- On October 1, 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a bill that designated May 15th as the day we as a nation observe federal, state, and local peace officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, has more than 21,000 names engraved of the valiant law enforcement officers who have sacrificed their lives for the citizens of our great nation.
#TeamHCSO remembers and honors all of these fallen heroes, including our 17 men and women killed while serving and protecting Hillsborough County.
