If you do not have all the materials to make all 5 Dee-Dees and you are on console, use this duplication glitch. ua-cam.com/video/K82RvmKW67g/v-deo.html
One tip I've not seen mentioned anywhere else for those looking to jump-start their game: When doing the movement tutorial on Spring 1 Year 1 at the beginning of the game where you're supposed to follow Presley you can deviate from the path slightly and can manage to Kick two of the trees on either side of the path in the Harbor area. This allows you to get some Rubber Fruits, a level up, and some additional experience for "free" since the scene following this forces the player to sleep for the day officially starting the game on Spring 2. I usually spend this first point on Axe Mastery to reduce the stamina cost of chopping trees and help get that extra 36 wood to repair the house on the first full playable day.
I wasn't aware of the DeeDee Transport tip but I ended up being able to craft them fast enough that I did all 5 and Higgins didn't steel them. Also I love how you said "Now run over to his furnace and steel his stuff" lol I died
I played a lot of hours before I realized I could do that. Lol What's funny is the next day, he accused me of stealing his axe, and my mental self was like, "Ah no, it was a copper bar..." good thing my character is smarter than me and she didn't admit that. Lol 🤣
@@SimGamesCorner I remember the first time I realized you could steal from him I grabbed the bronze bar and turned around to go home and he was right there! He didn’t say anything though lol it was a close one
Keep talking to people you pass by and hit the chat option or you won't get the +1 relationship. Some of them gives you hints on recipies and some tell you about gifts they want. My first month I merely talked to emily and a few others, but all the bonuses you get from improving relationships is really worth keeping up with the inhabitants. Dried apple slice is a cheap passive way to get more stamina, you just need a point or two in "double kick/gather chance" and kick the apple trees outside the wall until you can get a large planter with apple tree. You'll get aroma apples and apples from the treefarm when you unlock it too. With 3 drying racks going constantly I never had any stamina problems for a whole 2 months at 60% game speed.
Just finished my 1st year! I stumble upon your video when I was thinking of getting the game and looking for review. Stealing Higgins' metal bars was one of the tips that distinctIy remembered LOL also the slowing down the time tip, found out many still don't know about it! Thank you very much!
Omg thank you so much for the tips. The one that helped me the most is the game speed. I haven’t gotten to the point where I can get a horse yet and so running around takes a long time to do everything I need to do in a day so slowing down the game speed helps a ton. Idk why I didn’t notice I could change that. I totally went into my settings at one point and I must have overlooked it lol.
If you get stuff fight Russo in the tournament when it's his turn keep talking to him and backing out waiting 1 second and then going back in you make make it where he doesnt ever enter the match so he gets disqualified and you can fight the other guy instead (Russo is level 50) I'm on ps4
If Higgins sees you take his bars from his furnace, you'll have to fight him lol. I've been playing for 3 days now yet I already know these stuff. Nice video anyways!
For me, he attacked me the day after I stole a bar because I was too close to his workshop and then he accused me of stealing an axe. I was so confused at first. 😄
i was surprised i still got all 5 deedee transporter commissions on a Wednesday! I dont know if me going inside the guild before Higgins on that same day was the reason.
duplication glitch helps in a pinch too, it's month 2 of year 1 in my newest playthrough and i'm already at about 7600 or so rep. points a whole 1000 ahead of higgins. cause duplication glitch let me have the materials to turn in for big projects like the bridge and southblock all at once b4 higgins even got to them.
@@SimGamesCorner ....every time I see him in town and run by him I say IRL "fuck you higgins!!!" at least until the eventual breakdown moment where he explains why he's so hostile towards us and that he's jealous and apologizes and lets us give him a comforting hug lol.
Ok, the auto sort is the one thing I didn't know 😂. I was using it to sort things already in the chests LOL!!! Duplication Glitch: I did notice that if you try to place items you have duplicated into a chest with the same item you duplicated (or if you place the duplicated items together in the same row) the number of those items goes back down (quite a bit actually!) So maybe me doing it manually isn't a bad idea.
I am in the year number nine dont ask, but when I started playing i didnt made my work i just ran through portia and wanted to expect the landscape and i didnt even know how to run faster or had a horse hahahhahaah
I just recently started playing Portia. When you mentioned Ginger and the horse ride, I was confused, thought about it, made a realization, and now I'm sad :(
I had no idea about the Deedee achievement. Looks like it's about time for another restart... Oh well. Incidentally, my own bit of advice: if you're romancing Phyllis, watch out for a quest where she asks you to set up a just-for-two hot pot. You'll need a modest set of ingredients, but one of them is kind of rare: red mushrooms. (Not lion's-mane, the other kind.) You can't pick them up at a store, there are only a bare handful of places where they spawn - mostly in and near the tree farm - and only a few (2-4) spawn each day. Unfortunately, you'll need a fair number of them for the hot pot, so make sure you keep a stockpile of a dozen or so and don't use them in regular cooking.
@@SimGamesCorner so!!! The dee dee transport one helped me realize I could plan ahead of missions and new areas being unlocked by storing dee dee stops and transports beforehand, haha. I'm a level 45-ish and something that really helped me as well was to always have metal bars, wood planks or any materials usually asked in quests or in the handbook, this way I was traveling to chests less, and sorting them for way less time. My inventory looked horrible, but playing felt better haha. I didn't know about the martinal arts tip as well! Mine is super buggy and I think this exact issue happened before.
@@Anebarone Yeah, the martial arts tournament is a major problem for most console players, and the only way I find the solution was through a comment on Reddit. That was the biggest reason why I made the video because this solution wasn't well known. As for the DeeDee transports, I had to do a second playthrough to get that achievement.
I'm on console and I planted a seed from the mystery man in a large planter. I then moved the planter and a corner was on irrigation flooring, and my seed disappeared. Is this a bug??
All those tips and tricks videos are nice and all, but I think this game is overall better enjoyed playing by yourself, making mistakes and all. After all, it's more of a simulation crafting and farming. With all the atmosphere, the characters, and everything surrounding the player, it feels natural and immersive to make mistakes. :) For example I forgot to go check on Emily's watermelon and at the end of the day she wasn't there haha.
I forgot the watermelon quest too during my first playthrough. Some of the things in this video though are glitches that affect the console players like the martial arts glitch which right now there is only one way to actually be in the Tournament and I only have ever seen the solution on reddit in a post. I wanted to pass my knowledge along to other players. Now Steam is up to date and steam players can actually play the game, make mistakes and learn as they go which is quite nice.
@@SimGamesCorner Yeah sorry, I was a little selfish there, didn't think about the game on console haha. Either way, thank you for sharing this video, I will check back on it I suppose after finishing my first year! :D

It's been awhile since I played but I believe as long as you don't put those items into any of your chests, it should not put those items in a chest when auto-sorting
You should be able to steal from Higgins right off the bat, slow down time in the beginning, and be able to make storage units in the very beginning as well. Yep, saw another tip on slowing down time and did that from the get-go. I have made two storage units. Don't fully understand the sorting thing yet. Does it sort all of your store units at once? I am playing on a Switch.
@@MarcBridie It takes items that are in your inventory and stacks in the storage unit as along as there is that item already in the chest. So if you have wood in your inventory and wood in a chest, sorting will automatically take your wood and put it in that chest.
