans prefer traditional idol groups over bands.
So there are a lot of Weve waiting for their contracts to expire so they can leave RBW, go back to being MAS, and reclaim their identity as a band outside of being Oneus' brother group.
And I do want to mention that Weve are by and large very respectful in hating only on RBW and that I haven't seen them direct any negativity at Oneus. They're very aware of the root of the problem and that Oneus are not at fault for being the beneficiary of RBW's attention.

@@whit-ness ohh i get it now thanks so much for explaining! I ult both groups but I gotta admit I didn't really think much about the difference in their treatment.

Both Yonghoon and Dongmyeong have very strong stage presence. Yonghoon is more emotional and feeling the ballads (you can legit feel the pain when he sings and HIS EYES) while Dongmyeong is more playful and engaging the audience.

ty for reacting! onewe live are so good!
so yeah love me, eraser, crazy good were the songs u didn't know yet
crazy good is actually not a cover of oneus song
so the story is: giuk made a song called crazy&crazy for himself and oneus rap line (leedo and ex-member ravn) that was on oneus first album
then iirc weves asked to make a onewe version of it, so giuk did, but it's a completely different song, the only thing that is simar is that phrase "crazy good/crazy&crazy" (미쳤다, 미쳤어)
also crazy good is the song onewe made for weves, the lyrics make it clear (something along the lines: we had a long way to get here, we changed names (mas0094, mas, onewe), we made a lot of songs, we hope we are destined for each other) and esp this line "we shine on you" which is sort of a catchphrase for onewe-weve and I think u caught this phrase on kanghyun's guitar strap in one of ur previous reactions
    yeah so that's it
u asked what song made me stan onewe
my first song was Q, I think since I was (and still am) a big moomoo I went to check out what my girl hwasa was doing
tbh I thought it was cool but ig I wasn't very much impressed and that's why didn't go deeper
then when I forgot alrd that I even checked them out a few years later in the beginning of 2022 I wanted to check out some boy groups, and I decided to go with oneus and onewe
onewe just came back with universe_ at the time and damn.. I was in awe, they blew me away, they very quickly became my ultimate group/band and still are, love them so much
also I'm so glad u will check out them more, YESYESYES we want that discography check reactions!
and hahaha it's so funny I write u always when ur filming, it's like I know when ur filming😈
and since u liked the acoustic version of parting that much mb... 🤓👉👈 checking out all of their acoustic versions is a good idea?
after the discography check I think, cuz they have some bsides acoustic versions
