When decluttering, no matter what system you use (example: Container method, KonMari method, etc..) it's perfectly normal to feel like you want to set fire to everything and walk away due to being so overwhelmed. The 'messy middle' of a project can be really frustrating as sometimes things look way worse before they look better. As Dory the fish says in Finding Nemo, "Just keep swimming." Your feelings of overwhelm and, "AAAAAAAAH!!!!" are completely valid and you can get through this. ♥

Thanks for being with me this morning as I took everything out of my big 5 drawer dresser, Starting to declutter. I now have 1 and 1/2 empty drawers, which are going to stay that way. Going to use the one in and one out method.Thanks for always giving me inspiration.
Getting new living room and bedrooms carpet soon. Figured I would get theses terrible bedrooms decluttered before it comes, why move things out and have to move them back in🤷♀️ After almost 56 years, you can only imagine ,right? I can throw everything, the hubby on the other hand🙄😜

Along the same lines of never leave a room empty-handed, I try to leave a room in better shape than when I entered it by doing a little tidying or cleaning, even if it's just dusting a small area with my hands. Those were all great insights that you covered in this video though!

I love the pretend your moving motivation! I use this method also,and suggest this to people too! After having had to go through in-laws stuff I would never want my kids to have to deal with excess stuff of ours.
I've been using it too. You bring up another point too about older people's things. It's a related to Swedish death cleaning but also just aging and mobility. A lot of our stuff is in a roof space that's awkward to access and I'm suddenly not very keen on climbing up there ever again.
Yes! Moving is so good for forced decluttering - I love this tip too!

Maybe the best tip for decluttering is to stop buying stuff. Hard I know, and I struggle. Also don’t take stuff people want to give you if you truly have no place for it, doesn’t fit your style, or you simply won’t use it.
Yes - 100% stop buying stuff. Definitely not easy but so worth it. I don't plan on decluttering forever so I definitely have stopped buying things - now I agonize over any purchases before I make them :) Thank you for watching, Cyndie!

I want to buy house on a large lot with a huge shed or metal building to store my new RV and ALL my clutter neat as if it was a supply warehouse . Then i just find a forgotten item and it FREE . Don’t care if family cry’s because stuff already afraid to clean up before i’m dead . I leave more than enough money to legal advisor to do as they want .
