You missed an important part of his career at Braga: of the 13 games/ 10 wins; 2 were against Porto, 1 against Benfica and 2 against Sporting. He won all of them.
In 2018, Amorim worked at Man United as an intern under Jose Mourinho. Now, he is the manager at Old Trafford. I saw the UCL game where Amorim’s Sporting played against Ten Hag’s Ajax. Sporting lost badly, 1-5. Most of the comments were about Antony, saying he was amazing and could become a superstar. Football can be so surprising sometimes. The best thing about Amorim, in my opinion, is how he helped Sporting win a league title after 20 years. It’s a bit like Klopp with Liverpool, but they waited even longer. This should give United fans hope for the future. But then again, United had hopes with ETH, and now it’s the same with Amorim. The fact that he even outlasted Ashworth already is impressive for now 🎉
@@AfonsoPina false, the 1-5 loss was in the first match of the group phase that season on september 15th. Also Sporting had to win the last match against Dortmund to qualify, in none of those matches they were already qualified that season.
Ruben Amorim 😊 Won't be an easy job he will face a lot of hurdles/obstacles, there will be many bad days but I'm quietly optimistic. Patience 🙂 GGMU ♥️
Bruno Fernandes did not cancel his contract. He was one of the only stars who stayed stating the club deserve to receive money for his sale, a promise he kept when he moved to United
He did initially cancel it, but then changed his mind and returned. There was even a rumor about Benfica signing him on a free. But he chose to come back and state that, and so did Bas Dost and Rodrigo Battaglia. Rafa Leão, Rui Patrício, William Carvalho, Daniel Podence, Ruben Ribeiro and Gelson Martins all left for free.
This is what we liked Tifo Football, you guys used to make tactical videos explaining the tactics of a coach. If this was Tifo in 2018 you'd be explaining deeper about R. Amorim's 3-4-3 system and what Manchester United fans can expect from his style of play. This was much better because it was simplified than watching The Athletic podcast. It was easier on the eye. Bring back the old Tifo Football, from Player Profiles to Sensible Transfers please. 🙏
I mean, if reports are true, then Ashworth wanted Howe or Southgate. If that is the case, then I can't imagine being Ashworth knowing that the manager you have isn't the one you wanted. That would undermine a working relationship somewhere eventually.
"How did he lead Sporting to break the Porto/Benfica duopoly in Portugal? He made them better at football". What a great line. Anyway, welcome to the year 0 RE, I guess.
This is a great channel . I love your content. Your production is amazing . Backround music is always great as well . I don’t agree with Neville comment on Amorim . This is way to early to give judgment on Amorim at MAN U. He needs time . Next season would be a good assessment year and not this year . Let’s go MAN U !!
Looking at his track record at Braga and Sporting made me believe that he will achieve success at United. Even more so because he's sticking with his system rather than find a right system to accommodate the players.
ETH was also exceptional before ManU. He achieved a lot with two different Ajax teams, and he used two different formations. As a United fan I'm really sad and tired, have the feeling that we are doomed to failure even if the structure is there at last. And don't tell me the players are bad, they are good.
There are far too many players there who are nothing like as good as they think they are, and nowhere near the quality that their wages suggest they should be.
EtH never even tried to implement his Ajax system at United. He abandoned his principles completely after we lost 4-0 away at Brentford in his 2nd game. That's the difference between him and Amorim. United have now lost 2 league games in a row, yet you can be sure that Amorim will go to the Etihad next weekend and still play his style of football. He has sworn to live or die by it. I admire that.
Hi, where can i watch pl matches from different angles like you, which football streaming platforms offer a variety of point of views, i would like to analayse games like you please can you tell me
Will enough none United fans be smart enough to worry about this happening again and how do they plan to sabotage this process? As a United fan myself I can't help but be very optimistic. This guy is gonna do it, it just might take a little while. Is this the power of self belief and having an expert grasp on the human psyche, along with all the football side qualifications? Perhaps all smart former utility players could be moulded in this way? I'm trying to think now of former players who seemed smart and could learn all the psychology degree stuff you need. Do you need to have a penchant for it, be a natural psychologist? This is probably why all top players don't become top managers, because they lack the complete skill set. Amorim's people skills are impressive, yet for the most part it can be learned behaviour. Former players need study the people side of the game more if they want to be top managers. It's no longer good enough to respected so much for your playing achievements. It might work at one club if you get off to a good start and maintain it, I don't think it's sustainable or transferable skills anymore. There's your next video for Jon Mackenzie, exploring what former players are currently taught as they do their UEFA A license, are they encouraged to take courses of psychology, sociology, management? A lot of us have had good bosses at work as well as bad ones, ask yourselves, what skills and characteristics do they have which makes them inherently good or bad?
The writing on this one seems so off... The intro about an assault has nothing to do with Amorim. Also "after 2 losses at the start of the season, he was ready to quit" followed by "he wasn't going down with out a fight".
If you want to lose definitively, hire Portuguese or French coaches because 90% of them have no idea about tactics and make their teams play quite badly.
Hiring Amorim at least shows Berrada knows what he's doing to an extent. Ashworth thinking Southgate should have been gaffer is serious red flags, like a girl with a bull nose ring who complains about her ex's. Good on the club for recognizing the change of direction but whoever decided on the timing is seriously brain deficient
You should have saved this info from casual fans who dont read history. This video at least can buy amorim few months at most at a later date in case man utd suffers during those period. Best to release this when fans need to be deluded into fake hope on a later date. Missed opportunity
More than likely in the next year or 2 these weak mentality Utd players will get this manager sacked just like they did with ETH. Gotta get rid of the deadwood
He skipped stages too much already. Although out his career he's been doing it. To earn a spot at the premier league Mourinho had to win the champions league with Porto because winning only the UEFA Cup wasn't enough. He did it in consecutive years. That's supremacy. 20 years later you win the portuguese league twice and you're up... Next big thing. 😂

This was before sporting started gaining that UCL pedigree
People forget Liverpool were a mid table side for a while until klopp came and changed them
The 5-1 loss to Ajax is irrelevant because Sporting played with youngsters because they were already qualified.
