- I explored an abandoned junkyard in Tampa, Florida, complete with snakes and alligators, to bring you HEMI cars, antique fire trucks, rows of classics and trailers full of old car parts. Plus, it's all for sale! Enjoy!

You're a good narrator (tour guide) and well worth a subscription. Amazing that the cars are still holding parts, I carry a shovel most of the time here in Texas. Just jab and divide.
I've decided I'll always carry a shovel on these adventures from now on. Thanks for watching!
Welcome to Tampa my friend. Where trailer park folks are part of the upper crust. Hey, get out my yard!! A shovel, I can dig it.
I've just recorded the 2nd video in the series. The land is zoned multi-use, so it is used as residential in the front and business in the back. Wait til you see what is in the barns!
Thank you for sharing, always looking to find info on old cars and stories too!
You're welcome! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome video! Subbed!
Hey try bringing a small battery operated weed wacker with you in those situations so you can get closer to some of the vehicles. It will be the perfect snake murderer, plus you'll gain points with the owner of the property doing a little path clearing for them at the same time 🤣
Ya know, that's brilliant! Thank you for watching!
I just like the ambiance of various locations, the surroundings, places revisited in visual and audio even if many miles away.
Rock on.
I think you're gonna like my other videos, too! I focus on the experience. Thanks for watching and commenting!
New subscriber here. I love abandoned junkyard videos!! I'm 55 and live in cold ass MN. Can't stand the cold anymore, but the creepy crawlers, snakes and alligators? That's too much! 😃
I'm trying to make as many videos as I can right now so you can watch over the cold months. I used to live up north, so I totally understand. Thanks for watching!
@@mohawkgarage I keep thinking fire ants are gonna crawl up your leg. That's a northern wimp for ya!
@@MNWILD43 When they got me, I couldn't get up for a while. They fired me up for almost 30 minutes before I could do anything. I had hundreds of bites. It was insane.
I really liked this walk threw a lot. I also like when I get some new knowledge from someone else thank you
Wow, I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Good tutorial on what to watch out for to be safe , up here in Canada we get super cold winters -37 and colder on the Celsius scale , i plan to retire soon from the oak barrel business and winter in Florida , I realize now thanks to your video to watch out for copperheads and fire ants , I like your narration as well , nice sounding voice , I just subscribed
Thank you so much for the kind words! I later learned that the area is known for water moccasins, not copperheads. I guess we both learned something! I hope your retirement comes asap and that you have many years of relaxation and happiness afterward. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!

When I was 16, 17 my buddy and I used to go to Butler Pennsylvania, and dream in all the junkyards. He had a 63 Nova he bought for $50. I still remember the smell in the old junkyards. What with the EPA and all I doubt our kids and grandkids will ever smell that manly smell!

Yeah, the t-birds definitely went a different direction. They are cool from a design standpoint, but the 55-57s are gorgeous! Thanks for coming along!

@@mohawkgarage Yeah I still live in the area. The RV looking thing I believe he told me was an old Carny motor home. Lots of show people here.
@@jeffdaniels958 I did a bit of research. The chassis was made by Stewart. The box and interior appear to be hand-built. Wooden furniture inside it looks to have been made just for the trailer. I bet it was sooooo cool when it was built!

At 411 South Main St. Wetumpka Al, 36092 the Wetumpka Fire department has repurposed an old fire engine to be a centerpiece in a flowerbed and even hooked up the lights to work at night. Not sure about the year. My dad says it's a 40's model.
The Dodge pickup is not a D100 (1/2 ton). the 8 lug full float rearend would be a 200 (3/4)or possibly 300 (one ton). Also, D is for two wheel drive but if its 4x4 (can't see in the video) that would be a W series. Thanks for the awesome video, the little yards like this are disappearing and at least you are saving them in a way we can all enjoy.
I appreciate the kind words and the vast knowledge of Dodge trucks! Thanks for watching!
Do you recall ever seeing a 67 Mercury Cougar in your travels? I had a neighbor that had a shared driveway with his next door neighbor. The one guy bought a first year Mustang convertible and the neighbor eventually bought a 67 Cougar convertible. In this case, the Trews were keeping up with the Meyers. Eventually, Mr. Meyers bought a gorgeous green 70 Pontiac Bonneville convertible with the biggest engine offered
I saw a 67-ish Cougar in a video by Vice Grip Garage yesterday. I think he called the video Behind The Scenes. That's the only one I've seen recently. Cool cars. Thanks for watching!
@@mohawkgarage They messed up the styling starting in 68. The taillights on the 67 bulged outward and starting in 68 they bulged inward. With the (problematic) hidden headlights I think there may have been a choice between pneumatic and hydraulic but don't hold your breath you are too young to have issues. Wait till your 61 like me! My first car was a 66 Pontiac Gran Prix with the 389. Got some speed but the brakes were useless. About 26 days after I bought it I used a wall and a tree to stop it (bad tires after a rain). I really didn't have it long enough to form an opinion. My mechanic and my neighbor both said they were temperamental when cold. They both were right. Now as far as those copperheads go, I wear some high cowboy boots> Living in cattle country I think there is something you can wear on the bottom of your pant legs. I couldn't get out this summer but I have a 61 year old German Walther P38 to make me (feel) safe!
@@markg2842 That 389 is legendary! Sorry yours got crashed. I think lots of them met their demise that way!

Man while in Tampa going south on 301 you'll come into riverview. On the south end of town there is a road called Rhodine Rd.if you turn left there and go about 3-4 miles on your left was an old junkyard called can -am auto salvage. Well ,, there was when I grew up about 4 miles on east from it. I wonder if it is still out there . They had great inventory
I'll check it out! Thank you so much for the info!
Well, I checked it out. I found the road it was on. I asked a man who lived in a house right off the road about it. He said it had been totally gone for about 10 years. I drove to the back, and it is totally gone. There's not a bumper, a pile or anything whatsoever. That's why I'm trying to document these places. They are disappearing every day.

Is that Oregonia, Oregon district? Ain’t that where they hold the last motorcycle event of the year, the Hill Climb’s? I’m from Middletown ( Butler Co.) so not far from Dayton. Looks like a Uncle of mine lives there, haha, he was a damn packrat, hoarder, seriously too! He’s been up in Rockford Illinois for the past 25-30 years now, he was originally from Middletown too, and everywhere he lived around there he packed in all kinds of sht. That Ward LaFrance firetruck may have had the big 12cyl. in it? Some of them had a 12 cylinder.
The fire truck is from the Oregon District in Dayton, Ohio. Bob, the man who started the junkyard over 50 years ago, brought several fire trucks from Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. Sadly, he passed away last year, so the only memories of how they were acquired are with his son now. Don remembers a huge amount of information about the various vehicles, but some of them arrived after he grew up and moved out. I believe the LaFrance is diesel-powered, but I can double check. Where at?? I have ppl in my fire groups who may wanna try and salvage some of those trucks or the parts on them. The Fed siren is worth money and they wanna try an restore it.
At the moment, the owner is unable to help customers. Can you check back with me in a couple of weeks? I'll let him know you are interested. Thanks for watching!
I'm sure that this is enough there to try an save. Like I said somebody is going to want that siren and its mount. That Chevy can be saved, the cab from maybe both LaFrances or at least the red one. That Ladder still might be able to be saved but if not there are parts on it that ppl who restoring another fire truck might be able to use. Both the siren and Mars Light on that Ladder can be restored. They are worth something.
I would ask that you not say anything about any value to any of that old equipment because he may think that he has a gold mine and may Jack the value up and the ppl who may wanna try an restore it won't pay a gold mine price and all of that good equipment will end like every thing else there and just rot away needlessly.

WTF? lead in shows an Australian Falcon coupe (1972 XA GT by the look of it) And you don't show it in your video? That aside @2:22 I'd love to see that resto mod/rat rodded! Then @8:13 is that a Powell Sport Pickup? if so def worth saving.
The follow-up video shows the complete cars. Sadly, many of the cars in the video are no longer there, as the property has been getting cleared out. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks.. never seen a Falcon Wagon ever… 🙏🏿
I remember seeing them as a kid, but it was cool to see two them together! Thanks for watching!
Favorite pass time walking through a car graveyard.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
I am from Calumet City, thanks for filming and posting this. I am also a car nut, I would love to get the passenger side door off that fire truck for the logo. Ya think that guy would sell it to me ?
I'm not exactly sure if he would sell the door separately. You can ask him! His contact information is in the video called Abandoned Junkyard Barn Finds. Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@mohawkgarage I have a picture of the truck when it was new if you like to see it. It's a 1950 ALFCO engine 302
@@coperacingtrans Absolutely! I will show it to Don (owns junkyard).
@@mohawkgarage I sent Don a e-mail asking about the door. I would bring the door back to Calumet city and donate it to the Historical society. I can send you the picture. But I need a email
@@coperacingtrans If you send a pic to Don at the junkyard, I'll see it. I see him at least once a week. Sounds awesome!
I learned how to shoot pool in Calumet City
in the 60s.
I've always liked it, but I'm a terrible player. lol
Have a great day!
Really unusual video well done I’m subscribing to your channel Eddie from the UK🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you so much, Eddie! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Love the video I’m in Florida to my I ask where that at
I'm stomped on what kind of vehicle your driving with the hood scoop I don't recognize....
It's a Hummer H2. I've been really enjoying these gas prices. lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
A couch in there is the wrong place to nap.
I know, that's the strangest part of the yard!!! lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Going out on a limb, and I don't have much to go on, but I believe the car at 24:52 is approximately 1980 vintage Chrysler Cordoba, Dodge Mirada or Plymouth RoadRunner. Interesting find, especially if it is the Cordoba LS. I've seen one with SUPER CMX on the lower front fender, not sure what this is supposed to signify.
My uncle bought a Dodge Magnum brand new in 1980. It broke several transmissions in a couple of years. Looked cool though! Clear headlight covers, white interior with dark blue paint... Thanks for watching!
@@mohawkgarage Sounds like your uncle's had the 904 trans, a 727 wouldn't have done that. I'm more a classic GM fan than Mopar, but still dig cool Mopars. Was always partial to the 83-84 Mirada myself, but the Cordoba was just as stylish at one point, virtually the same car. Would love to have either of those in that style. Of course, I'd probably do something dumb like drop a 440 or 426 Hemi in it and get my killing done.
@@anonymousinc6330 I've not had many Mopars, but I really liked my 1964 Fury with a 361 and a push button Torque Flite and my orange Power Wagon 4x4!
@@mohawkgarage I know a guy who rescued a 62 Dodge Polara with a 361 from a junkyard. Push button trans set up on that car as well. Very little of Chrysler's 60s-70s styling really appealed to me, but I can't deny they had some pretty damn strong engines to make up for it. I, for one, never understood why so many thought the 58 Fury/Savoy/Belvedere (it was all three LOL) in Christine was an ugly car, I thought it was very cool. Now THAT'S a car worthy of saving.
@@anonymousinc6330 The Virgil Exner years were borderline bizarre, but they stood apart from the crowd. They definitely thought outside the box!
16:26 I think that's off of a late 1970s Datsun. The Lemans on its side was about a 1970.
I think you're right! Thanks for watching!
71 or 72 LeMans
@@willybones3890 GM didn't change much on their cars from 1970 to 1972. I've always been a Corvette guy, and those 3 years are extremely similar. I guess the Pontiac lineup was the same way. Thanks for watching!
That's not a hook on the roof of that wagon
That's a bumper from another car😂
You're probably right! lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarage dude I'm just happy that you didn't rush through that place you took your time and you want around and you looked at everything that was super cool please make more like this
@@joethompson5673 Absolutely! I think of these videos as a snap shot in time. Many of the things in the video are already gone. It's sad, but the video is all we have now. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Was your Dad Dr Darrel Roberts, the pinstriper??
No, wrong guy. Sorry! Thanks for watching and commenting, though!
Fargo truck? and a Rambler Lark?
I'm not sure about the truck, but I agree, the other one is probably a Lark. Thanks for watching!
