    Thanks for good info. Western Washington, coastal, a favorite jig for twitching is called the "Murderer". 1/4 oz black painted head, black chenille body, red bucktail hair w/Silver Crystal Flash. Great results

    Great video thanks rod and rod. I was watching videos all day a lot of the we're saying dark in murky water. The sillowette shows up better but I'm gonna go with what you say great products from a great fisherman

    1/16th is a jumbo where we roll here in the Great Lakes. Great video!

      I'm assuming you don't twitch them then, correct? I can't image casting a 1/16th so far for twitching.

      No, we run them under floats.

      The Consummate Sportsman Yeah in places like the Nottawasaga river (lake Huron trib) that would be true, but in rivers like the humber even 1/8 oz is fine. Its like those berkley 6 inch pink worms. 3 inch i prefer in the notty, the 6 inch ones I full collar cut them then place on a 1/8 jig head for fall steelhead and massive browns in lake Ontario tribs

    Make sure you guys check out Rod Toth's UA-cam channel as well. He also has lots of videos on salmon and steelhead fishing in British Columbia. We have a couple more tutorials featuring him coming up in February.

      23v0lv32 There'll be more videos from me in the future of course. Since the other Rod is an expert on jig fishing, which I know almost nothing about, it only makes sense to bring him in as a guest instructor to show our audience his work. There'll be a couple more jig related tutorials by him next month.

    Hey rod are there particular colors per species? I heard at vedder for example purple and pink combos are good for coho and chum

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  6 років тому

      Purple is always good for chum. Blue/black has been an excellent colour for coho.

      Vanouhi Remember there's huge browns in the great lakes. Where i'm from port credit bob Izumi;s underwater camera guy Rick matasik caught a 36lb brown and a 39 lb too at the mouth of a lake ontario trib. Gord Deval and Paul Quarrington talk about it in there trout fishing book. All the way up too 1/8 is fine on low viz days especially for salmon :) ! I wouldn't want a 30 lb + Chinook on a 1/32 unless the hook was top of the lot ! Tight lines !:)
