Dead gate mechanisms with the barriers removed, one of the bells doesn't work and the other sounds like garbage, it keeps deactivating from a bad track detection system, one of the lights is hard to see, the signal is overgrown with a badly faded sign.... this crossing is just a mess. Someone put these poor signals out of their misery!
gate mechanisms being removed are oftenly seen here, its a typical Romanian solution to a problem: "it doesnt work? then lets get rid of it, problem solved". theres prolly no surprise this hasnt been maintained since.... forever, because its on a road leading out of a village to the middle of nowhere (or well, further to another village). whats more funny is that further down the road it crosses the A3 motorway and im willing to bet thats the only piece of this road thats been paved lmao.
@@CFRTrainSpotter i am i mostly intrested in romanian level crossing information since its kinda rare to find vids, but i watch videos of intersting level crossings from other nations, i just dont comment on them since i dont want information, i just wanna see them work
my guess is the electric equipment inside the "lockers" is very degraded, or within the crossing itself. cant think of any other explaination for the moment.
as it is the in-station type crossing it looks like the degraded relay that activates crossing when entry signal is given just repeatedly falls off and gets pulled up again because when train gets into stations track circuits it just starts working as intended they really should maintain those crossing systems better and lights too this one even has broken lens and the crossbuck could really use some new paint
idk. ive seen old level crossings still in good condition between Ploieşti and Mărăşeşti get replaced but not this. seriously. i believe they're part of the same regional division too
I tought this would be on the Buda-Slănic line, where most crossings are manual barriers. Either way, i remember seeing comments about how theres automatic level crossings with lights in the middle of bumfuck nowhere but on important roads or lines they barely have anything (sometimes ive even seen just a crossbuck only). It was an old comment from like 10 years ago but still applicable these days it seems. As for the state this is in, theres no need to comment. This might just be the bottom of the barrel for Romanian level crossings. The bells sound like someone hitting a pot of metal with a spoon/fork and the lights are actually cracked. Several crossings on this line have mechanical bells as ive seen one driving from Ghergița to Mizil.
Well, this crossing very old, but going stronger. At the begging it was flickering suddenly, but then started to work as it should and didn't do that thing anymore (1:45) until the train passed, even if visible it wasn't maintained for years as it's condition indicates. The left red light has the len cracked, crossbuck very faded and needs fresh paint, the vegetation has made the installation overgrown completely and needs to be cut. @SAjustusSA in Dumbrava (Prahova county) there are 2 more level crossings, in a bit better condition, like this one with old lights and one with M-bells on road 85 towards Zănoaga village and the other one on 101F with E-bells, with possible sirens.
Fun fact: The crossing on 101F had M-bells in the past, and the bells inside were exposed and you could see what was inside the bell box. There's two video with this crossing having M-bells. One while the crossing was activated and the other one when it wasn't activated.
@@vladutcotarlan2396 I'm not sure, but since this video was filmed in 2022 and since the railroad crossing on 101F is apparently close to this one, SN may have filmed it. There's apparently a video of the active crossing, it's called "Cum arata trecerea la nivel din Draganesti, unde un politist a murit pe 2 mai" But the crossing is actually located in Cornu de Jos.
@@CFRTrainSpotter But that's a lot less exciting, than the thought of people jumping on and off at speed (the train probably don't have working brakes either)
This crossing has seen better days, didn't it? The bell seems stolen from cows we saw in some commercials (maybe not but still 🐐), one of the red lights is dangerously dimmed or dangerously close to die (if it's not dead yet), the train detecting system has a mind of its own (turning on and off every 2 seconds making the level crossing flicker) and the nature wants to eat the signal. The only thing that seems to work is the white light that (flashes when the train detectors are not active¹ and) I didn't notice asap. Who I'm kidding... This level crossing needs some help ASAP! 30+ years WITHOUT maintenance or intervention (or intervention in the "it's broken, why don't you get rid of that?" way) equals an ugly (sadly it's ugly and it scared me in the thumbnail) and UNRELIABLE crossing! _Other explanation_ This crossing might want to sleep more so it's trying to rebel and try to get some sleep by not wanting to remain on 😴 ¹except in this case since train detection is that broken to make the crossing flicker between activated and not activated making the light appear every two seconds
@@adriancruceru9555 yeah later following this channel i discovered that they're common, but having an abanadoned one locally is cool! does it still work? can you record this one?
@@AlpheccaMeridianaThe train signal is on Strada Gârlești 42 Craiova, and/or at the Bordei train station. Nothing to see here, just some manual-operated gates and a single rusty signal without cross, bell, white light and gate. It has lights, but they don't flash. I saw an inscription on it: It was supposed to be a half gated signal and it was made in 1968. There was supposed to be another train signal, however idk why but the 2nd signal is missing. There's actually nothing to see in there. Also I think I'll post a video of it later.
most other western crossings are just plain boring with brand new computer systems and same equipment over and over again the old romanian ones have nice charm to them and there is barely any crossing content from there
some of these ones are indeed interesting, i agree, even if i hope to see some of them protected properly. the fact that most modern Romanian ones are so crap makes me like the older ones more. on a similar note, i asked Justus if he could visit Norway but sadly the list of old level crossings with mechanical bells is disappointingly low. im all for some variety.
It might be a little broken, but it does what it's supposed to do! That ivy really contributes to its beauty
This railroad crossing is old and the place is abandoned, so trains should not be here anymore
It's similar which I filmed in Čičarovce, Slovakia. But this crossing is pretty much old.
If i were to guess its not been fixed for 30+ years. Cant seem to explain it in any other way.
Yeah, it's similar, but it's railway crossing with dead gates system.
