Dark wash jeans being your "good pants" is too true! When I work for a cruise call center, I made sure to let people know denim didn't qualify just in case. Received a lot of thanks for making sure the guests knew!

I said the most southern thing ever on a cruise! When my family from Alabama walked into the breakfast buffet I walked ahead to see what they had and yelled out to my husband “Daddddy! They have biscuits and gravy!” 😂

I went on a lake cruise once. It was 2-3 hours long. I remember being very worried when they took pictures of everyone who went aboard. The photographer, undoubtedly trying to have a bit of fun at work, said that they took them so if the boat sank, the relatives of those on board could have a picture. Me being the dead serious kid that I was, took that at face value and couldn't understand why my brother and grandfather were laughing. I was convinced the boat would go down with all hands and that we'd die. Of course, the boat did not sink. The worst thing that happened was a bunch of middle aged ladies danced the electric slide. The photographer tried to sell people the pictures taken before the cruise to the passengers after we disembarked. The cruise was quite scenic.
LOL we got Married on a cruise and we're going back in Feb for our 16 anniversary - and yes I won the karaoke contest and plan to win again this year, singing Rihanna "Take A Bow" yes I'm practicing already! Melanie :) I'm so Southern!

I went on two cruises in the 90s and they were awesome. They don’t do some of the things like the midnight buffets anymore but I still want to go. And yes, you have to attend the safety drills and they will totally leave without you if you’re not back on ship in time. Just sayin’

Oh those plastic trophies were my mom's favorite thing about the cruises we took. She got one by judging the "Hairy Chest Contest."
I was about two steps away from entering the hairy chest contest on Carnival. I saw a couple of hairier guys and decided not. I was very glad because being Carnival they just switched it into a "shake your booty" contest and gave the prize to a guy who had about 2 hairs total on his chest.
Hubs and I got one for winning a scavenger hunt. Probably 20 years ago, no idea where it is now!

I took one with my mom and grandma to The Bahamas before, though I was only a 1-year-old so I don't remember anything. Round two on that trip is coming in March though of this year. Between those two, it was a cruise on a lake in Missouri.

Bingo on a cruise? I do activities at an assisted living facility. It cuts the boring afternoons. On a cruise our residents would be doing hula contest and margaritas.

I went on my first cruise this year and experienced everything you mentioned - one member of our party even managed to be put in ‘ ship jail’ after drinking her full quota of the drinks package!

WAIT?!?!?! You can swim with the pigs? I heard they closed that back in 1961 after it's disastrous launch. I heard there were some leaks and the news got out. Then a whole bunch of people crashed the beach and the whole affair was a total loss.
At 1:29, my wife and did a cruise from Seward, AK to Vancouver, BC (Canada) for our honeymoon in 2000. I was 30 and my bride was 25 at the time and a few of the staff confirmed we were the youngest passengers on the whole ship that weren't there with our parents, by a wide margin. Heck, we cruised from Southampton to Rome and back in 2018 and being just shy of 50 by then, I was STILL in the lower range of passengers who were there without parents

The only midnight buffet I did was the chocolate one. Otherwise I was asleep by then. lol I have to confirm though, we plan our trips around meals and restaurants we like. If we leave at this time, we can hit Knoxville around lunch and stop at this particular place we like to eat at up there. That will give us plenty of time for visiting when we get to our destination before going out to supper.
