- The creators of the hugely successful "It's a Southern Thing" Website and social videos like "So true, Y'all" and "Backporch Bickering" will speak at Carson-Newman University at 7pm on Sept. 13 and will hold a workshop on Sept. 15 at 11:30am at the Knoxvi
I love their series. All the fun and fondness without snark or meanness. They usually nail it in the best way. My husband is the best weatherman ever. When his knee aches, he predicts a "gullywasher" with 100% accuracy.
No snark? Let me put this thing under a microscope.
(I love snark, and I'm sure there was snark in some episodes… especially the unscripted (or less-scripted) ones like those where they try to pronounce town names)
The success of this channel is also about filling a need humor that is not raunchy or seeped in political vitriol is lacking in other venues but is needed to persevere the national sanity
that is so true.
So true, y'all. 😉 Really though, that's s great analysis. 👍🏻
I'm a northerner and love it's a southern thing.
I'm a southerner and… oh, wait. Ah, but I'm from the south of Germany! ;-)
Same here. I live in Washington but I watch It's A Southern Thing religiously.
Used to live in Birmingham, now back in Indiana. Love all their videos - so true, and so funny - especially from a "Northerner's" view after experiencing the Southern Thing. Miss it all!
Aussie here. Totally love the series. The handbag one is my fav but they are all awesome. I love the sweet humour of it. It’s such a refreshing change to most other humour which is often very crass.
I love the humor, period. Crass, non-crass, all the same to me. But then again, I'm European… we largely don't understand US mores.
@ Just as long as you don't adopt US mores you'll do okay. European values are laudable.
Honestly these guys have reached South Africa - just love them!!
YOUR ALL AWESOME!
Best Entertainment on UA-cam.
I'm from Chicago, but have lived in S.Carolina about 6 + years now.
I love the clean humor
Proud and blessed to be a southern gal!
Observational humour is simply the best there is These guys have it down to a fine art
The Dollar General hostile "take over", one of my favorites!!... they pop up like dandelions don't they?😊
Yep
That weather forecast is soooo funny!!
Northern Alabama here and never leaving.
Y’all need to do some kind of meet and greet somewhere in AL.
I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED IT!!! I love these guys so much!!!
Totally love these! Keep it up, y'all are doing great.
You guys are Great!!!!
Love their videos and I am a midwesterner... we almost as southern as southerners...
She is so funny and beautiful too.
We all love Talia!
I'd just be happy as a clam watching Talia eat popcorn on her own couch. Just love her.
Just love them 🥰
Love their series
This was great! I've wanted to learn some background, but I'm surprised 'SEC Shorts' didn't get a mention as well. That's what led me to your videos.
Great Interview! Nice to meet you all!
I love the clips. Keep up the good work.
Blessings, from Virginia !
Love these folks!!!
Matt is superb.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ "It's a Southern thing"
Their stuff is soooo true.
I need to take a food tour of Birmingham... heck maybe all of Alabama! This video is making me hungry 😄
Food gets better the further south you go I promise
@@jennifercunha2539 I agree, I live in Texas, and the food is amazing here!
@@writerbill1 I lived in San Antonio for a few years the food is the major thing I miss but now we're on the Ms coast all the creole and sea food you can handle
@@jennifercunha2539mmm, creole... I've lived in both Houston and Austin, and wow, just amazing food of many types of cuisine!
I always thought that SEC Shorts and Southern Thing we're basically the same people
The beard of HUMOR!!!!
We need to build a wall: Downey California
would they like a tv show..
let us know
doc johnny
That would ruin it.
Okra, sqaush, then green maters ! Egg custard pie, Banana and pineapple pudding, pecan pie
Egg custard pie! My granny loved that.
Pecan pie hands down, and when that’s gone banana pudding
I’m so glad they asked the pecan question. My relatives in Georgia say pea can. I say pecon. Or peh-con!! This has always bugged me. I’m a native Texan. After trying to spell the way I say it, I think my relatives might be on point. Lol. I’ll never say it that way, though.
On the pecan farms in South Georgia they say pea can. But the whole point of the south is people don’t tell you what to do and how to live. So pecon is just as southern in that sense. Love from Georgia!
Peh-cahn. The spelling makes sense. Silent H. Silent H. Pecan.
Fried okra and banana pudding so says this boy from Knoxville.
No need to choose: A slice of pecan pie topped with banana pudding.
Facebook, Instagram, twitter???? Dint do any of those. Only see them on youtube.... and you don't even mention it. Hmmm.
where is my future wife Calli?
only had the one extra lav? :-)
Cheap rural TV? We had more than that at a Jr. College in the 1980's!
Wait Adam and Talia aren’t married to each other? Is this whole channel a lie?
Of course not. Ever notice their last names?
What is this SEC i keep hearing about? I know the B1G,ACC,PAC12 but never heard of the sec.
South East Conference.
Yeah, he looks like a Luke don't he
Luke needs to be in front of the camera more.
Kudzu, who woulda thunk it?
Wow. That was a stereotypical local TV interview, super light and super superficial. I wish the host had kept his mouth closed more often and let his talented guests use theirs more. A wasted opportunity really...
Pure armature. I guess they have to start somewhere before they waste our time in Network TV.
Noice
I say peecan and I'm not ashamed.
And you and I are right!
Pe-kahn. My father taught us "pe-can" is what you urinate in. 😅
Why are they holding........ sweet tea ? I'm glad they at least drank some during instead of it being sort of product placement and around! I get it they're southern but really ? Haha
As a Northerner, these short videos help to soften my view of the White South. I’m sorry to say, I’m still afraid to travel through the South…
If your that close minded with all due respect please stay up north we are not at all what is depicted and we don't want your hate down here
Hahahahaha! To both of you. One who is so ignorant of southern people thinking they hate everyone and the other proving her fears. Oh my.
Pronunciated as O-cree. Spelled as Okra. C'mon guys, do your homework. ; --)
Sacrilege! it's pee-can.
Nope. Its puh-khan.
Nope.
@@helenholt1161 I'm from south carolina I would know!
@@ElricGurl Well I am from Georgia, the pecan capital if the world. Y'all can't top that.
Pee can is a restroom alternative.
They come from Hollywood to see if they can woke it somehow.
Love these folks!
