Yeah my first Power Ranger series was samurai. You know, out of every villain every generation of Power Rangers had, Mesogog's gotta be my favorite. He's actually scary, he's unique compared to the other villains, and he's surprisingly original in his evil plan. Even Tommy admits it.
Same here, I think mesogog is one of the coolest power ranger villains, darker, more serious, and possesses amazing power. I would love to see mesogog fight lord zed, I know it would be silly since lord zed isn't as serious as mesogog, but I think it would still be an amazing villain battle.
judeskater93 I agree 100%! Those are easily my two favorite MMPR villains. I sometimes wish Lord Zedd would make cameos in current seasons just because. I'm sure David Axelrod would be down for it and the fans would love to see Zedd again. I know he was turned human but so was Rita and she got her magic back (in a way) so it's conceivable that Zedd could have been turned back to his old form by someone or the Z-Wave wore off or something.
I consider this series a perfect starting point for anyone who wants to get into Power Rangers. It covers the basics of Power Rangers but with good writing and enough creativity and badass action to be its own thing. It’s the first series I’ve finished and it was amazing.

Actually Jason David Frank didn't have ALL of his tattoos yet when Dino Thunder aired, he only had a flaming ying yang symbol on his left forearm and some Japanese symbols on the upper half of that arm, and the RSKA (Rising Sun Karate Academy) tattoo on his stomach, but that's it. JDF didn't start covering up his entire body with tattoos until over a decade ago around 2008 or 2009 ish.
7:01 Uh...I think the answer is pretty obvious. Zordon is dead, and Tommy is trying to create new Ranger powers similar to the ones he knows best. And obviously he succeeded in the end. And since he helped create the Tyrannodrones, I'd argue that he was trying to create an army of Ranger-like soldiers to protect the world. After all, he spent enough time working for Rita that he probably decided to apply the concept of Putties for good rather than evil.
Well at least someone who didn't have to be rich, likely had the intention to create an "Army of Rangers" to try and defend the world. Unlike some mentors who thought an army was incapable of protecting the earth. :S Here's lookin' at you Overdrive.
It’s worth noting that Mesogog is a pretty terrifying villain whose type we haven’t seen from Rangers ever. The dude is flat out creepy. Often when trying to intimidate captive enemies and subordinates, he’ll invade personal space and get real up close when talking. The neurological torment he inflicts on Elsa and Zeltrax is also quite similar to any other kind of torture you can expect from master roles. It doesn’t help that he’s commonly referred to as “master” and “lord”, similar to Lord Zedd. The different is that Zedd was seen as a more maniacal tyrant, whereas Mesogog parallels with a pervasive captor. Not to mention he also has that long dragged out dialogue and uneven rhythm. If there was ever a villain who would make someone shit themselves, it’s this man
I kinda wished Tommy stayed a mentor instead of becoming a ranger again. but at the same time this is the guy who round house kicked a T-rex. he needs to be a ranger.
Not just that even if he wasn’t a ranger before and somebody else was black, he would’ve taken over the white powers or something, writers just cannot leave him out of a suit when he was with us and on screen, rest in peace Jason David Frank
@@saphiriathebluedragonknight375 not really, could’ve used the sentai excuse for part of Mikoto’s anger that could’ve worked on Tomy, what if part of him had admittedly given up on life if he wasn’t a ranger, and so he instead of fighting the white Dino gem programming, he may have let it take over, as what he may have seen as a potential last ditch effort to be a ranger, in his own eyes, be worthwhile as a human again, would’ve been powerful stuff to see the Tommy we know fight through those feelings and teach kids that it’s ok to not always be alright, it’s more up to how much your willing to change, accept fault and responsibility, and try to set your mistakes right, and the latter most statement about mistakes set right is literally the theme of Tommy’s arc as the Tyrannodrones’ creator so this isn’t too far off the mark
Fun fact, in the Abaranger, the Sentai that Dino Thunder is based off Zeltrax is actually a suit of armor that at least 5 people have worn, including Tommy's counterpart, Elsa's Counterpart and very briefly Trent's counterpart.

I remember watching this for the first time, even after growing up watching reruns of Mighty Morphin, being caught completely by surprise that that was THE Tommy.

@@TheDragonman104 Yeah I understand, most people didn't know Power Rangers was still going on for years after MMPR ended because its popularity declined in 1995 during Season 3 which was shortly after the MMPR Movie came out. So those fans who knew Tommy from back then wouldn't recognize him as the Red Ranger from Zeo due to not having seen it wnen it was on, even if you already knew him from MMPR. Plus at that time, Tommy hadn't been on the show since Turbo and had long hair the last time he was seen, so him coming back with shorter hair was a shock for those older fans who had been used to seeing him with the long hair for years.
Funny thing about that Batman line is that Connor mcknight's actor his great grandfather was Alfred In the Adam West Batman show which I'm guessing Might have been a reference

I've never minded civilian powers personally. The Rangers almost never use these powers morphed, so it really doesn't cheapen anything, it adds to fights, since it better separates the unmorphed and morphed fights Plus, the idea about special effects being unimportant to unmorphed fights because those are about martial arts implies that the Ranger fights are purely special effects showcases, when in my opinion, the benefits of the Ranger fights are that the extra weapons allows for more complex and creative fight choreography.

My favorites too, in space was amazing beginning to end, dino thunder made an awesome choice using one of the original rangers as a mentor for new rangers, and jungle fury was super fun to watch and all the rangers had a ton of development
Tommy’s video diary is one of my favorite Power Rangers moments of all time. Several things that were skipped that should’ve been included by changing a few key words and moments of summary footage: 1. Aisha/Tanya: As Linkara points out, they went to lengths to mention most season’s sixth Rangers, some of whom were relatively minor in their seasons. Yet they made no mention of Tanya, who to this day is one of the best-remembered Rangers. She’s one of the classics and debuted at the end of MMPR. That’s not as untouchable as being one of the original five, but it’s still elite status in the fandom. Not mentioning Tanya’s replacement of Aisha reeks of Disney thinking “eh just another black girl no one’s gonna notice.” She’s the only one from the original era that they skipped. They even mentioned Justin. 2. Alien Rangers: This was an entire team of Rangers and mini-series. I think this is more relevant than having to explain the MMPR Zord/Ninjor stuff, which it could’ve replaced for time constraints. 3. Turbo Phantom Ranger. One of the sixth Rangers that was skipped. 4. The Death of Zordon. Unforgivable that they left this out. The biggest moment in the show’s history. They ended the Space segment with Zhane instead of acknowledging the epic finale of the true Mighty Morphin era, which is arguably still the best episode of all time. Plus, all of the former villains (including Rita and Zedd) becoming good! The Dino Thunder Rangers need to know about all of this. Come on, Dr. O. 5. Astronema: Failed to mention that Astronema is the red Ranger’s sister. She’s mentioned as if she’s a totally random villain. How silly. They could’ve acknowledged this by changing a couple of key words in the summary. That’s like failing to mention that Darth Vader turns out to be Luke’s father in a Star Wars summary. It’s not even really a spoiler, either. 6. Astronema the main villain becomes the Pink Power Ranger + the DEATH of the Pink Ranger: This is way more important than most of the sixth Rangers that were crammed into the summary. It’s not as big of a sin as ignoring Tanya, but still a huge moment in the show’s history. They even acknowledged this in the 20 Year Anniversary Mega Force legendary battle. 7. Lost Galaxy Magna Defender: Another sixth Ranger that was skipped. Mike is the only sixth Ranger who was a main character from episode one. So it's awkward that they didn't acknowledge him. The whole premise of the Lost Galaxy clip is when Leo inherits the Red Ranger powers from his brother, Mike. Not only that, he's one of the commanders of Terra Venture. Yet they just completely erased him from the summary. Sigh. 8. Forever Red. Would’ve been cool if they acknowledged two seconds of another one of the greatest moments in Power Ranger history. Also would’ve been a more grand way of wrapping up the ‘Wild Force’ segment.
also 3 years later and i still agree: the stones they grabbed gave them the DNA of those dinosaurs. the fact that it's more of a slight boost without the suits gives them an advantage when they can't morph yet or it's not as serious. that and budget wise it's better than splicing in them in suits and possibly ending up using reused shots. Linkara might be smart sometimes but this one moment i had to doubt his judgement.
On civilian powers: In Ninja Storm, they kept the powers in morphed form. It made the civilian powers seem more like a part of the powers in general. The weirdest thing about civilian powers is that they lose them when morphed for no obvious reason. Yeah, some powers are redundant in morphed form but some seem like they’d be useful. The Ninja Powers gave the creators a lot of freedom in the fight scenes, and you can see they clearly enjoyed it.
I think the civilian powers are fine because I see it as even with those abilities morphing not only gives them armor but makes them at least 10 times stronger.
I personally disagree on the Civilan powers thing. You yourself mention that the Dino Rangers aren't interested in Martial Arts or training, thus the Civilan powers are there to make up for it, otherwise they'd get their asses kicked.
@@Marvlouso And the powers here are inspired by the respective Dinosaurs. The Tyranosaurs was know for being pretty damn fast inspite of it's size, The Triceratops's most well known trait is it's rock like skin and the Petradon's scream is pretty much because of the whole bird theme.
...is it wrong if part of me wants to see Lord Zedd being the role of mentor for a Power Ranger team? He IS reformed and it would be interesting to see a former villain helping the next age of heroes.

I think it’s better that Tommy got the black ranger powers in ep 5. Thanks to that whole deal that let him go back and see his family getting him into his new suit quickly means we got to see him in it for pretty much the whole show.
Honestly that does give me an interesting idea Maybe the legacy of power can just be a PR 500th episode clip show then the next episode can be the rangers saving Tommy with the episode titled "back in black"
It was absolutely limited by the Sentai footage. Abaranger had Asuka suiting up a few episodes in, and then there's footage with him and the other three vs. AbareKiller.

Messagog is my favorite villain in power rangers ever. Because he has a great design and he has an intimidating voice and he has a motivation for wanting to conquer the earth. He believed in that dinosaurs were the superior race and wanted to bring the earth back to the era of the dinosaurs.
oh man, no mention of the goldenrod episode. zeltrax clones himself accidentally and the result is goldenrod who treats zeltrax like a father. zeltrax doesn't know how to feel about this but goes with it and in the end goldenrod defeats the red, yellow, and blue rangers but is destroyed by Tommy with goldenrod calling out for his father with his dying breath. zeltrax is visibly distraught even going as far as pained by the loss of goldenrod. it's a filler but it deepens zeltrax's character and gives more reason to his grudge against Tommy.
Really hope when Linkara does the updated, UA-cam-friendly version of this HOPR, he'll talk about it like when he talked about Tommy's family arc in the updated version in Zeo
The white ranger loosing and regaining to Steggo Zord, is actually a lot more complicated in the sentai. In the sentai the first time plays out pretty much the same, but the second time is different. In Abaranger the zords are properly sentient, regularly even having conversations with the rangers an each other (they speak like humans). The Stego Zord goes with Abarekiller willingly, cause it has stolkholm syndrome and thinks Abarekiller can make him stronger
I adore how Mercer is a good father overall, he doesn’t want his son to do things he feels are trivial but when chips were down and his kid could be hurt, Anton did not waste a damn minute and that is a good example of subtle storytelling, Anton might be a bit tough towards his son and sometimes rude, but he doesn’t have any misgivings about raising Trent, he loves his boy
I noticed that even when he was evil he never told Anton that "You're not me real dad". I think. There is one scene it could have been said, but it's hard to make out what they were saying. Anyway, Trent fully accepted Anton as his dad. Reminds me of my sister and I. Even though our biological father was in our lives we accepted our step-father quickly.

To be fair, I think they called it the DragoZord because they had trouble coming up with flying dinosaur names. Plus, both Tommy and Trent were evil for a while, and had dragon Zords.
You know, I never minded the stock music and the blotchy audio in Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder. I think it gave them their own vibe that was super different from past and future seasons.
So, the asteroids that Sledge had in Dino Charge are not only the ones responsible for the extinction of the Dinosaurs, but they also contain the Dino-Gems that created the Dino Thunder Rangers?
Tommy probably already knew he would become a Dino Thunder Ranger at some point so i doubt he would of even thought about the Zeo power, hell after creating new powers he probably even forgot about them until he eventually got a hold of the master morpher in the future.

Actually one of the best theories about Tommy's Zeo powers is that the Zeo sub crystals continued to grow in power just like the main crystal had, and eventually much like how Jason couldn't take the strain from the Gold Ranger power the other Rangers were starting to feel pretty heavy backlash from their respective sub crystals when they tried to morph. And it has been a few years since Forever Red so it's entirely possible.
I think this was actually the first Power rangers series I ever saw. Not gonna lie, I might be nostalgia blind, but I still like it Specially the theme song and megazord joining sequence

Well, the dragozord of this season is based on the tupuxuara dinosaur, so they probably wanted a name that is easier to pronounce, plus it's a nice reference to Tommy's time as the green ranger.

Also, maybe that is a reference to lord Drakkon from the PR comics or in this case the comics used that idea of Tommy creating soldiers with Dinosaurs Powers

I personally like the Dino thunder suits, it has a lot of nostalgia for me due to the fact that this was one of the first seasons I started watching on Netflix

I know there are some people on the internet, who don't understand why people like Mesagog, due to him not fighting the Rangers face-to-face like other villains? But you have to remember Mesagog's true identity plays a big part in that. Also, Rita never fought the Rangers face-to-face, and instead relied on her minions to do all the work.
For villians if your not going to have the villian fight the hero before the final act of a story then you need to make damn sure they come off as powerfull when it finally comes. They accomplished that pretty well in the final battle. Since it took them sacrificing their powers just to kill him.
This is still one of my Favorite seasons of the series. It did soooooooo many things right It had the Return of Tommy for one It made the only 3 rangers theme work well It had a BADASS White ranger, reminiscent of Tommy he starts off evil, and even gets his own white ranger sword resembling Saba. It also had a cool sub plot about Mesogog being the Father of Trent, and Tommy's old science partner (also including Smitty, even though it was kinda added last minute.) While at the same time is good as Trent's father, but is evil as Mesogog. Kinda like a multi personality thing. It may be a little unoriginal, but for Power Rangers, it had never been done! It had Cool as Zords. It had Simplistic streamlined designs for the costumes, while still lookin badass. It had their version of puddies, Tyranodrones, which actually looked menacing. Mesogog has minions, Elsa (yes Elsa) and Smitty (That's not his Villain name, but it's shorter so Imma use it), that aren't just comic relief for the show, but they actually have back stories and sub plots developing them. True Mesogog may not have been as threatening as some of the other villains of the power Rangers, but he was pretty well played. And yeah the Bulk and Skull of this season weren't anything special All and all this series ROCKED! ESPECIALLY THAT THEME!! Though it does piss me off that they only used the valkasaurus megazord once. IT WAS SO AWESOME!!
for me dino thunder was my first season but i still loved it a lot where in my openon is like tommy first green ranger first wihte ramger 2th red ranger (zeo) then part of red ranger of tirbo so it was nice to see tommy in black other then green/withe/red idk why but that shocked me when he was black ranger and i though he was going to be green where i did watch all the episodes to dino thunder so i know a bit about tommy and the green ranger to so i loved seeing tommy black
So the red one is speedy, the yellow one can fly, and the blue one is strong. I see how Beast Morphers decided what animals to give their heroes now haha

The nostalgia is strong with this one: This was the first power rangers show I watched. I vividly remember my first nightmare was me getting hunted down by the 2 main henchmen in my basement.
One thing I do hate is how PR had an opportunity to do a bunch of America exclusive rangers with everybody getting one morpher, in the sentai the morpher changed to reflect which dinosaur was talking
Jirou Lierge I warched this show without knowing about Tommy. In fact as a kid, when I first started watching this as it aired, I had no idea who tommy was. I watched it because it was power rangers. Even now as I'm older I find both the character of Tommy and Jason David frank himself kind of self centered and pretentious. So no we did not all give this show a chance just for Tommy.
I would have watched it because it's dinosaur themed. Those ones always make good seasons. Btw Zenix I don't think I've seen another actor so good with his fans.

He generally didn't try to meet anybody, he just moved them along and moved them along through pictures and barely any greetings, granted there were a few of us but he could of at least said hello to me instead of talking to his manager across the room. And I know the meet and greet was for him but he somehow always flipped the conversation back to him and "his new show on con-tv, my morphing life" plus who really has reality shows except self centered people?
Ahh Dino Thunder my favorite post Zordon era season; back when Tommy returning was a ratings boosting treat instead of an ego stroking gimmick that many older fans are tired of.
God I remember the clip show from this season and my reaction was like, *Who the hell are all these guys?! And Dr.O was a ranger before this?!!?!?!.* I was like 8 and the first season I ever saw of Power Rangers was Lightspeed Rescue. To me as a 'newer' fan it was a great episode it covered the old and glossed over the newer material. That episode made me go out and actual watch MMPR, and then Zeo and so on. And now after watching the 2017 Power Rangers movie and rediscovering that old story I only have one thing I can say... God I feel old now, AND I'M NOW EVEN 20 YET!
This show holds a special place in my heart: it was the first Power Rangers show I ever watched and Identified with. I distinctly remember that one of my first nightmares was of me getting chased down by Mesogog's generals. Good memories, good memories.

MMPR teens learned martial arts way before becoming power rangers.Connor can do some acrobatics using football moves , Ethan has no game and Kira can scream her problems away.The foot soldiers are way more effective and superior than your regular clay putties or dumb crows or even cogs , so they needed these powers or get killed before morphing

I consider this series a perfect starting point for anyone who wants to get into Power Rangers. It covers the basics of Power Rangers but with good writing and enough creativity and badass action to be its own thing. It’s the first series I’ve finished and it was amazing.

Actually Jason David Frank didn't have ALL of his tattoos yet when Dino Thunder aired, he only had a flaming ying yang symbol on his left forearm and some Japanese symbols on the upper half of that arm, and the RSKA (Rising Sun Karate Academy) tattoo on his stomach, but that's it. JDF didn't start covering up his entire body with tattoos until over a decade ago around 2008 or 2009 ish.

Uh...I think the answer is pretty obvious. Zordon is dead, and Tommy is trying to create new Ranger powers similar to the ones he knows best. And obviously he succeeded in the end. And since he helped create the Tyrannodrones, I'd argue that he was trying to create an army of Ranger-like soldiers to protect the world. After all, he spent enough time working for Rita that he probably decided to apply the concept of Putties for good rather than evil.
Well at least someone who didn't have to be rich, likely had the intention to create an "Army of Rangers" to try and defend the world. Unlike some mentors who thought an army was incapable of protecting the earth. :S

It’s worth noting that Mesogog is a pretty terrifying villain whose type we haven’t seen from Rangers ever. The dude is flat out creepy. Often when trying to intimidate captive enemies and subordinates, he’ll invade personal space and get real up close when talking. The neurological torment he inflicts on Elsa and Zeltrax is also quite similar to any other kind of torture you can expect from master roles. It doesn’t help that he’s commonly referred to as “master” and “lord”, similar to Lord Zedd. The different is that Zedd was seen as a more maniacal tyrant, whereas Mesogog parallels with a pervasive captor. Not to mention he also has that long dragged out dialogue and uneven rhythm. If there was ever a villain who would make someone shit themselves, it’s this man

So those fans who knew Tommy from back then wouldn't recognize him as the Red Ranger from Zeo due to not having seen it wnen it was on, even if you already knew him from MMPR. Plus at that time, Tommy hadn't been on the show since Turbo and had long hair the last time he was seen, so him coming back with shorter hair was a shock for those older fans who had been used to seeing him with the long hair for years.

I've never minded civilian powers personally. The Rangers almost never use these powers morphed, so it really doesn't cheapen anything, it adds to fights, since it better separates the unmorphed and morphed fights Plus, the idea about special effects being unimportant to unmorphed fights because those are about martial arts implies that the Ranger fights are purely special effects showcases, when in my opinion, the benefits of the Ranger fights are that the extra weapons allows for more complex and creative fight choreography.

My favorites too, in space was amazing beginning to end, dino thunder made an awesome choice using one of the original rangers as a mentor for new rangers, and jungle fury was super fun to watch and all the rangers had a ton of development
Tommy’s video diary is one of my favorite Power Rangers moments of all time. Several things that were skipped that should’ve been included by changing a few key words and moments of summary footage:
1. Aisha/Tanya: As Linkara points out, they went to lengths to mention most season’s sixth Rangers, some of whom were relatively minor in their seasons. Yet they made no mention of Tanya, who to this day is one of the best-remembered Rangers. She’s one of the classics and debuted at the end of MMPR. That’s not as untouchable as being one of the original five, but it’s still elite status in the fandom. Not mentioning Tanya’s replacement of Aisha reeks of Disney thinking “eh just another black girl no one’s gonna notice.” She’s the only one from the original era that they skipped. They even mentioned Justin.
2. Alien Rangers: This was an entire team of Rangers and mini-series. I think this is more relevant than having to explain the MMPR Zord/Ninjor stuff, which it could’ve replaced for time constraints.
3. Turbo Phantom Ranger. One of the sixth Rangers that was skipped.
4. The Death of Zordon. Unforgivable that they left this out. The biggest moment in the show’s history. They ended the Space segment with Zhane instead of acknowledging the epic finale of the true Mighty Morphin era, which is arguably still the best episode of all time. Plus, all of the former villains (including Rita and Zedd) becoming good! The Dino Thunder Rangers need to know about all of this. Come on, Dr. O.
5. Astronema: Failed to mention that Astronema is the red Ranger’s sister. She’s mentioned as if she’s a totally random villain. How silly. They could’ve acknowledged this by changing a couple of key words in the summary. That’s like failing to mention that Darth Vader turns out to be Luke’s father in a Star Wars summary. It’s not even really a spoiler, either.
6. Astronema the main villain becomes the Pink Power Ranger + the DEATH of the Pink Ranger: This is way more important than most of the sixth Rangers that were crammed into the summary. It’s not as big of a sin as ignoring Tanya, but still a huge moment in the show’s history. They even acknowledged this in the 20 Year Anniversary Mega Force legendary battle.
7. Lost Galaxy Magna Defender: Another sixth Ranger that was skipped. Mike is the only sixth Ranger who was a main character from episode one. So it's awkward that they didn't acknowledge him. The whole premise of the Lost Galaxy clip is when Leo inherits the Red Ranger powers from his brother, Mike. Not only that, he's one of the commanders of Terra Venture. Yet they just completely erased him from the summary. Sigh.
8. Forever Red. Would’ve been cool if they acknowledged two seconds of another one of the greatest moments in Power Ranger history. Also would’ve been a more grand way of wrapping up the ‘Wild Force’ segment.
The Zordon one miffed me the most when I rewatched this episode.

Best PR season in the Disney era. Loved seeing Tommy return. Back in Black as a Power Rangers and mentor.
I don't know, the "civilian powers" make some sense due to DNA from the Dino powers.
also 3 years later and i still agree: the stones they grabbed gave them the DNA of those dinosaurs. the fact that it's more of a slight boost without the suits gives them an advantage when they can't morph yet or it's not as serious. that and budget wise it's better than splicing in them in suits and possibly ending up using reused shots. Linkara might be smart sometimes but this one moment i had to doubt his judgement.
On civilian powers: In Ninja Storm, they kept the powers in morphed form. It made the civilian powers seem more like a part of the powers in general. The weirdest thing about civilian powers is that they lose them when morphed for no obvious reason. Yeah, some powers are redundant in morphed form but some seem like they’d be useful. The Ninja Powers gave the creators a lot of freedom in the fight scenes, and you can see they clearly enjoyed it.

I think the civilian powers are fine because I see it as even with those abilities morphing not only gives them armor but makes them at least 10 times stronger.

I personally disagree on the Civilan powers thing. You yourself mention that the Dino Rangers aren't interested in Martial Arts or training, thus the Civilan powers are there to make up for it, otherwise they'd get their asses kicked.

Messagog is my favorite villain in power rangers ever. Because he has a great design and he has an intimidating voice and he has a motivation for wanting to conquer the earth. He believed in that dinosaurs were the superior race and wanted to bring the earth back to the era of the dinosaurs.
oh man, no mention of the goldenrod episode. zeltrax clones himself accidentally and the result is goldenrod who treats zeltrax like a father. zeltrax doesn't know how to feel about this but goes with it and in the end goldenrod defeats the red, yellow, and blue rangers but is destroyed by Tommy with goldenrod calling out for his father with his dying breath. zeltrax is visibly distraught even going as far as pained by the loss of goldenrod. it's a filler but it deepens zeltrax's character and gives more reason to his grudge against Tommy.

The white ranger loosing and regaining to Steggo Zord, is actually a lot more complicated in the sentai.
In the sentai the first time plays out pretty much the same, but the second time is different.
In Abaranger the zords are properly sentient, regularly even having conversations with the rangers an each other (they speak like humans). The Stego Zord goes with Abarekiller willingly, cause it has stolkholm syndrome and thinks Abarekiller can make him stronger
I adore how Mercer is a good father overall, he doesn’t want his son to do things he feels are trivial but when chips were down and his kid could be hurt, Anton did not waste a damn minute and that is a good example of subtle storytelling, Anton might be a bit tough towards his son and sometimes rude, but he doesn’t have any misgivings about raising Trent, he loves his boy
I noticed that even when he was evil he never told Anton that "You're not me real dad". I think. There is one scene it could have been said, but it's hard to make out what they were saying. Anyway, Trent fully accepted Anton as his dad. Reminds me of my sister and I. Even though our biological father was in our lives we accepted our step-father quickly.

What I liked was Tommy using his old lock and Key Turbo Morpher
Actually one of the best theories about Tommy's Zeo powers is that the Zeo sub crystals continued to grow in power just like the main crystal had, and eventually much like how Jason couldn't take the strain from the Gold Ranger power the other Rangers were starting to feel pretty heavy backlash from their respective sub crystals when they tried to morph. And it has been a few years since Forever Red so it's entirely possible.

Well, the dragozord of this season is based on the tupuxuara dinosaur, so they probably wanted a name that is easier to pronounce, plus it's a nice reference to Tommy's time as the green ranger.

Also, Rita never fought the Rangers face-to-face, and instead relied on her minions to do all the work.
For villians if your not going to have the villian fight the hero before the final act of a story then you need to make damn sure they come off as powerfull when it finally comes. They accomplished that pretty well in the final battle. Since it took them sacrificing their powers just to kill him.
I personally like the "idiot lothor" line because it sets a proper continuity between ninja storm and Dino thunder
This is still one of my Favorite seasons of the series. It did soooooooo many things right
It had the Return of Tommy for one
It made the only 3 rangers theme work well
It had a BADASS White ranger, reminiscent of Tommy he starts off evil, and even gets his own white ranger sword resembling Saba.
It also had a cool sub plot about Mesogog being the Father of Trent, and Tommy's old science partner (also including Smitty, even though it was kinda added last minute.) While at the same time is good as Trent's father, but is evil as Mesogog. Kinda like a multi personality thing. It may be a little unoriginal, but for Power Rangers, it had never been done!
It had Cool as Zords.
It had Simplistic streamlined designs for the costumes, while still lookin badass.
It had their version of puddies, Tyranodrones, which actually looked menacing.
Mesogog has minions, Elsa (yes Elsa) and Smitty (That's not his Villain name, but it's shorter so Imma use it), that aren't just comic relief for the show, but they actually have back stories and sub plots developing them.
True Mesogog may not have been as threatening as some of the other villains of the power Rangers, but he was pretty well played.
And yeah the Bulk and Skull of this season weren't anything special
All and all this series ROCKED! ESPECIALLY THAT THEME!!
Though it does piss me off that they only used the valkasaurus megazord once.

for me dino thunder was my first season but i still loved it a lot where in my openon is like tommy first green ranger first wihte ramger 2th red ranger (zeo) then part of red ranger of tirbo so it was nice to see tommy in black other then green/withe/red idk why but that shocked me when he was black ranger and i though he was going to be green where i did watch all the episodes to dino thunder so i know a bit about tommy and the green ranger to so i loved seeing tommy black
So the red one is speedy, the yellow one can fly, and the blue one is strong. I see how Beast Morphers decided what animals to give their heroes now haha
how did i only just realize that that Zeltrax's costume was reused for Snide in Dino Charge, damn, i have been watching and rewatching Power Rangers for years now and i only just noticed that huh.

I know that the sentai has a thing for reusing its villains suits just like Power Rangers has a thing for reusing its actors for different roles like the SPD B teams support/comedic guy who is Mick in ninja steel

Speaking of the Dino thunder theme, I hope that the Dino fury theme has this level of awesomeness to it. Also, the Dino Charge thing was pretty good.
One thing I do hate is how PR had an opportunity to do a bunch of America exclusive rangers with everybody getting one morpher, in the sentai the morpher changed to reflect which dinosaur was talking

Jirou Lierge I warched this show without knowing about Tommy. In fact as a kid, when I first started watching this as it aired, I had no idea who tommy was. I watched it because it was power rangers. Even now as I'm older I find both the character of Tommy and Jason David frank himself kind of self centered and pretentious. So no we did not all give this show a chance just for Tommy.
I would have watched it because it's dinosaur themed. Those ones always make good seasons. Btw Zenix I don't think I've seen another actor so good with his fans.

KasaiWolf07 It's the impression I got from the meet and great with him at a convention. He generally didn't try to meet anybody, he just moved them along and moved them along through pictures and barely any greetings, granted there were a few of us but he could of at least said hello to me instead of talking to his manager across the room. And I know the meet and greet was for him but he somehow always flipped the conversation back to him and "his new show on con-tv, my morphing life" plus who really has reality shows except self centered people?
Ahh Dino Thunder my favorite post Zordon era season; back when Tommy returning was a ratings boosting treat instead of an ego stroking gimmick that many older fans are tired of.
Then: Tommy’s used his crystal to forge the Dino gems.
Now: Morphin Masters
God I remember the clip show from this season and my reaction was like,
*Who the hell are all these guys?! And Dr.O was a ranger before this?!!?!?!.*
I was like 8 and the first season I ever saw of Power Rangers was Lightspeed Rescue. To me as a 'newer' fan it was a great episode it covered the old and glossed over the newer material. That episode made me go out and actual watch MMPR, and then Zeo and so on.
And now after watching the 2017 Power Rangers movie and rediscovering that old story I only have one thing I can say...
God I feel old now, AND I'M NOW EVEN 20 YET!

This show holds a special place in my heart: it was the first Power Rangers show I ever watched and Identified with. I distinctly remember that one of my first nightmares was of me getting chased down by Mesogog's generals. Good memories, good memories.
Mesogog: Launch your aerial assault... The citizens of Reefside will think that idiot Lothor has returned to town.
Me: but wouldn't that attract the Ninja Storm rangers? Sure they don't have their powers anymore, but they can still fight.
Plus Cam can whip up some tech that can counter the attack considering they(The Rangers) dealt with this before.
He caught the Black Canary reference, but missed the Luke Cage and Flash references.

@Tom W : Connor Ethan And Kira are wasps while the MMPR teens where buffed a bit . MMPR teens learned martial arts way before becoming power rangers.Connor can do some acrobatics using football moves , Ethan has no game and Kira can scream her problems away.The foot soldiers are way more effective and superior than your regular clay putties or dumb crows or even cogs , so they needed these powers or get killed before morphing
I find it weird how Zeltrax's head piece was designed after his belt buckle.
Fun fact about the Dino Thunder theme is that it's the only theme in Power Rangers history to not have the word 'Go' uttered once
