It's Fine If You Don't Throw All Your Fizzbangs. It Might Even Be Optimal.

#splatoon3 #splatfest #fizzbangs
Remember, the game says we can HOLD more Fizzbangs, not THROW more Fizzbsngs
...which is still very confusing because you can't hold more fizzbangs. What actually changes is the number that you get from either respawning or getting splats.
But what's REALLY important is that "We can hold more Fizzbangs!"
I always throw the fizzbangs into the unreachable part of the enemy base at the end
Also a good option of you run out of ink in the last few seconds
These things felt like more of combo tool than a paint tool. Also worth mentioning, u can throw them on an empty ink tank, so they can be useful in that situation as well
I tend to use a lot of sub weapons since I use a point sensor or the highlighter (I play on Spanish so idk their English name) and the fizzbang just helps me put like little Mines when enemies with close range weapons try to get too close or when in low on ink so I can keep the flow going as my tank refills
I ran hydra this splatfest, and it at least *felt* nice to toss out all my fizzbangs when I'd depleted my charge with three seconds left in the game.
Workable if you don't have enough ink, or, in a case where your main weapon has a long wind up like Dynamo or Painbrush. Ain't gonna finish that wind up before the time stops you and then you don't put down any ink at all, might as well Fizzbang.
Typically only throwing fizzbangs either as a distraction, trap, or if I can't reach the area with my main nor sub weapon. If I have to use fizzbangs instead of my main/sub/special during the last second of turf war, then I did not plan appropriately for the situation. They really don't do much aside from look pretty, which honestly... goals.
With loadouts without damaging secondaries they can be thrown to areas you can't really reach... Like the spawn of the other pair for Tricolor if they decide to NOT paint their spawn zone.
Its irrelevant if they painted their spawn or not lol (unless youve already painted over it).
I agree with the points that Gem makes in this video. Fizzbangs just aren't always a great option for painting. But this doesn't mean fizzbangs aren't completely without application. While it's not great for weapons like the splattershot, it does work well for weapons like an explosher or a blaster. In general, weapons with slower fire rates have an easy time combo-ing that damage to frequently one-shot opponents with their main weapon, making use of the delay to ensure they are in range at the right time. And since your fizzbangs go to the opponent that splats you, you're giving those opponents an advantage in fights if you die with them. So while it's fine to ignore your fizzbangs at the end of the round, where any kills will have very little relevance, you should be careful around enemies that manage to paint slower than fizzbangs, because they might exploit your earnings. In any fight where you might lose your fizzbangs (not counting the very end of the round), What I recommend is simply throwing the fizzbangs around when you're skirmishing since you won't want be hitting your opponent too much anyways.
Generally, there are a lot more effective ways of zoning and dealing chip damage, but like any situational weapon, they do have a couple uses. And while most people will gravitate to the support weapons that won't need to care too much about their fizzbangs, there are certainly a few weapons that will rely on your fizzbangs to minimize their disadvantages with painting (or to kill you harder, could go either way really). So it's better to leave those weapons to struggle with painting at the end of the round, rather than letting them use fizzbangs to catch up with the better painters.
Correction: It's not that your quantity of fizzbangs transfers to your opponent. You earn a set number of fizzbangs for respawning or splatting opponents:
1) 1 in the first minute,
2) 2 in the second minute, and
3) 3 in the final minute.
So if you splat someone after respawning in the first minute, you will have 2 fizzbangs, but if you do the same in the last minute, you will have 6 fizzbangs instead.
Also, at the 1:00 and 2:00 minute marks, the game will give you a free fizzbomb as well.
@@Junosensei that's some good info, I never realized that. Thank you for adding this.
That sounds like someone on the opposing team would say
Ah, but is not throwing it as fun as throwing it?
I think it is situational. Weapon. Position. Enemy ink coverage quantity and pattern. Etc.
Tbh I only ever throw like 2 fizzbangs a match at most. They just don't do anything meaningful.
literally forget i have fizzbangs until somebody else starts throwing them in the middle of the match because they too just remembered they had them, or the "We can hold more fizzbangs" message pops up.
I think the fizzbangs are good at pushing if you use a short range weapon since they force the enemy to move but dont consume ink so you can still shoot
That Ramen stage was great for tri color
What I typically do is in the last seconds of a match throw them if you’re out of ink or using a weapon that needs to charge up (i.e. charger/splatlings) for effective painting
as a dynamo main, i love throwing these at the end, as they are faster than a normal fling usually
with shooters you can shoot bullets in between throwing fizzbangs by holding zr and pressing a. additionally fizzbangs have a much larger range than short range shooters allowing you to access unpainted areas more easily
Also note that throwing a bunch of fizzbangs at once leaves you super vulnerable with how long it's going to take to access your weapon again.
But the fizzbangs are designed to be thrown at the end of the match so matches end in a huge festive fireworks show 🤓
This is why i treat Fizzbang as less of an offensive option or painting option, and more of a poking tool. Sure, it could help in cases where opponents get a bit too close for my S-Blast or i need to keep them back while i get some ink back, but in the end it really shines when it comes to keeping chargers and stringers from getting too comfy in any one spot, because my burst bombs and booyah bombs are really my better choice for last-second painting
Yeah, but... fizzbangs are free. You don't spend ink throwing them, therefore you don't need to stop to recover ink after painting. You can even use the time you're out of ink to throw them to recover some and then paint more.
Just throw your fizzbangs, Gem.
At the end of the match though, you don't need to. Ive found theyre best for actual combat and overwhelming opponents if a few people are throwing their fizzbangs simultaneously (and maybe a lethal bomb in there too to make it even more annoying to dodge). But for painting theyre pretty mediocre since they explode mostly in the air.
I think throwing fizzbangs might still be better than shooting a shooter, because the shooters ink will be done as soon as the match ends, the fizzbang goes off after a delay, so if a game is going to be won by < 1%, the fizzbang throwers ink will cover the shooter ink and be whats counted by Judd. - Though bombs are still better though if you have the ink to throw one, and if you're the last one alive nearby then there's less chance others are throwing bombs, and shooting is probably better
Holy crap I did NOT realize suction bombs paint that much
HODL. Diamond Hands.
Finally someone saying what i been thinking the whole time
I use fizzbangs for defense along with my main and sub. It causes a little extra confusion to the enemy which can give me a bit more time to decide where best to move. Also I unload them before the end of the match.
Personally, the best way to use Fizzbangs (for me at least because I use Tenta Brella) is as a Combo tool.
Tent’s one-shot can be inconsistent from a faraway distance. Throwing a Fizzbang and it getting even a little bit of chip damage on an enemy can help out a ton, and since I have my launched Canopy I can safely chuck away.
They’re nice to have for weapons that don’t have a threatening sub weapon. There’s only so much a Splash Wall or Point Sensor can do to make a backline move.
I mean I always throw them if I don't have any paint left.
The only time that I've actually felt like fizzbangs were doing something useful was one time when I was playing mini splatling on Manta Maria, I'd made my way to the enemy team's sniping area, and I threw down all 7 all at once to prevent a few players from chasing me down. They take a really long time to explode, but that at least makes them an effective "you can't swim directly at me" tool.
Honestly the only time i use fizzbangs is if im out of ink while fighting an enemy
The only time I throw fizzbangs at the end is if my team has pushed all the way to the opponents' base, and my aerospray doesnt have the range to cover more than we already have
Even then I usually end up just tossing a fully charged fizzy bomb
aerospray 💀

Throwing fizzbangs stalls how fast your ink tank runs out when using your main so if they're comparable you should be throwing them throughout the match. Having fizzbangs at the end of a match means you may have spent time draining and then refilling your ink tank instead of using them to paint.
We can't hold more fizzbangs 😔
As a stringer main, I never touch fizzbangs unless I am out of ink
As a vunder main, fizzbangs are really useful as a tool to give me some actual ranged pressure
Fizz bangs are fun
as both a dapple dualies and nautilus main, its nice to have somewhat of a sub weapon especially since they dont cost ink. dapples are super fun but the short range and no damage output other than main shots can get frustrating sometimes.
i do also like the other kit, torpedo + fizzbang is very fun to pressure opponents with
i feel like you didnt really take into account that in the end of a match, most of your surrounding easy-to-paint- area is already painted by you,
really depends, sometimes you manage to break into an area painted by the enemy at the end and should spend your time covering that up instead. That is a good thing to think about though.
So use it if the area around you is already painted.
I have noticed that, in some of your splatfest footage, you haven't been throwing them at all, even if you run out of ink in a fight.
I throw fizz bangs at people so I can get assists. That way it makes it look like I did all of the work when I get 2 actual kills.
(I will not stop stroking my ego).
counter argument : it’s fun :3
If they don't paint well, then how much damage could it doto combos?
What is team Save the World doing...
For what are fizzbangs even good
When's the video on the gross appropriation and misuse of the greek language by the playerbase?
honestly fizz bangs are just kind of useless , like don't get me wrong they're pretty fun it's nice to have like fireworks during the match but like they just don't paint enough and they don't deal enough damage, like if they painted twice the amount of range that they do now and dealt like 20% more damage they would be so much better and actually be kinda useful for most weapons and not just blasters
Every short-range weapon benefits from this (hi slosher user here). It adds, if nothing else, a ranged option to help pressure enemies that maybe can reach you that you can't reach.
I say just let us throw them faster and increase the range a bit. The current damage still seems to push people away from bombs you throw
🤓
I don’t really understand why Nintendo added fizzbangs to the game. They aren’t particularly good as bombs, they aren’t particularly good as painting tools. They don’t really *do* anything. So why add them?
To give weapons that can't paint as well a fighting chance during turf wars probably. Or at least more aof a fighting chance.
It's just fun
They add flavor and make the event more festive
Because they're OK as bombs, they're OK as painting tools, and they're neat and fun.
it gives splatfests a little extra mechanical flair than just "hey kids, ranked has been disabled for the weekend! Also this mode you hate is available now and it WILL determine the splatfest winner all on it's own!"
