It'd be great if they did. It was on UA-cam but it recently got blocked. It was remastered too. I think it was those fuckers at Beggars Group at it again.
The Smile once again proving that innovation and raw emotion can coexist in music. Every song feels like a journey, and witnessing this live at Pitchfork is the stuff of legends. 🔥🎶 Can't believe we're living in the era of such masterpieces.
@@StefanMichaels-ut9jg I’m a millennial born in the 90s. So no, I’ve never heard of “the 60s” nor would I have liked to live in that time period either.
@@OdhranWAR exactly! the hero who doesn’t know he’s a hero as American comedian Brian Regan would say although maybe not necessarily in this case because I don’t know if he is a fan of Radiohead or the whole knighting system or of being tagged in UA-cam comments but yeah I kinda get that about Thom
I was pretty blown away when I realized Johnny played the guitar along with the arpeggio(?) thing of the synth on White flag. Is it that "easy"? I get this fuzzy prog feeling from it.
5:38 The Doors vibes are coming through The Smile. Radiohead is still alive. This whole video is a psychedelic experience. Trancendental. I wake up with a cunning smile and a tear seeing this. Absolutely amazing perfomance
I'm not as addicted to the persona of Thom as I turned out to be about Jeff Buckley, but I like that he seems so happy in these concerts. The music of both (and their bands, obviously) is however the soundtrack of my life.
It's good ngl, but I disagree. Pana-vision, Speech Bubbles, Open the Floodgates, Thin Thing and Skating on the Surface are much better songs imo. But kudos to you if it's your favorite.
anyone knows what is the exact use of 2 x Focusrite Clarett interfaces behind Johnny Greenwood? one for inputing/outputing signals from his laptop MaxPSP, other for backup?
I've got the Radiohead itch again. This is awesome. I have an idea... Guest artists and create an EP with The Smile. Who are the guests you ask? Hear me out... Okay... Trent Reznor. Mike Patton, Stewart Copeland, Louis Cole, Danny Elfman. Not all in one song but perhaps one guest in each song? Anywho... Looking forward to diving into The Smile some more. Cheers!
If I didn't know there were magnificently talented members of Radiohead in this band I would never ever guess they were so gifted. This music is nauseating and actually made me viscerally angry it was that annoying. Before anyone says they aren't trying to be Radiohead here, of course that goes without saying. They could be singing K-Pop and if it was awful I would say, if it was magnificent I'd say. I'm basing this on what the music is making me feel. It is making me feel anger and grateful for the silence after I pressed pause. Horrible, mangled pretentious nonsense and there will be Radiohead diehards the opposite who will say it's phenomenal whether they believe that or not. Because Stan's can't abide negativity of any kind whether constructive or not, even. How can (some of) these guys have made some of the best modern music I've ever heard and then make this filth 😊. Must be cathartic for them to dribble this out and in the face of any naysayers (myself included). Lastly, did Thom take unsinging lessons for this?

Ever heard of the 60’s?

@@StefanMichaels-ut9jg 60's was great but with this kind of attitude it's bound to be forgotten. Or rather remembered for its pretentious pricks.
Waving A White Flag is in my top 3 of the album. Such a layered and unique sound. Jonny and Thom can't go wrong.
This is an astonishing performance of that song, damn.
I saw Tom flying, while johnny was walking on the water. I swear.
I love watching Nigel lurk in the shadows, nonchalantly throwing wild fxs on Thom
I have this album playing on loop in my car since it was released.
Same
I don't have a car, but same, in my computer and phone.
The same..❤

Jon Greenwood is here too.
Please please upload Thin Thing. That was one of best performances of that song, especially with the extended bass line during the funky chorus bit.
a triumphant triptych to show those who don't know The Smile
Yaay. Just what we need of a rainy storm battered UK to get our groove on of a Friday afternoon ❤❤❤
Jonny killing it so good w/ the foot pedals at the end!!

Awesomeness.
Don’t know why but Smile’s bass lines are very interesting.
Unique
Deceptive simplicity.
According to the liner notes on Wikipedia, Jonny wrote the baseline for The Opposite
The bass line in The Smoke is so groovy.

Jonny must have to get a new bow every show. That thing's just shredded by the bass strings.
Those things are not cheap either
