That’s not true, most men do not date/court based on a woman’s financial income. That’s been that way since the beginning of time. If a woman is a quote on quote baddie, she can be a cashier working at McDonald’s, or a bus driver. Trust me, most men don’t care of how much money a woman can bring to the table, to them it’s about the physical.

The Eboni K. Williams situation really irritated me! Black men will tell us, "stop being masculine," "I want a traditional woman," "pick better men." Yet, we get bashed for having high standards. The community will preach about how black women need to rest in their femininity. How are we supposed to do that when we are told to pick the bare minimun?!? If black women are the ones with the degrees and good paying jobs, then we are the providers. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Unpopular Opinion: Black people need to stop using our past as an excuse not to go out and get it. I know what we've been through as a race is tough but, don't use that as a reason to be lazy and do nothing with your life. Everyday, when I walk up and down my school's hallways, it pains me to see black kids just taking the resources they have for a joke. Black people in history worked hard so we could even be in the same classrooms, getting the pinnacle of education with white people and to see black people waste is low-key hurts my soul, knowing that many black people from back than would have loved to have the opportunities we have today. Instead, we are the only race that chooses to tear each other down when it comes to education. Everytime I tell a black person I want to go to college, they look at me funny, like I've betrayed them or something.
For example, I've always wanted to go to an Ivy League college (and I have the gpa to do it) and me, my mother, and my uncle were talking on the phone about my education and, I kid you not, the minute I said I wanted to go to an IL, they immediately starting making the most snarky and disparaging comments towards me. They were trying to despair me from going to college altogether by saying things like "black people don't usually get into those schools" and "the only way black people can succeed is starting a business instead of going to school" (these are real things they said to me btw🤦🏾‍♀️). Later on that same day, I got something in the mail from an IL school saying they wanted me to show up to one of their summer programs because of my outstanding academics and they wanted me to represent the state. It was like I didn't even have to say "stfu", God said it for me.
My mom later admitted that she was being very selfish and apologized to me (this was the first time my mom had ever apologized to me) and my uncle explained that he was jealous of my mom because she wasn't the most level-headed person but ended up with the most level-headed, hard-working kids and he, who constantly tried to shove it into the heads of his 7 kids to make something of themselves and create generational wealth, ended up with kids that would rather have children out of wedlock before they were financially stable. He also apologized to me for his selfishness.
The point I'm trying to make here is black folk, lets do better, not worst. I know college isn't everyone's goal but let's not shame those who want to pursue higher education.

No one in my family supported my pursuit of my education. I'm supposed to just get married. But I am an SLP now, and they get it. I am stable, still got married to a good man I found at school, and my kids have a nice yard to play in, swim lessons, fresh fruit every day, a peaceful loving home and all the things I desired as a child. I am more than a "girl". In the hallways, I witness the mental slavery you touch on in the schools. College is so expensive, many don't see it as an option. They don't know you can go for free if you work hard. Go to that school, get as many scholarships and free money as you can. Prosper and then...reach back ❤

I do think Ice benefits from pretty privilege, however, I think just like with Saweetie when she was first poppin - her personality is actually likeable. Her interviews are great. Yes, she is pretty but she has a down-to-earth appeal to her as well. No surgeries, she has a more accessible feel to her. And I think that’s why people gravitate towards her too. Especially young people. Latto is the same age range as Ice but Latto doesn’t even LOOK like a regular girl with that body and heavy makeup. Ice comes off her age

Some ppl claim they’re protecting their hair by wearing type 1 (non afro textured) wigs 365 days a year. Claiming wigs are easier when you have to cut, blend, conceal, glue etc. At that point, you have to be honest with how you feel about yourself in natural hair vs non Afro wigs. Nothing wrong with wigs per se, but it’s how (and why) it’s done and the specific textures ppl feel beautiful in

26:35 Big + for the college opinion, you said everything. I've been saying to some people and they don't understand that studying is about knowledge and that knowledge can give you so many opportunities ( not just money). Having a degree with no job is better than not having it with no job.
I'm in college and I'll grad next year but most of my classmates always downplay their studies they say it's not going to give them money and job (like yeah obviously if you want money just start an OF 🙄)
I feel like I'm one of the few students who are passionate about college (I'm in 3rd year of Accountancy and Administration❤) I want a PHD and will not give up my dream. And the worst is that they don't even try hard in their studies. Studying can open your mind, make you more knowledgeable and plus, you'll get to know many type of people, it makes you grow as a person.

I do believe people can come back from colorism. If they genuinely learn and work on changing why they are colorist. Some, and honestly probably most, don’t necessarily mean to. In the sense of it being brainwashed/conditioned from childhood (subconsciously) due to society/tv/parents/upbringing overall.
Believe it or not, I am dark skin and I was colorist. I was ridiculed by my light skinned brothers when we were kids about my skin color. That’s where it started and it continued from other things. Sooo I thought I was ugly (which I look back at my pics and I was a pretty ass lil girl shall I say😏😌). I thought all dark skins where dirty and mean. I had to realize it’s colorism and self-hate. So I actively ig forced myself (for lack of better word) to change that.
Mind you I’m also bisexual and wasn’t attracted to dark skin girls. I couldn’t believe I thought how I did. I would even acknowledge pretty ones but still didn’t want to date one.

I’ll say this abt Soulja Boy he still has some bops that go viral on TikTok every now and then (idek they were him lol) so he still has that talent to make timeless bops and he’s even produced some big artists songs but he’s burned too many bridges bc he won’t stfu and is unstable. He truly holds his self back from being an actual icon

If Chioma is a hater for sharing her opinion of an artist music wouldn’t that make the girl who commented “yikes” a hater as well? Lol Social media has obliterated open dialogue

I found nothing wrong with what Eboni K Williams said she stated her preference but BM are Full of SHYT we have to accept their preference but when BW have one we are wrong. FUK BM, and DJ Envy who got in their feelings. Kudos to Eboni K Williams for not dating down and settling for a man that is not on your level.

I don't think a lot of people have a problem with Eboni's preference but she went in on black men in the working class based on generalized statistics. She's in entertainment now and not among the average people. It seemed to have reignited the gender war all over UA-cam. I try my best to stay away from that content because I love black women. I have a full black wife and daughter. I don't expect Eboni to date a bus driver but just let others live. Great commentary.
