According to Josh words, he refused a lot of invitations from different companies to promote their game due to ethical reasons. I've been following Scars of honor for a year now and it gives me hope to see Josh here and his approval. Good move.
Wow, I was skeptical about this game and I saw that Josh Strife Hayes liked your game made me trust your game so much more. I'm definitely going to buy the Honored Account next time I get paid next month.
Glad to see this game progressing nicely. Last time I spoke with yall, it was a "group focused" game. Any changes or love for us SOLO players planned in the future?
Hey there well, I can only speak from what I read on the discord so far, with all the talks that happens rather randomly sometimes: They plan on finding a certain balance in most of the content. Obviously an MMO is called an MMO due to it's multiplayer and thus the Group-content you can build with that. But from what we have heard so far they definitely will try to also bring in Solo-Content. Logically only to a certain point, due to it still being an MMO, but I guess we will see in the future what they make of it. And then again, they communicate a LOT with their community, and I am sure that they would always be up to talk about such topics, and maybe Ideas coming from the community! Always good to drop onto their discord and talk with the people ;D
I've been following Scars of Honor for awhile, but I haven't been really in the mood to play an MMO. Josh is a great grab to help promote. I don't think I am ready for an MMO still, but we will see. His bump means a lot for me when it comes to picking games.
I think the most important mistake that some mmos make is not having replay-ability in the end game. This is a hard task but things like weekly raids, PvP ranking/rewards, mount farming, and reputation grinding can help extend the current patch to the next big expansion
I was already following this game, but if Josh endorses this game, suppose I'm just that much more excited for it! As for housing, I really like how New Worlds did it: houses are instanced when you go inside, but the highest rated house is shown off in the overworld.
Good insight. If the game is fun and immersive, ppl will play it. If you want to make a game that is good for PC, remove the mobile parts. Companies that have mobile do it for money. Everyone knows it and it is usually predatory. The MMO market has been starving for a decent MMO for years and there are more people online then ever.
It's a Double-Edged blade I would say, at least from what we have seen on the Market so far. But then again, it's always possible to come up with something new and maybe find the perfect kind of Mobile-Version for a PC-Game, especially if you have the PC-Version as Main-Focus and simply want to provide a certain something for Mobile to some extend. So yea, only time will tell on what/how it will end up as
how I would set up about player housing. is to take both and have both run at the same time. a instant player housing/apartments (be it just a lone house or a neighborhood you choice or maybe that an option the player can pick). do I want my instant house to be located next to other players homes in a small shared space. or do I want a cottage out in the woods (alone for myself). (all that instant and probably well its a money sink but if I dont log in for 2 weeks I still got my instant house/apartment). and then open world housing (thoes are really expensive money sinks almost requiring the player being in active guilds). if I dont log in for 3-4 weeks or so and pay the monthly rent I lose my house... well not lose it I lose the open world plot the house itself just gets moved to a instant plot of the same size.
I really hope, some day an MMO does more with the movement, adding skill to move faster, better and with more style. As Josh mentioned, it's probably the most prominent part of the game, that every player will interact with. Of the MMO's I know, GW2 does this the best, but still not fully satisfying. And when you've nailed the movement, then you can build the combat around the fun movement (integrate the movement into the combat). But guess that will take at least yet an other decade, because non of the MMOs currently in development, that I know off do this.
If you look at the movement systems in DC Universe Online, there's room for MMO movement to be more involved than it is in most games in the genre. And while this example isn't an MMO, Shinobi Strikers has a really cool movement system which I'd love to see adapted into an MMO space. Preferably with mechanics and map design which complement that movement system rather than crippling it like SS did, though...
Albion Online should provide some really great inspiration and advice. They have desktop and mobile. Crafting, instanced zones, tons of pvp, and Outland guild bases etc.
i feel like if u want to make a good mmorpg for pc then it becomes unplayable for mobile and if you try to down it a bit for it to work on moblie you kinda ruin the pc experience because then it becomes a bit too simple soo i feel like this janra cant be equally enjoyed on both platforms(my opinion) EDIT:10 seconds later in the video and they just talked about the exact same thing
I mean you could make it work if its stuff like you play it on the computer but you could for example. order your character to move through the phone. think of it like you log in do a quest you now need to travel across the world (15 min real time travel on the PC) but you need to do something else so you log out. you log in a bit later on the phone and order your character to travel that distance on the phone maybe do so AH inventory and other small gameplay loop stuff. (your character will travel but not as Maximum1325 but as [faction_]_traveler (that is more like a NPC that you have semi control over.
I wish more developers would listen to Josh. Can I use a gamepad? Can it be played on a steam deck and, android hand helds? I think Path of exile might be a good example for customisable class builds. There's alot of players that are concerned, with what is pay to win.
i am sorry to say but the game looks way to generic, it doesn't seem to bring anything unique to the table... its literally World of warcraft replacing the pandaren with bearen... it doesn't speak to me... it doesn't bring anything i want to experience... like give me new races, something i haven't played in any other MMO before... i am sick of humans, elves, dwarves, orcs.... give me NEW races to experience, new cultures... give your game some Identity....
I like too see all Anceint Mythology. Egyptian, Greek ,Norse, Celtic ,Mayan/Aztec , Chinese , Japanese , all in 1 MMORPG. I love High Sci Fi Fantasy , but it's been overly done , atleast Mythology hasn't been done before.
Hey there, Josh is one of the biggest voices of the MMORPG community, which is why we invited him to our office, and we are more than happy that he accepted the invitation. Receiving his feedback, fist hand, is something invaluable. He came as a consultant, and that is what he did while he was here, consulted us. He told us what he thinks about what he saw, and where we can improve. We are doing whatever we can to create a game, where everyone will have fun while playing, because of that we believe that these meetings with MMORPG voices like Josh, are going to help us achieve that.
Maybe lodging, transportation... what a good hosts do when they invite someone to their home-- unless Josh was out walking his dog, surprisingly having BBE as his neighbor and decided to shout from the fence "Hey, I have an opinion! Open up!"
Having Josh peeping the progress of the game ensures prominent development and I'm excited by the results after Josh's feedback 🎉
Definitely not the right one to listen to
According to Josh words, he refused a lot of invitations from different companies to promote their game due to ethical reasons. I've been following Scars of honor for a year now and it gives me hope to see Josh here and his approval. Good move.
He’s not promoting it btw.
theres atleast 1 cut in this video that im completely responsible for. me and queenie burst out laughing at something in the next room 😂
Hahah you are responsible for waaay more!
Shoulda kept it in

Must be trolling

Now this is serious.

I would say GW2 (especially mounts) and Warframe have the most fun movement I have seen in MMOs.
@@DraconasTenZHG DCUO had some fun movement options too, but yeah. I'd agree those 2 are on top.

The world is your character, you’re just the ants playing in them.

Wow
Make this epic game for mobile players too❤
Why not Game Consoles , PS , Xbox , Nintendo
Mobile users will only make raids harder for your group because I feel they won’t be as skilled as pc players
Version mobil??

make the game into a hardcore pvp.. dungeons is good, also group pve, group pvp,.. and one of the best thing is the character leveling up mechanic
Josh had lost all credibility. I wonder how much he was paid for this.
What do you believe I said which was not credible? I'm firmly of the opinion they still have a lot of work to do.
