      Styling is subjective, but the maverick is designed to optimize space, 3” more leg room and 2” more bed space.

    @truzak2117 2 роки тому

    I've got 900 miles on my SC. It has the turbo - which I love, and the dual clutch trans - which I don't.
    This is my first experience with a dual clutch, and as someone on the Santa Cruz Forum noted, it acts like a manual trans with an automatic clutch. Which means, when you put it in gear, it can roll backwards or forwards. It can and has even happened when starting from a stop, like at a traffic light, or trying to pull forward in drive-thru. And when it does happen, and you're not expecting it, can put you into panic mode. It also can be clunky/choppy when just starting to accelerate from a stop, especially when turning.
    Now there is an auto parking brake you can engage and keep on all the time. When on, the car will not move at all when removing your foot from the brake. Which means that it will not roll, but it also will not go until you actually hit the gas again. So it doesn't act like a traditional automatic trans where you remove your foot from the brake and the car creeps up.
    I really don't know the purpose of the dual clutch, but I do know it adds a level of complexity to driving and diminishes the driving experience.

      dct induces less drivetrain loss and can shift within 50ms, and is thus preferred among sports cars. However it relies on the program logic to predict the next gear, which causes jerkiness when it guesses wrong. Also it doesn't handle high torque and definitely not recommended for towing.

      I don't see Hyundai doing a longer bed. I could see Ford doing it eventually. They are marketing Maverick as a truck instead of a "lifestyle vehicle". How popular are stripped work trucks among truck buyers who do nothing but commute in theirs? The answer is, not popular at all. If a person's sole reason of buying a Maverick XL hybrid is the fuel economy, you can get a base model Prius for not much more and you'll get an extra 15mpg over the Maverick. The Maverick hybrid MPG ratings aren't far off from regular gas economy cars these days, most of whom are rated over 40mpg. The real benefit is city driving. I sometimes struggle with my 5ft short bed Tacoma because most things that are too long or awkward to put inside a vehicle are going to be longer than 5ft or wider than the width like a 65" TV, plywood, or a mattress. I look at this thing with the awkward curves that would make it too difficult to secure anything on top of the bed and the inside that is too short to fit anything and I said out loud - what the heck is the point of this thing? To live in a city and say I own a truck without having any of the pros or cons of actually having a truck?
