I have another Zenith TV with round display need to restore it , it is tabletop model , if you’ll need it you can reserve it when it’s finish restoration. Also very beautiful model and nice restored Stromberg-Carlson 10” with round CRT , you can see that video in my channel and it’s still available
You did an *excellent* job! It is probably working *better* than new, as those old waxpaper capacitors and bumblebees were never really that good. This is *definitely* a high-end console from the early postwar period.
Like brand new. A lot of vintage TVs are at the bottom of land fills. The 1970s and below they didn't recycle at city dumps. They bulldozed everything underground. Depending how dry the soil is there's probably still some covered up by earth still in mint condition.
For anyone who's old enough, seeing the now-forgotten speckled "snow" on a TV screen when changing channels and hearing the static is very evocative of the past - and it no longer exists on TV today.

From the era when TV was considered magical and a social event. Very classy and elegant.
That's stunning, amazing tech for 1951.
The quality goes in, before the name goes on. Magnificent.
I dream of owning a Zenith porthole tv as beautiful as this one day.I look nightly for one for sale near me for the last 4 years with no luck.
Where are you located? I found one in SoCal
The quality goes in before the name goes on. I have an old Dumont and it still receives shows from the 1940's.
have to seen something more beautiful than tube appliances also zenith is a mark of quality very beautiful
Very nice piece. I love the old round tubes.
Porthole is such a suiting name.
Great restauration.

More like a Pothole TV than portable.
Первый раз такое вижу. Я думал,что все начиналось с механического тлв.Великолено!Огромное Вам спасибо.

These dumps will eventually become archaeological sites. There's probably landfills from centuries ago that remain undiscovered.
it's incredibly Beautiful !!!
Zenith sure had some whacky ideas
I never knew such a set existed.
Very rear set with vaulb.
I am loving it 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you !

Раньше, до того как пластмассовый мир победил, делали такие вещи. Они стоили дорого, но и служили долго.
Этот вот - 1951 года.

I always can't help but think the original owner are long sense gone. Even though it had to be repaired it's still around.
I expected to see back in time TV translations )
Unbelievable!!!
Wow what a masterpiece. You are extremely lucky to have this piece of history is it for sale?:)
Thank you ! Unfortunately it’s sold already
Why would you sell this????! You can not put a price on something like this.
@@vintageradioman it’s already sold
A jewel
I found someone selling this model but not in working condition. As such, how much should I be willing to pay if I don't intend to get it working?
How much does this weigh? I'm afraid I won't be able to lift it.
Can i use this video in my movie?
I had a chance to buy one of these in a blond finish at a yard sale fir $10, had to pass. No way to get home
And what happen to that set now ?
@@retromania-NY Unfortunately don't know this was in the late 1990s and in York, PA
Isn’t the TV here radioactive?
1:1 aspect ratio screen- height = width ;)
I have an identical set. It makes some sound but needs to be restored. If anybody is interested contact me. Im in texas.
