@@XV-or8zz, no sabes lo que dices. Frankie Martínez puede ser muy bueno en coreografías de solos, pero es pésimo, malísimo bailando en pareja. Apenas sostiene una evolución de cinco segundos, de ahí se suelta y se comporta apático: decepcionante. De verdad, no tienes idea de lo que escribes.

I love this video because this is a true representation of what really happens when you take a woman out on the floor, as an advanced lead, and lead her through techniques that are unfamiliar, she'll lose her timing in a heartbeat, then get nervous for what's to come, thereby flushing connection straight the fuck down the toilet. You may have amazing material, but the average follower will generally showcase what you see here. So for all the leads learning their 538 turns, and 790 hand tosses and locks, just remember you're probably only going to be able to showcase advanced material with advanced dancers and advanced followers are DEFINITELY not plentiful. Salsa dancers know this. Even an expert like Terry couldn't make this dance truly look elegant because he was still too advanced in his material here. It simply didn't translate seamlessly, timed, and with proper tempo. Terry would've known better, but he had to pull SOMETHING out for the camera. Excellent salsa dancers test the waters and level out their technique based on there follower's comfort level. Once you've targeted her comfort level, even sticking to 3 or 4 turns will look amazing with a focus on connection. Too few moves you say? No problem, just switch up the grips. How many different looks can you get out of a simplistic crossbody inside roll? Plenty! And that's just one fundamental turn with a plethora of grips and different body positions!

Well put , i think this dance is magical .Terry has a way of putting across his own style on every dance and partner . Today its Hip Hop Locking and it fits with the space available the follower and the music . She feels confident and happy even though she has never seen some of his leads before . We all miss leads , moves , its part of the dance but they come out both laughing , its not a power struggle here . When the General smiles hes enjoyed the dance .
Certain dances i can watch over and over again this is one of them ...also take a look @ 1.15 thats musicality .
I might agree with most of your comments, are you grasping that level? Sometimes I do even with a non advanced follow... that's why I keep on dancing. Anyway, sadly, that happens seldomly.

Good musicality and they definitely know the sonh...but musicality in general helps you pick out the breaks in every salsa song.
He suggest it in every workshop... listen to music..everyday. It will help you in the dance floor

De hecho creo bailó en 1 y en 2 jejeje. La mayoría es en 2, pero en uno que otro open break definitivamente los hizo en 1
Baila casi siempre en 1 pero aparentemente parece que esta en 2. Algunas veces con los golpes se mete en 2, hace el cambio pero pasa de nuevo al uno con un traspiés muy característico que tiene.
Lástima que no hubo una mejor compañera. Esto demuestra que vivir del 123, 567 siempre agarrará mal parado a cualquiera.
El bailarín se va equiparar según su compañera. No puede dejarla mal vista. A la que tiene que mostrar es a ella.

Sure Terry is a good dancer, but not so exceptionnal with partner. He is very exceptionnal in solo dance.
With partner he is far less impressive than Nery Garcia.
The reason is the mobility , Terry basically walk whereas Nery Garcia is far more smooth and vary distance and rythm with his partner
