Ricky is one of the few OG Huskies that made me a life long fan. His place in husky history will never be replaced and I am so glad you got him on the show. Thank you Ricky for setting this program up for decades of success 🙏

Legendary was the right word to describe his defense. I remember watching him single-handedly force a turnover at the basket against a 3-on-1 St. John’s fast break. Sometimes you’d swear he was reading his guy’s mind.

Ricky never got the credit he deserves as the leader of the our first championship team.
pple forget how clutch he was in that championship game and throughout the tournament. HE was the glue of that team. RIP and Khalid got all the accolades, but Ricky was the one that held that team together.
Ricky came off the bench in his freshmen yr and was a scoring machine - but FOR THE SAKE OF THE TEAM, he focused on defense and he became our best defender - probably ever. I think he played every role under Calhoun to give the team what they needed . the ULTIMATE TEAM PLAYER. Selfless. He went off on the final four and the championship game. you could see it in how aggressive he went off against duke- he wasn't gonna allow duke to defeat us. Ricky played with a chip on his shoulder - to prove to the world how great our team was, and to put UConn on the map, and played EVERY minute with heart, grit and determination.
how can anyone forget how Ricky locked down on Trajan Langdon on duke's final possession and forced him to travel, instead of putting up a winning shot? HOW DO YOU FORGET THAT???? we all clenched our fists and cheered with tears of Joy watching him bring our first chip to UConn.
    Bonefide UCONN LEGEND.
