Graded Repertoire for Ukulele, Hawaiian: Volume 1 includes 60 solo arrangements of classic Hawaiian songs for re-entrant or High-G tuning ukulele. Many songs are mele pana or songs of place from areas around Hawaiʻi Island, Maui, Molokaʻi, Ōʻahu, and Kauaʻi. Other songs are mele hoʻoipoipo or love songs that use kaona or poetic references to love with the beauty and the forces of nature in the islands.
From songs of the Monarchy Era to the present day, there is something for everyone in this wonderful collection.
Every piece has been carefully arranged and includes both standard notation and TAB along with chord symbols above the staff so you can strum along. The introduction has a guide to the notation along with a brief lesson on right-hand strumming.
